Kwame's sculptures are amazing. And his dream to pay homage through his art to all those enslaved over hundreds of years, along with their ancestors, is deeply felt by him. The introduction video is beautifully made and gives a good foundation to understanding Kwame's mission and vision. I love the fact that he has taken some of his works to Alabama, USA to help enlighten and educate there too. This is a powerful project, and it's great to know that he now has many other young local artists joining him to create and educate too. Beautifully guided on the day. The time and space given to consider this history, and to reflect upon our own individual responsibility to speak out when we see another human being wronged, is both humbling and inspiring. A very moving day. Only drawbacks - we spent 2 hours driving there, another 2 hours driving back, and only 90 minutes at the site. So, I did feel a little rushed. And it was a tad expensive. For the price, perhaps organisers could consider allowing a little more time at the site, and as it is almost midday by the end of site tour, maybe a lunch could be offered there?
