On the North Stradbroke Island Tour, migrating whales can be spotted from June to October, along with dolphins and turtles all year round. The island enjoys spectacular ocean views and has a rich history. It is home to many talented artists, a few of which we will visit when we arrive at Dunwich.
On our way to Point Lookout, we will stop at Myora Springs; a small creek leading into the surrounding mangroves.
In Point Lookout, we enjoy the spectacular coastal views on the North Gorge Walk.
North Stradbroke Island has beautiful beaches. It will be difficult to choose one for the stroll after lunch.
Brown Lake gets its name from the colour of the water. The clear tea colour comes from the surrounding tea trees and reeds. The natural bushland surrounding the lake is home to many delicate flowers. Here we will have afternoon tea or a refreshing swim before we head back to the mainland.
You will leave this beautiful tropical island with a lot of wonderful memories.

Myora Springs Conservation Area
“Capeembah” Myora Springs is a beautiful spot and source of freshwater for the wildlife of the Dunwich area, just a few kilometres out of Dunwich on the road to Amity Point and Point Lookout. Myora Springs, or Moongalba (sitting down place) has a pure-freshwater spring that is running today, just as it has for thousands of years. In the forest surrounding the Myora Springs is an abundance of freshwater crayfish, prawns, bungwal fern, and other plant foods and so it is no surprise to learn this was a favoured camping place of the Aboriginal people. The banks feature parts of large middens, which contain, among other things, cockle, oyster and whelk shells.

The walk along the reefs and North Gorg was really amazing with superb views and the opportunity to spot some marine Wilde life, in spite of the weather and high waves. Also very único was the visit to the Browne Lake. Anita was a very kind and excellent guide, always looking to attend our needs

This was an excellent trip from pick-up to drop-off, Anita was cheerful, knowledgeable and interesting. North Stradbroke Island provided so many opportunities to see varied landscapes, walk and enjoy the views that it was great to be able to do it at our pace on the private tour.

We had the most incredible day with Anita. She is a fantastic guide. She is knowledgeable about the island and its wildlife. We were lucky enough to spot whales coming in at the very end of May, dolphins playing, and even koalas in the wild. Lunch at the Blue Room was delicious. We ended the day at a very tranquil Brown Lake, and Anita prepared a wonderful tea, coffee, juice, as well as pastries and fruit. The tour was very well organized and we didn’t feel rushed at all throughout the day. North Stradbroke Island is very beautiful. We spent 2 weeks in Australia and this is one of our favorite tours. I highly recommend booking this tour with Anita. It’s a bit of a hidden gem when reviewing tour options, and one you don’t want to pass up!
