Today was my second time doing the Old Quebec walking tour with this company. Two years ago I took my 70 year old mother on a trip to Quebec, and this current visit is with my 23 year old daughter. (So while I noted “friends” in the Trip Advisor options, it is technically family; however I don’t think walking tours learning about history tend to be great for kids and I don’t want to give that impression.) While an excellent time was had both in 2024 with Claude, and today with Sam, I will focus on today’s tour in the review. The office/meeting point is easy to find, and the welcome is warm. Sam greeted us and made an effort to remember our names. We were offered water and sunblock while we waited to get going. The waiting area is comfortable, and it’s a nice chance to chat with your fellow travelers. It’s currently the off season so our group was small, yet mighty! South Africa, England, Australia, and the US were represented in our small group. From the moment you are out the door, the learning begins. Sam was a great teacher of Quebec history, leading with explaining the motto of the people, “Je me souviens,” and tying “I remember” throughout our education for the next two hours. Maybe a small detail to some, but clearly a very deep meaning behind the pride, history, and people’s connection to this beautiful city. We stopped at many locations in the lower town. Every step with enthusiasm, and open dialogue for questions and simply wanting to learn more. Nothing felt rushed. We took the funicular to the upper town. While a short ride, it sure is fun and way nicer than climbing stairs! I won’t detail the locations that we visited, because you should just book your tour- but one thing I enjoyed having done this twice is that my guides covered some different history and interesting points, so I learned and saw new things- so it wasn’t just a tour played on repeat. However, both times were so enjoyable. I love the genuine love of history and Quebec that shine through the guides, and as a visitor it lends a whole new level of respect to this historic city.

I understand that we can't control the weather. This tour has no rain plan or alternative. Our tour guide was great and knew tons of history and facts. He cut the tour short because of the rain. I would have rather he cancelled and let us reschedule especially with no rain contingiency. Not sure we got the experience eventhough we paid full price.

Veronica was a wonderful tour guide, with informative insights into many historical landmarks of upper and lower Quebec City. She also gave us excellent recommendations for local cuisine, which we took advantage of!

Dennis (American spelling) was fantastic and I can not recommend him enough. He was so knowledgeable and informative of the city/history. I have done many tours and he is by far the best guide we have ever had in various countries.

Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and engaged. The pace was good even for a mobile senior - and as advertised, mostly flat. Taking the funicular as part of the tour was a plus!

It goes rain or shine. It happened to be rain for us. Our tour guide, Denis, was very concerned about everyone’s comfort and made sure we had ponchos or umbrellas. He offered a warm up stop half way through the tour. It’s an excellent tour and Denis was very knowledgeable about Quebec history. He even provided a list of restaurants that are very popular.

It was raining and cold and there were snow banks to step over - but we still learned a lot and enjoyed it! Our guide was excellent
