This is a fabulous day trip option from York. It is a full day, so be prepared for a long one, but worth it. Going to Whitby to see the ruined Abbey and seeing the vast and beautiful landscape of North York Moors is not to be missed. I’ve always spent time south and it was fascinating to see the difference in the topography. Book this tour. You will be glad you did!

We had a wonderful trip with our guide John. The absolutely highlight was the stop at the top of the moors, with a beautiful sunny view above the heavy mist in the valleys. The abbeys were also lovely, and we had a very nice time in Whitby, where we were able to enjoy 2h30 walking around and grabbing a bite to eat. The ride between each stop was very pleasant, even with the heavy fog John had to navigate through. It was lovely to hear not only about the history of York, the moors, and the Whitby area, but also his own more personal knowledge about the area. We highly recommend this day tour!
