All Captains have the full high grade navigational licence which allows the Bahriyeli to go out further than 3 miles of base port, which is a real plus when the whales are further out & enabling to see the larger whales and dolphins passing on their migrational course.

What To Expect

Bahriyeli is a 23 meter 2 mast Turkish Gulet and invites you to an unforgettable experience on a two hour sail to visit Tenerife’s resident Pilot Whales and Dolphins in their own natural environment. During the sail you will be able to see the breath taking south coast of Tenerife, Mount Teide and also the chance of seeing many different species of whales and dolphins that are passing by on their migration route including Sperm Whales, Fin Whales, turtles, many different species of dolphins, Jelly Fish and marine Birds. On board our experienced crew will be able to identify and explain what you have seen on your cruise.

Superb ethnical tour seeing whales, turtles and dolphins

We chose this tour as they had a more ethical approach to watching wildlife and were very pleased with that decision but it paid off in terms of what we saw. The boats approach is to not aggressively chase the marine life which meant that when 6 other boats were doing that, we hung back with the engine off and were rewarded by dolphins choosing to swim near our boat. We were lucky enough to see Pilot whales, sea turtle and about 6 dolphins. If you don't choose this tour please choose carefully. We observed some other companies driving straight for the whales and dolphins at full speed and the animals just dive down out of sight.

Great trip - the crew sailed us nearby to 2 pods. Both pods were comfortable near the boat so we had excellent views. The crew spoke multiple languages and showed pictures of the whales and dolphin breeds to help. Would recommend the trip for 2 hours of watching.

Fun experience. Dress appropriately for different weather conditions (hot, cold wind, splashes of water), Plan to be at the pier well ahead of time as parking is very very difficult.

Exactly what we wanted: to have the chance to observe cetaceans without harming or hunting them. The organization keeps its promises. The boat not very full, maybe more people during the summer but for this month of December we had all the pleasure of being able to move on the boat without being tight like sardines Smiling and pleasant crew I recommend!

We had a really great experience on the No Chase Tenerife dolphin and whale trip – honestly better than expected. We were lucky enough to see multiple dolphins and even sea turtles, and while the crew are very clear that sightings aren’t guaranteed, we certainly felt we got a fantastic experience. We travelled as a family with two daughters aged 5 and 10, and it was completely fine for them. The boat felt safe, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the trip length was just right. A practical tip for anyone going: bring a hoodie and waterproof jacket, plus waterproof shoes if you have them. It can get windy and wet, sometimes both at once, and if the sun isn’t out it can feel a little chilly. I would give this five stars if it were a non-smoking boat. It isn’t, and in addition to the normal diesel smell you’d expect from a motorboat, there was tobacco smoke, which in this day and age really isn’t acceptable. Passive smoking and the associated health risks are well understood now, and it feels behind the times not to protect the majority of non-smoking customers. Some of the smokers may even have been staff (I can’t confirm this), which would be even more concerning. This is a genuine shame, because the trip itself is excellent. It’s also an area where competitors could easily gain an advantage by offering a smoke-free experience. Overall: a brilliant trip and highly recommended, but the smoking policy really needs updating.
