  This was really great. Tomas, our guide, made it extra enjoyable with the history of the Northern Lights in local legends, the science behind it and with everything else from our hot chocolate to the photos he took of all of us. We were well cared for, comfortable and saw some great Northern Lights that night. Surely, the best group to Chase the Lights with!

  My friend and I spent 4 nights in Tromso and we knew that in order to maximise our chances of seeing the northern lights we would need to book a guided tour. We chose to book the small group premium Northern Lights chase through Arctic Explorers Norway as it appeared to be very good value for money in terms of what was included, the face that there was a maximum of 15 participants and the reviews spoke volumes. The experience exceeded our expectations and the evening was truly incredible. We met with our guide Tomas and we were taken to the office where we were provided with our snow suits and boots and a talk was given to prepare us for the evening. We then driver around 1.5 out of Tromso, the first spot was not viable due to the windy conditions so we continued further until we reached the ideal location with clearer skies. Throughout the journey Tomas provided very interesting factual information about Norway from information about the Fjords to Sami culture and traditions, his passion for Norway was evident and made the journey pass in no time. One we reached the perfect area, Tomas very quickly created our camp. Throughout the evening Tomas was the perfect guide and host, providing the hot meal (thank you for the offer of your personal snacks when I wasn’t able to participate in the hot meal due to my dietary restrictions) and hot chocolate by the fire, providing photography assistance with iPhones along with being a wonderful photographer and taking portraits of each of us, to continuing to provide a wealth of information in relation to the Northern Lights. We were treated to a spectacular display with the activity being particularly high and Tomas was so passionate about us receiving the very best experience, you could tell he was genuinely delighted to know we all had such a great night and took so much pride in his job. We spent around 4 hours in this spot and it was the most incredible experience, laying in the snow staring up as the stars and experience a wonderful northern lights show which got stronger and stronger as the night went on brought tears to my eyes. We returned back to the base around 7 hours after we left and our photos were ready to view just a short time later. I would highly recommend this excursion, not only did we get to see the northern lights which was of course the main focus, but we learned a lot of geographical and historical information and were looked after brilliantly. • Amazing aurora tour

  This tour was a great experience. Our guides brought us north to the coast and found an amazing spot with pretty much clear skies throughout the night. Our guide Tomas was very nice and super passionate about the aurora, he made a point out of taking great pictures of everyone. Organisation was top notch as well, can definitely recommend

  I joined the tours twice. Once as solo and once as couples. I had different guides for the tours. Both times I had good experiences but this review is for my second experience with Tomas in particular. General - good value for money (joined via get your guide website). Small group is a good size. Thermal suits and boots provided. Photos are free. Hot instant meal, campfire and marshmallow. Cozy even if it was cold. Pros: - our guide Tomas is very knowledgeable. He talked about the science of northern lights as well as other stuff (weather, satellite, history) without making it boring and using layman terms as well. It's really educational. - free photos professionally taken to take home the special moments. Both guides take the photo taking a priority so you are guaranteed (in my opinion) to be taking home some photos you like. I've seen some tours charge extra for photos so this is a bonus. - professional gap hunters. The guide made it clear they don't guarantee the lights and will try their best to look for gaps (clear sky) in the weather. I had little hope when we started our tour as the weather was horrible on that day. Clouds and rain. The aurora forecast was not promising either. It was just "Try". We drove for about an hour and Tomas brought us to an which opened up with clear sky. We witnessed aurora activities for about 2 hours nonstop (and it was amazing, magical and unforgettable. Cons: not really.

  At the beginning of our tour we were warmly welcomed by Storm, our guide. Afterwards we went to the office where we got information about the course of the tour and our snow equipment. And then it started already. Storm and our driver Adam always had their eyes on the sky so we wouldn’t miss an Aurora chance. Already after an hour's drive it was time. Adam stopped the car at the side of the road and the first pictures could be taken. Then we continued to the forests of Norway. Storm had found the perfect place for us. We set up the campfire and got to see the first Auroras. Storm's timing was just perfect. He told us exactly when to watch the sky, even if we could take a break. The sky finally cleared almost completely and we got to see the most beautiful Auroras. Storm also took beautiful photos for us. He included each of the guests in conversations and he had great tips and stories ready. After about 2 hours we drove back happy and still full of emotions. On the way back we also got to see several moose. We had a dream when we came to Norway to see Northern Lights. This dream has been absolutely fulfilled.   Angel was the best guide and really loved the experience from start to finish. I am usually not a fan of tours but this one was small and allowed us to go to remote places that felt very untouched. Everything was very thoughtful and relaxed, and the lights were amazing. 100% would recommend this to anyone!

  I’ve written well over a thousand reviews, but never for a service I didn’t actually get to experience! But I feel compelled to break the mould because Arctic Explorers and specifically Cohere deserve recognition for their professionalism, empathy and the way they handle things when life throws you a curve ball. I was due to join their Northern Lights trip, something I’d been looking forward to for months, but a medical situation meant I had to cancel just a week before departure. My cancellation email was answered immediately and the response was everything you hope for in moments like that: kind, understanding, and completely professional. They processed the refund straight away, no fuss, no stress. I’ve always believed you can judge a company not just by how they perform when everything goes right, but by how they behave when something goes wrong. Arctic Explorers passed that test with flying colours. I will absolutely return and book with them when I finally make it to Norway. And if their tours are anything like their administration and customer care, then you’re in for an exceptional experience. Thank you to Cohere for handling everything so thoughtfully.
