Take your best chance to see the Northern lights from Rovaniemi in small groups! With your personal guide, you will explore the nature of Lapland and hunt the magic of the Aurora Borealis. Professional camera and pictures are included in this tour.
On all our excursions, our groups are limited to 8 people maximum. It is very important for us to provide you with the best experience possible, and avoid mass tourism. This way, your guide will know you better and will be able to address all your needs and answer your questions. Furthermore, when it comes to the Northern Lights, chances to observe them properly are increased when groups (and light pollution emitted by torches, phones, cameras, etc.) are reduced. As we usually say - the smaller the group, the bigger the experience!

After being picked up and properly dressed with professional winter clothing and boots (if needed), your Aurora expert guide will drive you away from Rovaniemi, straight out to the wilderness. Based on the weather forecasts, the solar activity and our experience, we will select some locations that are more promising to see the Northern Lights. Your guide will also always check the weather conditions, and you may decide to try another location if you are willing to. As this excursion is a 4-hour tour, you may get the chance to visit up to 3 locations. This tour will offer you the opportunity to head into the Lapland wilderness and explore the arctic nature, hopefully with Northern Lights dancing over your heads! Your guide will share with you their knowledge about the forest, nature and wildlife, and the northern lights phenomenon. They will also teach you how to build a fire in the traditional way, using elements from your surroundings, and will serve you some hot beverages and Finnish snacks to warm you up. They will also be equipped with a professional camera and take many pictures of you and the Northern Lights (a link to download them will be sent to you the next day).

We were very disappointed with the tour as it was supposed to be a guranteed northern light viewing. there was no or scant visibility for less than 5minutes and hence the tour should not have taken place . We paid for the light tour not to have snacks and sit in the hut which became the primary focus of our trip.

Extremely rude and unforgiving company. Avoid at all cost. 1. The company does not listen. They talked over customer’s voice and not listening. No compassion. Poor attitude. 2. We booked 2 tours with them. We got stuck in a snow by a previous tour company’s car and could not get back to town. They said we need to tell them by 3 pm. They think getting stuck in snow is that predictable? 3. Their aurora tour is with bad policy. Even with the snow and they still insisted to go. They should have offered some compassion and asked about our wel being of getting stuck in snow. Instead all they focused on is their.3 pm report and their money. Extremely rude people. There are companies everywhere just do not use these people! I wish them the best for such unkind, not understanding and greedy attitude..

I joined the tour with my family on a cloudy and rainy night with low hopes of seeing the aurora. Wild about Laplands team (special mention to Thomas, Aina, Marithra) greatly impressed us with their professionalism and effort in chasing the light. We headed up northwest and was fortunate to have the clouds clear up and eventually saw the auroras. Spectacular experience we’d remember for a lifetime. The night also ended beautifully with hot chocolate and roasted sausages in the wild under the dancing aurora.

Amazing experience in Lapland. Small group made it more personal. Nice snacks cooked out in the open.

Our family visited Rovaniemi in late November and joined this tour with high hopes of witnessing the aurora borealis for the first time. Unfortunately, the weather just didn’t cooperate. Thick cloud cover across the entire region meant there was no chance of seeing the lights that night. In hindsight, we felt the tour probably should have been cancelled or rescheduled, as the forecast was quite clear that visibility would be poor. That said, we want to give a big shoutout to our guide, who truly made the most of a disappointing situation. He was fantastic with our two girls! He was as fun and engaging as one could be when driving all over looking for a clearing. At our last stop, he took time to snap some creative and silly photos with them using fun camera techniques. His positive energy helped lift the disappointed mood of the group. Even without the auroras, he did his best to turn the evening into a memorable experience for the kids, which we really appreciated. Overall, while it was hard not to feel let down by the lack of aurora borealis, the personal touches and kid-friendly approach from our guide made the night more enjoyable than it could have been. If you're traveling with children, this tour company clearly knows how to connect with families. Just be sure to double-check the weather forecast before booking!

Great experience! The tour lasted the time indicated and we chased the Northern Lights everywhere until we could see them.

INCREDIBLE experience that combined seeing the lights, walking on a frozen lake, learning about how to spot the northern lights, forecasting and how to capture them on camera. Our guide Michal was a great photographer and was funny and informative! The group we went touring with were from Brazil and they were so fun to be with! We also got to roast some sausages and drink hot chocolate! So delicious!

A big thanks to our Guide Genis, even if the weather was not helping to see the northern lights, he did his best driving more than he should do, just to give us that emotional moment that all of us were waiting for, and yes, finally we got some northern lights moments, his experience, patience and knowledge made our experience just Fantastic. Thank you March 28th 2025

We had an incredible small group with people from all over the world with an enthusiastic guide. We drove about an hour east, where there was no light pollution. We had an incredible light show. If we had done a private tour, we would have gone home after we saw the lights, but the best came around 1030 pm. I highly recommend this tour.

The most important thing to remember is that there can never be a guarantee that the Northern Lights will 'perform'. So much depends upon weather conditions as well as solar activity. There was a very modest amount of Northern Light activity during our excursion but we still enjoyed the trip out into the snow-covered landscape, the welcome snack over a crackling fire and the assistance and commentary of our very knowledgeable guide.
