Welcome to the beautiful islands of Lofoten! This is a private tour, customized for visitors that want to see the best of Lofoten. Your guide, Gunnar, will come and get you at your location in Leknes and you will start exploring Lofoten right away. Sit back and relax in your private car. Here you will have a panoramic view of the dramatic peaks, the crystal- clear water, and the white sandy beaches that are typical for Lofoten. We have planned several stops along the way, and we can make as many extra stops as you want. We will explore the unique landscape, visit beaches ranked as the most beautiful in the world and have a closer look at the small fishing villages where you find the traditional red and yellow wooden fisherman’s cabins. You will have the chance to taste some local food and your guide will tell you about the history of Lofoten and how people now live their lives in this arctic part of the world. Hopefully, we also get to see some wildlife during our drive.

What To Expect
Haukland Beach
This beach is ranged by Lonely Planet as the best beach in Europe in 2024, and I will show you why. Hauklandstranda is surrounded by dramatic mountains and it offers a breathtaking panoramic view. The beach is know for its white sand and crystal- clear turquoise waters. It is also an excellent spot for hiking.
Lofoten Seaweed Shop
Let´s stop by the locals! In Lofoten, ever since The Viking Age people have been dependent on the ocean. Lately, a new generation is looking for a more sustainable way of living where they are harvesting seaweed from the ocean. Learn more about seaweed when we visit a local company called Lofoten Seaweed.

5.00We took a private tour with Gunnar from Reine and he knew how to include the wonder of Lofoten Island and its prized gems. He offered us the ability to customize the trip with walks, photos and tea service among nature. He also informed us with modern, sustainable local economy (seaweed farming) highlights and knew where to stop for a delicious lunch experience (Nusfjord). He even had a traditional Nordic snack for hiking ! A wonderful day among the flora and fauna of the arctic, including setting us up for Northern Lights indicators that night. We followed his advice and captured quite a magnetic storm above our cabin in Reine. Highly recommend Gunnar to visitors that want local knowledge from a Norway native.

5.00We had the absolute pleasure of spending an evening with Gunnar during our recent trip to Lofoten, and it was easily one of the highlights of our entire journey. From the moment we met, it was clear how deeply thoughtful and intentional he is in everything he does. He thoughtfully paced the hike to suit everyone, offering just the right mix of challenge and ease, and his deep knowledge of the region made the experience both meaningful and memorable. What really stood out were the small, personal touches: the homemade cinnamon buns he brought along, the warm drinks shared at just the right moment, and the genuine conversations we had along the way. He engaged with each of us from the teens to the adults in a way that felt honest and open-hearted. We saw breathtaking landscapes, learned about local wildlife (the elusive eagle), and ended the night under the midnight sun feeling grateful, grounded, and inspired. 5.00While taking a cruise with AIDA with my German wife and family we booked Gunnar for a day. I can honestly say it was the best tour I have ever done. Gunnar was so gracious and friendly and knowledgeable. We even talked about the governing systems in Norway and history not only of the people but the land. It was without a doubt well worth the price!!! His German and English were fantastic!!!! He also added personal touches with coffee and chocolates! Next time we are here we will book him again!

5.00A wonderful day being driven around by Gunnar in his very comfortable electric car (this is Norway). He is very knowledgeable about the Lofoten Islands and we had a very relaxing and fun time in his company. We saw some spectacular scenery and visited some very interesting villages during the day we had there. Coffee was provided as well, along with a Kvikk Lunsj (a Norwegian Kit-Kat). The Sea Weed shop was a good stop as well. Thanks Gunnar

5.00We had a lovely excursion from our cruise ship with Gunnar. He was so kind and friendly, and he had clearly thought about the itinerary that would suit us, based on our interests and what we had discussed with him. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the area and knew just the right places to take us to. The little extra bits that he did were really appreciated, from hot drinks and a snack, to looking at (and tasting) local produce. It was a really fulfilling and enjoyable experience and we would highly recommend Gunnar. It was the best experience we had on our cruise.

5.00Amazing trip. Gunnar was a perfect host who loves his country with a passion. Lofoten Islands has always been on our bucket list and we would say its our favourite place in Norway now. Gunnar made us a coffee and we had a Kit Kat at all the perfect locations. We recommend the fish soup stop for lunch and a stop at the seaweed shop is interesting. Cruising around in his car was so easy. Apart from that, leave it with Gunnar and he will take you everywhere. There is no need to do a cruise tour. Just book with him. The cruise trips did not go to half the places we went and we highly recommend this tour. Thanks again
