Our guide, Barry, was excellent. We were given so much relevant information throughout the whole tour. Barry was very friendly and was always ready to answer questions with a smile. We would definitely travel with Mountain Goat tours York again, especially if Barry was to be our guide.

This was such a great tour. We stopped at a couple of bonus places not listed on the itinerary and saw so many beautiful things. Ben was a knowledgeable guide, and Bob made sure we got everywhere safely. We saw so many pheasants and grouse, we lost count! We were surprised to find out that the tour also included a steam train ride. What a great day!

We were actually planning to travel to Whitby by bus from York. However, reading how unreliable that particular bus service is, we decided last minute to look for a guided tour instead and what a good decision that was! Our guide Trevor was lovely and knowledgeable and we got more out of the trip than we thought we would. We've also seen some places we weren't planning on seeing. Whitby Abbey was meant to be the highlight of the trip for us but we ended up loving Byland Abbey as much, if not more. I'd definitely recommend and I'll be looking at booking other trips with Mountain Goat next time I'm in the area.

We had a fab day out York-Whitby. Our driver John took us to Byland Abbey, Helmsley, St Gregorys Minster, The Moors dropping down into Goathland & onto Whitby. He has a great knowledge of local history and points places of interest out en route, a great start to our Golden Wedding celebrations! as we honeymooned at Sandsend and its not changed that much.

We had a wonderful trip to the Moors and Whitby with Steve, our excellent driver and guide, who had lots of stories and local knowledge. Byland Abbey and Helmsley village were lovely to walk around. Visiting Goathland Station (featured in the Harry Potter films as Hogsmeade and Aidensfield in the tv series ‘Heartbeat’) was a particular highlight for us. The two hours we spent in Whitby, with its abbey, connection to Dracula and delightful harbour area and shops, were very enjoyable. We thoroughly recommend this trip by Mountain Goat tours.
