Learn about its history, unique forts, impressive architecture and admire its blue cobblestones streets and charming colorful houses.
Then discover the influence of our African heritage at the picturesque little town of Loíza, Capital of our African Tradition. Start with a beautiful coastal drive and authentic lunch at the beachfront kiosks of Piñones. Later meet a renowned painter and artist at his house and workshop and stop at an African Mask Store. End your day having fun and learning about our Bomba Afro-Caribbean music joining a class by recognized local musicians and dance to the beat of drums.
Minimum age is 2 years old. Minimum tour group size is 8 people.

What To Expect
Old San Juan
We will start early heading to the iconic Old San Juan Historical Site, considered one of the oldest towns in America and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Beginning with a sightseeing drive, including picture stops, will give you the chance to appreciate the landmarks of the Capitol Building, San Cristobal Fort and El Morro Fort. Then as we began the walking tour, you will learn about its fascinating history, unique forts, the city walls, the impressive architecture and admire its cobblestones streets and charming colorful houses, surrounded by amazing views to the San Juan Bay.
As we drive to the next stop of Loiza town, you will appreciate other areas of the New San Juan, like the ocean front touristic sector and streets filled with art murals as an initiative to revive less visited areas.

5.00Our group of 10 adults truly enjoyed this tour!! Loved learning more about the African heritage/culture of PR. We enjoyed the flavors of the local cuisine, and learned about the heritage/history of this area from a local artist as we toured his studio/art. We ended the afternoon learning about bomba dance , a local puertorican dance with deep African roots. We had a fun and enjoyable dance class on the most beautiful beach setting. Lots of laughs were had!! Yamile was an amazing tour guide!! She contributed to our educational experience with her deep knowledge of the area. She is clearly passionate about her work and enhancing our experience of her beautiful island! As a perk she took video and photos of our dancing experience!! Excellent! Would highly recommend

5.00I did not take this tour, but I have serious regrets that I was not there to experience what seems to be the most epic day of my friends’ vacation. My husband and I met up with them after they spent a few days traveling around Puerto Rico. For the second half of our group trip, this experience was talked about at least 5 times a day. The laughter and fun that they shared during their time lived on throughout the trip and even after we got home. If your group of friends want to have the time of your life and make everlasting memories, do this!

5.00We had an absolute blast with Yamile. She gave us tons of great information about everywhere we went, explained about the Loíza culture, food, etc. We visited a local Loiza artist’s house, which also is his gallery. The artist gave us a full tour and explained his art pieces and what motivated him. Yamile then took us to learn bomba dancing, which was an amazing experience. The entire day was very well organized and run very smoothly. Thank you Yamile for a great excursion to Loiza!!! I highly recommend her.

5.00Very interesting tour. I was not expecting much. But the cultural heritage, food, music and dancing along with visiting a local artists workshop was excellent experience. Bomba dancing lesson was very challenging to white people..

5.00This tour was the best part of our vacation! Yamile is a wonderful tour guide. She is so knowledgeable and truly has a passion for the history and culture of Puerto Rico. We had a group of 6 adults and 1 toddler. She made us all feel like her family. Spending the morning in Old San Juan, having lunch in Loíza, visiting the home of the talented artist, Samuel Lind, to Bomba dancing on the beach with the amazing dance instructor, Shelia. Words can't express how amazing and special this tour was. I would recommend Yamile and this tour for anyone visiting Puerto Rico.

5.00This is a tour you cannot miss! My family is originally from Puerto Rico and we decided to stay in San Juan to celebrate my father's birthday. With Yamile, you are getting the real deal! You are fully immersed in the amazing food, culture, art and traditions of Puerto Rico. By the end of the tour you will have a deeper understanding and appreciation of the flavors, sights, sounds and the true local culture. Yamile is the BEST and more importantly, she loves what she does. If you don't book this tour, then you are truly missing out on one of the best experiences Puerto Rico has to offer.
