Imagine standing beneath a star-filled Arctic sky, the air crisp, the snow crunching under your feet and the Northern Lights dancing above — sometimes calm, sometimes wild. This is the adventure we set out to find together.
Our small-group tour in Tromsø, limited to 19 guests, is led by a local guide and an experienced Arctic driver. Each evening is unique as we adapt to the night’s conditions, driving along the coast, through valleys, or even to Finland in search of clear skies.
When the aurora appears, your guide takes professional photos of you under the lights and shares photography tips. During the tour, you’ll also hear stories of Arctic life and the science behind the aurora while enjoying hot drinks, a light snack, and homemade cake. When conditions are right, we light a cozy bonfire.
Every Northern Lights display is unique — always unforgettable.

The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and sightings are not guaranteed. Please note that no refunds are provided if the Northern Lights are not visible during the tour.
The tour operates in most weather conditions, but if we have to cancel due to safety reasons, we will offer you an alternative date if possible, or a full refund.
We usually make 1-2 restroom stops during the tour, depending on our route. In remote areas without facilities, you may need to use nature discreetly if necessary. Please use the restroom before we depart.
Alcohol is not permitted during the tour. Guests who appear visibly intoxicated may be refused participation without a refund.
Cancellation Policy
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

What To Expect
Tromso
Pick-up and Introduction (0:00 - 0:30 hours) Meet at the designated pick-up point in Tromsø: Kirkegata 2, 9008 Tromsø. Introduction by your guide and driver about the evening’s plan and safety guidelines.
Troms
The Minibus Chase (0:30 - 2:00 hours) Drive out of Tromsø city to escape light pollution and head toward optimal locations in the Arctic landscape. Your guide will monitor weather forecasts and cloud cover while sharing insights about the Northern Lights and is open to questions about what it’s like to grow up and live in this unique Arctic region. Make stops along the way to check the skies, looking for stars in the dark Arctic night – a sign of breaks in the cloud cover and the potential to observe the Northern Lights.

5.00Geir, Kine and Sohja - from the greating moment to the good bye time both me and my mom we felt felt their engagement to give the best experience and care! Care and atmosphere is needed, because if the weather in Tromso is not best, they will do everything to find the clear sky and it might be long way and waiting time. So to make it easier they offered termic overalls, hot chocolate, sandwiches, and...the home made cake! The last one was sooo good that even if we wouldn't see the northern lights I'd still go there for the cake! We went 2 h away from Tromso, found the clear sky, at the beginning it wasn't that visible and it took a bit of time to see it coming stronger, but they warmed us up motivating, uplifting the spirit and explaining the parameters changing in time. We came back after 7 hours, tired but really happy and greateful we chose this tour to see the norther lights. Thank you Arctic Glow! Yes you do glow :)

5.00The team is sensational. Educated, cheerful and very friendly. They know a lot about the tour they offer. They are Norwegian and Finnish, and have been engaged in this type of tour for many years demonstrating a lot of experience. The guide is affectionate and the snacks served wonderful. They help us with the photos and respond very quickly. The next day they had already shared our photos. Super recommend. I'd do it with them again.

5.00They're wonderful! Kine and her husband have care and attention with everyone little seen on other tours (we divided our tours into 3 agencies, so we were able to see the difference). You can feel that they really want us to have an amazing night and are dedicated to it. The homemade snacks and the family recipe cake make you feel welcome and learn a little more about the local culture. A service that every Brazilian likes! We recommend too!!
This is the right choice if you want the best of northern lights experience.

5.00This Northern Lights tour was absolutely unforgettable. I read other travelers reviews and I chose it because of the guides. Geir Inge and Kine Mikkelsen, there were the reason it became so special. They were passionate, caring, and truly loved what they did. Everything was perfectly organized from pick up till drop off. They offered hot drinks, snacks specially the homemade cake. The bus was very comfortable and new. They made everyone feel comfortable and even helped capture the most beautiful photos. They super professionals in taking photos. I love all the photos from the tour. Watching the sky come alive with green light was pure magic, something I’ll never forget. Highly recommended to anyone who wants a real, heartfelt Northern Lights experience.

5.00We can only recommend this tour in a minibus. A small group is managed individually. The guides are very nice and friendly. They drive to very nice spots and if you are still lucky with the northern lights everything fit. Hot drinks and small, delicious snacks are offered. The whole package is coherent and certainly better than being driven in a large bus much more inflexibly.

They work so meticulously to craft a lovely experience that includes such warmth (figuratively and literally) and hospitality, as well as significant knowledge to maximise chances of seeing the northern lights! I felt very comfortable both with them and also knowing that they were giving us the best chance to see the northern lights at their best. We also felt very well fed! Thank you to you both again

5.00Arctic Glow, the best experience you’ll have of Northern Lights chase! Hands down 5-star excellent customer service! Inge and Kine are locals, the kindest, friendliest, down to earth people. Very knowledgeable on auroras too! We felt so very well looked after from start to finish. Despite the cloud cover, Inge found us a great night sky show! He also took very beautiful photos of everyone in the group and gave it to us the next day. The refreshments provided were enjoyable and served with much kindness. Kine made us try Norway’s native bread and brown cheese and her baked goodies are so yummy. The van is very comfortable and clean, Inge drives safely in the dark. The can is heated but when the night got colder, there were also blankets provided. Aurora is a long time bucket list item for us and we’re very glad we booked with Arctic Glow! It wasn’t just an experience, we felt we have new friends in these two! We travel a lot and do a lot of activities, this is honestly one of the very best and excellent customer service. Very highly recommended. No complaints, only praises for Arctic Glow! Hands down, 5-star service!

5.00Our Northern Lights tour with Arctic Glow Tromso was definitely “5 stars”! The husband & wife that conducted the tour - Geir Inge and Kine - were excellent! They are so kind & welcoming and love sharing all about Norway and the Northern Lights. They go above and beyond to make the evening a complete success! We saw an unbelievable show of the lights! They took us to a perfect location! Geir takes many professional pictures of everyone there and the lights themselves and shares them with you. So we ended up with beautiful pictures! Kine provided hot beverages and yummy snacks. We would highly recommend this tour!!

5.00Our very best recommendations. Not only did the 2 (locale) guides managed to find lots of northern light on a very cloudy evening starting out with rain and ending up in light snow, they also made a very cozy evening out of it and even after we had a long period with different colors and patterns of lightning the sky they did’nt stop chasing yet another experience for their guests. And guests we were treated as - first of all they were very keen about our safety including safety instructions and flourescent harness for everyone to wear when we went outside the bus - also the driving felt safe even when it was snowing. They had attention to all their guests and talked with everyone and also made sure that everyone got the opportunity to have their pictures taken (many) with a professional camera as long as the northern light was playing on the sky They also spoiled us with snacks during the evening - first bread with the local speciality Myseost to try (as we were tourists from all over the world) and later on a delicious home baked cake - both times with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and lemonade (also hot) When the northern light showed up, both guides did their very best to ensure that we all brought home good pictures including the pictures that they shut of every single of us + a group picture - and the pictures landed in our mailbox already the following day. Add to this that the van had great comfort and was very clean - and that pictures, snacks and beverages was all without exstra charge. Can ´t imagine that we could have choosen a better provider, so thank you very much to you Geir Inge and Kine, you made the evening unforgettable, and your enthusiasm was smitting.

5.00With countless Northern Lights tours on offer in Tromsø, you absolutely can not beat the Arctic Glow team!! They are very dedicated and professional, with a personal touch. Given the very cloudy weather, we had the option to rebook or proceed. Due to our short time in Tromsø, we decided to try our luck and our hosts used their local knowledge to find the best view point, where we saw the Northern Lights through the only cloud break for many miles - we were one of only a few to see them that night! Thank you, Geir Inge and Kine, for being so warm and welcoming. Also, many thanks for the fantastic photos, lovely homemade snacks, and very comfortable bus. It is clear to see how much passion you have for sharing Tromsø and the Northern Lights with others.
