We went out with Nico on the 27th of March and we had the best time! Nico is a really friendly guy he knows his stuff and you can see how passionate he is about his job and the northern lights! We was so lucky to have an amazing show that lasted hours he took some amazing photos of the lights and of me with the lights they are way better than any of the photos I took and will be great to look back on and show family and friends. I really enjoyed the tour and the fact that Nico was just as excited to see the lights as I was made it even better. I would 100% recommend going with Arctic photo guide (Nico) it was a 10 out of 10 experience.

If you’re trying to decide which tour guide to book, look no further. I did extensive research into Northern Lights tour operators before my trip, and Arctic Photo Guide stood out from the very beginning. In fact, I planned my entire Tromsø trip around Nico’s availability—and it was absolutely the right decision. Nico provides incredible photography as part of the experience, capturing unforgettable moments without charging extra like many other operators do. His expertise in reading aurora activity and weather conditions is exceptional. He constantly monitors the data and sky, and isn’t afraid to change locations at a moment’s notice to find clear conditions. Honestly, if Nico can’t find the lights, they probably aren’t there! I joined two tours with Arctic Photo Guide. On the first, we were lucky to witness strong aurora displays right away, and we moved between three different locations to capture a variety of stunning landscapes. On the second tour, conditions were more challenging, but Nico went above and beyond—driving all the way into Finland to give us the best possible chance. That level of dedication really says it all. To top it off, he serves a delicious hot stew at the end of the night, which is a perfect way to warm up after hours in the cold. What truly sets Arctic Photo Guide apart—aside from Nico being a genuinely great guy—is his beast of a car. Equipped with massive snow tyres, it can handle off-road conditions and reach locations that other tour operators simply can’t access, opening up unique photographic opportunities. In short: book with Arctic Photo Guide and you will get the tour you’re looking for.

Second tour with Nico, second success! If you want to do a unique tour both for competence and seriousness, and as uniqueness in the spot from which you will “hopefully” see the aurora, then there is nothing better than a tour with Arctic Photo Guide. Incredible evening seasoned with an aurora of hours! The best you will find as a tour in Tromsø! Nice Nico!

I had the pleasure to join a tour to see the Northern Lights in Norway with Nicola, an Italian boy who has lived here for many years, and it was a very special experience. His tour stands out from many others because it doesn't just take you to any point to look at the sky. Nicola always looks for the best place possible and, when the conditions allow and the group agrees, also offers short walks in the mountains to reach more isolated viewpoints and away from the crowds. This makes the experience even more authentic and immersive. Groups are small, so everything is much more relaxed and personal. During the tour Nicola shares a wealth of information about the Northern Lights, Norway and the nature of the place. You can clearly perceive his experience and above all the great passion for what he does. Another thing I really appreciated is that he is not in a hurry to take you home: if there is a chance to see the aurora or wait for conditions to improve, Nicola really does everything possible to make the group live the experience to the full. It is not just a tour to “see the aurora”, but a complete Arctic nature experience, led by someone who really knows the territory and loves to share it with others. Highly recommended for those looking for more than just a sightseeing excursion.

Photographing in a place you don’t know can be demanding – and it becomes even more so when you’re chasing something as unpredictable and short-lived as the Northern Lights. That’s why having someone at your side who truly understands the region, the weather patterns, and the right spots away from artificial light makes all the difference. I came across the Arctic Photo Guide on Instagram and managed to secure a last-minute place on one of his aurora tours. Our group was small, which created a calm and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the evening. He brought us to remarkable locations in this vast Arctic scenery, shared practical guidance for capturing the lights, and also documented the experience himself. After the tour, he sent us the photos he had taken – a lasting reminder of an unforgettable night. His approachable personality and deep familiarity with the Arctic environment turned the excursion into something truly memorable. I would gladly join another tour with him on a future visit.

On Tuesday evening I was able to live the incredible experience of seeing the Northern Lights. It was a breathtaking sight, also thanks to the nice and prepared guide Nicola, who took us to the right place at the right time! Later, we moved to a cozy and charming place where we had dinner with tasty hot soups around a fire. The warmth of the fire and the taste of the soup made the moment even more special and relaxing. An experience not to be missed, recommended to all lovers of nature and adventure. Thanks again to the guide for making us live such a special moment!

This tour was incredible. Well worth the money. We were so fortunate with the weather and the solar activity but even so Nico was an exceptional tour guide. He was passionate and knowledgable and determined to take us to the best spot. Our initial place was gorgeous as we were able to take shots with the northern lights reflected in the Fjord. However, when more tours turned up, Nico took us somewhere else to prevent their lights ruining our shots. For me personally, Nico was able to show me how to use my camera to take some amazing shots myself. He taught me about different setting and creating the perfect composition. There was so much activity that we ended up creating a fire a bit later. Nico warmed soup for us all which was needed at -10. He even gave us heated shoe insoles which were needed! We are really excited to see our photos when they come through from him. The ones he showed us on his camera looked perfect. His vehicle meant that we could get further off the beaten track and had a very personal experience. I would definitely recommend. This trip was a once in a lifetime experience for us and now we have the perfect photo memories thanks to him.
