More than just a drive, this journey offers an immersive and interactive way to truly experience Taroko Gorge and Hualien
The safest and easiest way to reach Taroko Gorge from Taipei is by train. Pick-up is available at your Hualien hotel or Hualien Train Station. Staying one night in Hualien is recommended for a relaxed trip, but a day trip is also possible with an early train and evening return. Driving is not recommended due to long mountain roads, falling rocks, and fast trucks. The train is safer and hassle-free
Due to ongoing road controls and traffic restrictions in the mountain area, pick-up and drop-off at Silks Place Taroko are not available
Weather conditions in mountainous areas can change quickly. Light rain or cloudy weather does not necessarily result in cancellation, and tours generally operate as scheduled in normal rainy conditions. Cancellations or refunds due to weather apply only when the tour is deemed unsafe to operate by the operator or local authorities, typically in cases of natural disasters such as typhoons or flooding
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Taroko National Park
One of Taiwan’s most famous destinations, Taroko National Park is known for its marble canyons, lush forests, and towering peaks. The Liwu River has carved the stunning 18 km Taroko Gorge, where sheer marble cliffs rise above turquoise waters. Our visit includes highlights such as the Taroko Gorge Entrance Arch, Visitor Center, and scenic viewpoints along the gorge. Although some trails remain closed due to the April 2024 earthquake, your experienced guide will take you to the best open spots with breathtaking views and hidden photo opportunities. We dedicate a significant part of the day to exploring Taroko, with short walks, plenty of photo stops, and a relaxed pace. Sightseeing duration may vary with traffic, weather, or park rules, but your guide will adjust the itinerary to ensure the best experience. This full-day tour usually lasts around 8 hours, so starting before 8:30 AM is recommended.

Our guide Alex gave a great tour. It was a full day covering both Taroko park and Hualien. We got to see amazing sceneries and learn the historical background. He took us to many spots and spent good quality time in each one. We would have only seen a small fraction by ourselves. It was adventurous and educational. His outgoing personality made the trip so much more fun for us too. Well worth the money and I would highly recommend it, especially for people going there for the first time.

Sam was an outstanding private guide who made my solo day in Taroko Gorge absolutely unforgettable. He showed me a ton of interesting and unique sites, from breathtaking marble cliffs and hidden trails to stunning overlooks and lesser-known spots with incredible views and cultural insights. His deep knowledge, enthusiasm, and personalized attention made the experience feel special and stress-free. I highly recommend him for anyone exploring Hualien's natural wonders!

Had one day in Hualien and I decided to join a tour to make it easy. Turns out I was the only one that booked and so it was the guide, Alex, and myself. There are still bits and pieces of Taroko not open and it would take days of exploring to go to all the spots, even with only parts open. Alex was great and showed me a lot of interesting places most of which without a vehicle I would have missed. He was great!

The tour was a great experience. My guide, Sam was knowledgeable and flexible. He kindly gave me detailed explanations for the view and also proposes good options on each occasion. Taroko National Park was partly closed (especially trails) but it's not only sorry, also gave me how powerful the earthquake was and make us humble. I hope that the closed trails will be reopened soon and come back again to experience further.

We booked a private one-day tour of Taroko Gorge from Hualien, and even though the trails were closed due to the 2024 earthquake, it was a wonderful experiences — all thanks to our amazing guide, Jimmy. He was incredibly friendly and easygoing, and his knowledge of the area made the entire day feel relaxed and genuinely enjoyable. One of the things that made this tour truly special was the extra personal touches Jimmy added. Beyond guiding us through the sights, he introduced us to Hualien’s best local snacks, including: • Crispy spring onion pancake with egg • Refreshing lemon and kumquat juice • Soft, chewy local mochi • Flavor-packed grilled sausages with local pepper And at Qixingtan Beach, Jimmy even taught us how to identify the different types of pebbles — from shimmering quartz to smooth white marble and speckled granite. It was such a simple yet meaningful moment that helped us appreciate the geology and beauty of the area even more. Another big plus is that this tour is fully private and flexible. Jimmy adjusted the route and pacing based on our interests, added photo stops whenever we asked, and made the entire day feel personalised and unhurried.

We spent a fantastic day at Taroko. Our guide, Alex, is knowledgeable, energetic (and funny). The park, the temple and the Qixingtan beach are very scenic, and well worth a visit. (The coffin bread for lunch was good too!)

A nice one day tour to discover pieces of Taroko park, the cliff, waterfall, trails, temple and local food with a dedicated local guide.

Amazing experience with beautiful views and the best tour guide! Our tour guide, Jimmy, was kind and knowledgeable. As advertised, at 8am he was at our hotel right on time. He drove us through Taroko, showed us the best picture spots, and also helped us take photos. He knew everything about the history of Taroko, scenic spots, and the best food and places to eat - things we never would've known to try if we hadn't booked this tour. Thank you Jimmy!

We had a private tour with Alex in Hualien and Taroko yesterday and it was one of the best experiences of our Taiwan trip. Alex is incredibly friendly, humorous and knows the region inside out. He not only showed us the most beautiful places, but also explained a lot about nature, local culture and history. What was particularly impressive was how much he knew about the surroundings and how understandably he could explain everything. The tour was perfectly organized and was completely tailored to our wishes. Alex has always made sure we had enough time and feel comfortable. We felt safe and well accompanied at all times. A tour with Alex is 100 percent worthwhile. Absolutely recommended for those who want to experience Taroko properly.

There were no words to describe the beauty of Hualien, I was just awestruck with the natural beauty here! My tour starts with Sam picking me up at my hotel, and from then on I was in good hands. Sam is a very experienced trail hiker , well versed in English , a Hualien local himself, very friendly and knowledgeable about all the history and details of Hualien, there’s no one better guide than him. Although some trails were not fully opened due to the damage from recent earthquake , but Hualien is slowly recovering from that, so whether you’re looking for a thrilled and adventurous hike, or just a leisure walk around Hualien, look no further, please do contact them! Hualien definitely has the potential to be one of the best travel destinations in the world.
