Joan of Arc, a tragic heroin of the 100 years war who was burnt in Rouen, William the conqueror, Rollo the Viking, Richard the Lion Heart (the latter being mentioned in the adventures of Robin Hood) are some of the greatest figures who shaped the history of Rouen, of Normandy, and the relationships between France and England for more than 100 years. You'll get thrilled to learn about their lives while walking on their footstep.
By the way! You'll also admire the tallest gothic cathedral of France that impressionist artist Claude Monet obsessively painted: Cathedral Notre-Dame of Rouen, being the actual tallest gothic cathedral of France.

What To Expect
With Love From Paris Tours
• You'll meet your personal tour guide at a meeting point received upon booking • Excursion starts at 7:30 to 8am - Back in Paris at about 5-ish pm. Duration: About 8 hours • Scenic train from Paris to Rouen in Normandy. • In Rouen, you'll explore the historic and quaint downtown with its medieval architecture. • You'll admire the tallest gothic cathedral of France, Notre-Dame of Rouen, that was recurrently painted by impressionist Claude Monet. • You'll see the place where Joan of Arc was executed, burnt at the stake. • You'll admire and learn about the richly, beautifully crafted city clock tower of Rouen, one of the oldests of France. • You'll discover many other true hidden gems on your tour route such as a former medieval cemetery (very busy during the black plague). • Spectacular views along the way • Possibility to eat at one of several lunch accommodations in town (not included) • Your tour will cheerfully end upon our return to Paris
Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Rouen
As the tallest cathedral of France, Notre-Dame (Our Lady) of Rouen has been painted several times by Impressionist painter Claude Monet who loved recreate the sunlight variations on it throughout the day. Inside the church lies many treasures, among which the tomb effigy of the duke of Normandy and king of England Richard Lion Heart, and other powerful medieval figures of Normandy and France.

5.00The experience with Milan was amazing , we had a glitchy start but that was an error on my part, but he was still accomodating and despite our late arrival, once onboard the train to Rouen. The scenery was changing and beautiful, once at Rouen, walking the through the streets and having Milan tell us about the history and show us the steps towards Joan of Arcs life and end of life, was an experience . Our 13 year old loved the day and was made special with Milan’s knowledge and passion . Thank you for a wonderful day and hope to see you again on one of your other tours .. highly recommend this tour

5.00Milan treated us like friends visiting his country! We had an amazing experience thanks to him. He guided us perfectly to where we needed to go, gave us great information and history about each location. We would not have known how to make our way around these cities without him! Giverney was my favorite, Monet’s house truly stunning and following St. Joan of Arc’s footsteps were incredible. We enjoyed exceptional experiences and are grateful to Milan for making our trip even more special!! We would recommend him 1,000%!!!!

5.00We had the most spectacular day with With Love From Paris. We did the Rouen Day trip with Joan of Arc highlights. It was the best tour of our trip. Milan was a fantastic guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and easy to listen to. He kept us engaged and interested the entire day. Time flew by. I would highly recommend him and his company to anyone traveling to Paris or the surrounding areas. You won’t find better.

5.00This was without a doubt the best tour I have ever been on (and I’ve been on a few) while the tour itself was amazing, what made it far beyond anything I’ve experienced so far was our guide, Milan. Hands down Milan is a true professional and created a magical day that we will never forget. From the communication prior to the tour, to the little touches along the way Milan made this day for us smooth, educational, wonderful and memorable. We were met by Milan exactly where directed, and smoothly boarded our train, Milan providing many points of interest along the way. My partner and I travelled with two young children and Milan made sure that they were entertained the whole journey and even surprised us all by buying them a bag of chocolates from one of the stores in Rouen. We chose this tour to see Rouen and learn about Joan of Arc. We were not disappointed, this was a terrific insight into all things Joan of Arc and I for one learned a lot more than I knew prior. But it didn’t stop there, the history of Paris, France, Rouen, and many more were all passed to us by Milan throughout the day. His knowledge and passion for his country and its history was astounding. We will definitely travel back to France in the future and would not hesitate to take another tour with Milan, a wonderful guide and true professional. At the conclusion of our journey Milan escorted us to the nearest taxi making sure we were safely in the car and informed our driver of or hotel. There was not a single thing for us to worry about the entire day. Absolutely fabulous!!

5.00We had a wonderful day touring Rouen with Milan . Milan gave us a historic and current perspective of all we saw. His sense of humor and ease of conversation was relaxing. From the time we sat on the Train until we sadly said Au Revoir the day was exceptional. The sites and the food will not be forgotten. Looking forward to taking more tours with Milan in the years to come.
