Fantastic day trip to Whitby stopping at numerous interesting places on the way. John our guide was absolutely brilliant, incredibly knowledgable and such a talent at sharing stories in an engaging way. Very comfortable bus and our stops at Byland Abbey, Helmsley, Goathland, the church and the top of the moors added a real sense of Yorkshire off the beaten track. Lovely to visit Whitby and see the Abbey before walking down the steps for lunch. All in all a grand day out!

Best day out. Even in winter this was beautiful and more so as it is less crowded. We were taken to lots off the beaten track places. Lots of great commentary and stories from our driver and guide, John

I planned to visit York few days and I was looking for a tour to withby and I found this! Definetely a great choice! Trevor was AMAZING, he told me a lot of stories about places, history, animal, forestry. literally everything! All the places we stopped were great and Withby is a real gem. At the tour was just me, so I had basically a private tour! Thank you for this experience, thanks Trevor! The van is comfortable, clean and new +++

If you're planning to stay in York for a few days, this is the perfect side trip. We enjoyed the scenery and the historic sites and villages. Our guide was well-informed and easy to understand. Whitby is a great place for Fish-n-Chips, but the lines can be long. We found a restaurant on a side street called Royal Fisheries and the haddock was great. One word of caution: When you get to Whitby, pay close attention to the pick-up location. We roamed around town for about two and half hours and forgot which side of the bridge we were to meet the coach. Almost missed our ride back to York.

Our tour guide, Steve, was the sweetest person ever. He was VERY educated on the different sites and history. We did enjoy driving through the Moors, it was such a great experience. Byland Abbey was also great to explore. I wish we had a little more than 15 minutes to fully explore it though. We did stay in Whitby for 3 hours which I feel was a little excessive. 2 hours would have sufficed. Otherwise, great tour.

Ben A was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of York, the moors and Whitby. He was very engaging and kept the energy going throughout the trip with his enthusiasm. I would definitely recommend booking a trip with Mountain Goat.

From the moment Berry picked up our family of 5, we knew this would be a great day! Story telling, history sharing and local tips were abundant. Stopping along the way, we learned so much about this beautiful area. Our kids, adults and teens, enjoyed it as much as we did. Stopping at Whitby was a highlight as well as ancient churches and countryside areas. 10/10 for an amazing say. The only regret? We wished we’d done this on day 1 of our time in York - Berry’s depth of knowledge of the area was superior.

We had an absolutely fantastic day with Berry. From the moment we met him, the stories began. A fully customized tour, our family of 5 had the best time. Not only did we learn so much about the area and history of this fascinating country, we got to get out and see it. Our kids, teens and young adults, were as riveted as my husband and I. Our only regret was not doing this tour the first day we arrived in York. Berry shared insider tips on places to go, what to eat, where to shop and how to visit like a local. It was a 5 STAR experience. If you’re visiting York, give yourself the best gift and book Berry!

This tour will take you to a couple of beautiful point in Yorkshire Moorland Highland, such as abbey, cathedral, and English Village/town. As the day of our tour was extremely foggy, we cant see much in term of Moorland scenery. However, our guide John still does his best in taking us to place that is still worthwhile to visit and giving us extensive history of Yorkshire. Whitby the seaside Port Town was the highlight of the tour for me.
