More than just a drive, this journey offers an immersive and interactive way to truly experience Taroko Gorge and Hualien
The safest and easiest way to reach Taroko Gorge from Taipei is by train. Pick-up is available at your Hualien hotel or Hualien Train Station. Staying one night in Hualien is recommended for a relaxed trip, but a day trip is also possible with an early train and evening return. Driving is not recommended due to long mountain roads, falling rocks, and fast trucks. The train is safer and hassle-free
Due to ongoing road controls and traffic restrictions in the mountain area, pick-up and drop-off at Silks Place Taroko are not available
Weather conditions in mountainous areas can change quickly. Light rain or cloudy weather does not necessarily result in cancellation, and tours generally operate as scheduled in normal rainy conditions. Cancellations or refunds due to weather apply only when the tour is deemed unsafe to operate by the operator or local authorities, typically in cases of natural disasters such as typhoons or flooding
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Taroko National Park
One of Taiwan’s most famous destinations, Taroko National Park is known for its marble canyons, lush forests, and towering peaks. The Liwu River has carved the stunning 18 km Taroko Gorge, where sheer marble cliffs rise above turquoise waters. Our visit includes highlights such as the Taroko Gorge Entrance Arch, Visitor Center, and scenic viewpoints along the gorge. Although some trails remain closed due to the April 2024 earthquake, your experienced guide will take you to the best open spots with breathtaking views and hidden photo opportunities. We dedicate a significant part of the day to exploring Taroko, with short walks, plenty of photo stops, and a relaxed pace. Sightseeing duration may vary with traffic, weather, or park rules, but your guide will adjust the itinerary to ensure the best experience. This full-day tour usually lasts around 8 hours, so starting before 8:30 AM is recommended.

We booked a last-minute tour with Amazing Taiwan Tour for a day in Taroko and the surrounding area. Our tour guide/driver, 金克行, met us at the train station. He was an excellent guide who explained the history and cultural background clearly, and he timed the tour carefully around road closures due to post-earthquake construction in 2024. We had an excellent day! Thank you very much!

Sam is an outstanding guide and truly made this tour unforgettable! His knowledge of history is incredible, and he shared fascinating insights at every stop along the way. The itinerary was exceptionally well curated — from the breathtaking Taroko National Park to the beach, amazing food spots, a short hike to a beautiful waterfall, and finishing at the General House. We loved every single minute of the tour and learned so much about the culture and stunning landscape. On top of that, Sam is such a friendly person. Spending the day with him was an absolute pleasure and a lot of fun. We couldn’t recommend him more highly!

Had a wonderful day with Alex. He is very cheerful, funny and knowledgeable. Throughout the day, he shared all kinds of interesting information about the areas we visited, along with memories from his childhood since he grew up around Hualien and Taroko! Even though parts of the national park are still closed due to the 2024 earthquake, Alex knew exactly where to go and showed me many beautiful scenic spots. The rest of the stops were also very enjoyable and versatile, from hiking to a waterfall to visiting the beach. Alex went above and beyond to make the tour enjoyable and comfortable, which I really appreciated. I would highly recommend this tour and Alex as your tour guide to everyone!

Our tour was outstanding. Our guide, Jimmy, was kind and drove out of his way for us as I messed up pickup (completely my fault!) He was so understanding. Jimmy took us to the Gorge and cliffs and other great spots. He bought us custard apple to try and recommend great snacks and a fantastic lunch spot. His English is good and he knew a lot about the area and the trees and plants (which my husband really appreciated). I would 100% recommend taking a Taroko Gorge tour - the gorge is amazingly beautiful and everything was taken care of, which made the day so easy. Thank you Jimmy for such a great day that my whole family (kids aged 15 and 16) really enjoyed.

This visit, although reduced following the earthquake, was made fantastic thanks to the kindness and skills of the VINCENT guide. It adapts to all circumstances and makes the journey exciting. Thank you very much.
