From start to finish, our family had an unforgettable experience on this tour. The highlight was undoubtedly our guide, Sunny. He was utterly delightful — blending humor with deep knowledge of Vietnam’s history and culture. The way he shared stories and insights made the day not only informative but also incredibly engaging. We found ourselves wishing that every tour we take could be this fun and lively. Sunny’s humor kept everyone smiling, and his passion for Vietnam shone through in every detail he shared. Our children especially loved how interactive and entertaining he made the journey. The bus itself was exceptional — brand new, spotless, and very comfortable, which made the travel between sites a pleasure. Overall, it was a fantastic day for our family. We left with wonderful memories, a deeper appreciation of Vietnam and a strong recommendation for anyone considering this tour: if you’re lucky enough to have Sunny as your guide, you’re in for something truly special!

Sunny is probably one of the best tour guides I have ever encountered. So proud of his country, very eager to learn about his group, as well as teaching us about Hanoi. Vietnam and the lovely corners of Ninh Binh we stopped at. I think the length of the visit is just enough, and all the timing of the activities are thought through, and there is no pressure to do ones that might be more physically challenging. I recommend this tour for families, solo travellers, friend groups.. pretty much anyone looking for a great day out!!

My friend and I took a day trip from Hanoi to Tam Coc this December, and it was an incredible experience! Cruising down the winding river in a small rowboat—uniquely paddled by the locals using their feet—while surrounded by towering limestone karsts and passing through natural caves felt like being inside a living painting. Quick tips for a winter visit: Ideal December weather: This is the dry season in Northern Vietnam, so there was no rain and it wasn’t suffocatingly hot like the summer. However, the wind on the river can get quite chilly, so definitely bring a windbreaker or light jacket. Sun protection & Tipping: Even without the intense heat, you’ll be on an open boat for about 1.5 hours, so sunscreen and sunglasses are a must. Also, the rowers work incredibly hard (paddling with their feet!), so remember to leave a small tip (50k–100k VND) at the end. While you won't see the golden rice fields in December, the serene emerald waters and peaceful vibes make it a 10/10 winter escape from Hanoi!
