This experience gives a balanced overview of the city — including the Imperial Palace area (AM tour), Tsukiji Outer Market (AM tour) / Akihabara (PM tour), Asakusa (PM tour), and Ryogoku (PM tour).
But this is more than a typical highlights tour. In addition to Tokyo’s most popular sightseeing spots, you’ll ride through hidden backstreets, quiet neighborhoods, and local areas that most visitors never see.
Because this is a small-group bicycle tour, we can access narrow alleys and authentic streets that buses and large tours cannot reach. You’ll experience both the iconic landmarks and the everyday life of Tokyo in one dynamic ride.
This combination of must-see sights and hidden gems makes it a uniquely immersive way to understand the city — far beyond what you could experience on foot or by public transport.
It’s the perfect balance between Tokyo’s famous icons and its secret local character.

Family bike tour in Tokyo, accompanied by Ted, a guide. His infectious enthusiasm and knowledge made it a particularly fascinating experience. We got a nuanced look at Japanese life and culture. An enriching afternoon together – warmly recommended.

This was such a great way to see Tokyo in a short period of time. There was a great flow to the riding and Jenny was very knowledgable and fun to ride with! Highly suggest it and hope to do another tour with them again.

What a great day and great way to visit Tokyo. We opted for the less “touristy” sites and were blessed with views of the Emperors palace grounds, the bustle of the business district and the places rarely visited by tourists. Our guide Jenny, provided clear explanations of what we were seeing during each of the well planned stops. We met up with a Shinto procession celebrating the emperor’s birthday and even got to mix in with the procession for once in a lifetime pictures. Speaking of which, Jenny put together a great picture album of our groups tour, free of charge. And the e-bikes. Easy to use and a blessing for the 15 km ride. Made it a very easy trip. I can’t say enough good things about this tour. 3 hours of enjoyment.

WOW,,,! Jenny is awesome. We had the best EMPEROR birthday ride around Tokyo! She kept us safe and showed us very beautiful parts of Tokyo, old and new. We rode for more than 3 hours and enjoyed every minute. She is fun to be with, knowledgeable and really took time to answer questions . I highly recommend this e bike tour company and especially Jenny. Thank you Arigato Jenny !

It is a great outdoor experience to see much of Tokyo. It is slow paced and the e-bikes make it easy.

The sights we were taken to were interesting enough but were a little lack lustre. Cycling through a different part of Tokyo was also fun but I wouldn’t say we came across any “gems”. The attitude of the tour guide and the other tour operator was disappointing. Despite my high cardio fitness level and 15 years of strength training, I was treated like a sedentary imbecile. I was ignored except when it was suggested to me several times to turn on the electric part of the bike. Not sure why as all in our group were keeping together and no one was struggling with the cycling aspect. Possibly because I’m a woman in my fifties? Newsflash: you don’t need the “e” part of these bikes for this tour. It’s flat and the pace is relaxed. If you want to be a book judged by its cover whilst being slightly bored, this is the tour for you!

How good was this tour with Cycle Holiday Tokyo. It was magic! The choice of a more localised cycle tour in Tokyo got us into the back streets, markets and hidden byways of the City. Jenny our guide was knowledgeable, spoke perfect English and had a wicked sense of humor, while pointing out the customs, culture and parts of the City you might otherwise miss. If you're spending a few days in Tokyo - sign yourself in.
