Truly memorable night of aurora chasing with our super energetic and determined guide Julien. The lights were already visible from Tromso as we boarded the bus and with no clouds and good aurora predictions, we were optimistic. We stopped a couple of times to see the lights in case they disappeared, but eventually Julien took us to a great, very dark secluded spot in the woods by a frozen lake and stayed there for hours. He was sure we would see a great display but told us we had to be patient. Campfire was started and we were given reconstituted expedition food which was OK (reindeer stew, or vegan option). Julien was good at getting our group of about 12 ppl chatting. After a few hours we were all a bit cold (no-one took the thermal suits on offer), and there were pretty decent green aurora coming and going slowly so we thought maybe that's it, but Julien was sure a show was coming. Just before midnight, an amazing display started with the lights dancing in and out magically in green, red and white, right above us for at least five minutes. We just watched in awe. Julien had a high res camera and took wonderful photos and video which he shared after with the group after. We got back to Tromso about 1.30am and felt very lucky.

I highly recommend this tour by The Green Adventure. The tour guide is very knowledgeable. He explains how this natural phenomenon occurs, shares his personal experiences, and helped the group form a strong bond. It’s clear that he knows his craft well. He also captured amazing photos of us under the northern lights.

Jessica was an excellent guide and gave us interesting information to the Northern Lights. Also the driver made us feel any time safe and comfortable in the bus. Green Adventure uses small buses of about max. 15 people which we appreciated extremeley. We had the chance - thanks to Jessica's knowledge and good networking with other guides - to find after only about 1.5 hrs car drive the wonderful Northern Lights! Performance-price ratio of the tour is very good.

We went on 2 tours with The Green Adventure crew - one was on our first day in Tromsø and the other the clearest day we ever got. Both guides were awesome - our first guide was Jessica (from Brazil, which was really nice for us on our first day) which is very knowledgeable - she explain the whole theory around northern lights, how guides check for aurora conditions, cloud coverage - how they measure activity and the different kinds and colors of northern lights - it was really good to start our journey with this knowledge and we didn't get so much into these details with other guides as we did with Jessica. The first night was really cloudy, but Jessica managed to find us a really nice spot with a little bit of clear sky and we were able to see the northern lights on our first night. The other night with Antonio, the whole north was blessed with clear skies, and also we were doubly blessed with high aurora activity. This day we saw the pink aurora, we saw rapid dancing lights and the whole sky was filled with aurora activity - a truly magical experience. The tour is standard otherwise: van with around 12 spots, food is Real Turmat with hot chocolate/tea, roasted marshmallows over campfire - hot suits were also available by request if you were too cold. Only downside: photos have a watermark and low resolution - you need to pay extra to get originals in full res.

Antonio was an amazing guide and Eliot was an excellent driver. We had great conditions and Antonio made sure that we had the perfect location to see the lights. This tour alone made the trip from the US worth it.

Great experience and the lights were stunning! We had Julien and he was very efficient: talked quickly, found a place with clear skies quickly and took photos quickly! Once he found a nice spot, we stayed there for the rest of the night (about 4 hours) waiting for the aurora, taking photos and eating/drinking by the campfire. His knowledge of the aurora was commendable and he taught us how we could try and find it ourselves. Small group so it didn’t feel overcrowded either, all in all definitely would recommend

We had a great time on the tour - our guide was very knowledgeable about the lights and knew the best places to see them. The guide also took professional photos of the lights and these were shared after the tour which was a nice addition.
