Our guide, Remy, made this an unforgettable experience. We had a private full day tour and he gave us options based on our interests, also keeping in mind the shorter daylight hours. Remy's knowledge and story telling is exceptional. A highlight was a visit to a small church where two young American medics tended to the wounded, both allied and German, blood stains still visible on the church pews. Very moving. Would love to return and take the Battle of the Hedgerows tour.

My husband and I took our two kids (10 and 8 yo) on a full day private tour of Normandy. Our tour guide, Antoine, was amazing! Antoine was welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating towards our interests and differing levels of historical knowledge, especially the kids. We covered a lot of ground and information in 8 hours, and all walked away with smiles. I would def recommend Overlord Tours for those looking to have a memorable experience in Normandy!

A full day experience chock full of interesting information and visuals to convey this historic moment. In addition to visiting the beaches and American Cemetery we went to St. Marie-Eglise where the airborne efforts were. We visited a small church where medics set up a clinic and the La Fiere bridge where a pivotal battle took place. Tour guides were experts in military history and so engaging in their descriptions of what was happening on many fronts in 1944. One of tour guide’s family lived in the area so his personal antidotes added to setting the scene for us. Phenomenal tour. So touching how France still holds so much gratitude for all those that helped save them. Carol

We went on a private all day tour of the Omaha, Utah beaches & related WW 2 sites. Our guide,Thierry, was amazing as he had a wealth of information mixed with personal stories about different individuals. He was extremely detailed in his explanations about the beach landings & battles. He made everything so interesting & readily answered questions. He is so personable and it was a pleasure to spend the day with him. One of the most memorable parts was the visit to the American cemetery. It is a sacred sight and evokes an emotional response for many people. I highly recommend this tour company for their organization & responsiveness to emails. Many thanks to Thierry for being such a wonderful guide. I highly suggest that you take a tour with him!

We booked a full day tour with Overlord and it was the best decision of our two week trip. Jack Robert was our tour guide and he did a perfect job for us. We saw the beaches, the monuments and it was all extremely well done. He provided great commentary, had actual photos of events, and was very knowledgeable. I compared 5 different tour companies before I chose Overlord and it was a great choice. One of the things we particularly liked was that Jack had figured out when it was low tide on Omaha Beach and asked if we would like to see what the beach looked like when it was low tide - since that was when the soldiers landed on D Day. We said we would and he changed the order of things we were going to do so that we could see low tide at the end of the day. We sat on the steps of the monument, saw the width of the beach, felt the wind blowing on our faces and it was amazing. Jack was super professional in giving us great informationa with individual stories to illustrate. We were particularly interesterd in the battle of the Hedge Rows and he took us right there and did that first since that was what we were eager to see. He rearranged to suit our interests and made this a memory of a lifetime. We just got lucky when we got him!

We had a wonderful day with Remy our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history and the events that took place in Normandy. Even though we did our research prior to visiting the area, he was able to provide additional insight and stories that really captivated our attention. We highly recommend this tour company. Everything ran smoothly, and the vehicles were very comfortable.

As a lifelong student of WWII, it has always been my dream to walk the beaches of Normandy. After an extensive search, I chose Overlord Tours—and I could not have made a better decision. Since I was bringing nine family members on this once-in-a-lifetime trip with my elderly parents, I booked a private tour. The process was seamless from start to finish. Communication was prompt, professional, and reassuring. I specifically requested a knowledgeable guide who could handle a deep dive into the history, and we were fortunate to be paired with Théo. I cannot say enough about this remarkable young man. A Bayeux native, Théo filled the day with local stories and a personal family history that added powerful emotional context to each stop. His depth of knowledge was extraordinary—thorough, engaging, and insightful. I thought I knew a lot about D-Day, but I left the tour having learned so much more. This experience was far more than a history lesson—it was moving, humbling, and unforgettable. I’m already planning a return trip to explore the English and Canadian beaches, and there is no doubt I will once again choose Overlord Tours. I will also request Théo by name. If Normandy is on your list, do not miss this tour.
