Taroko National Park
One of Taiwan’s most famous destinations, Taroko National Park is known for its marble canyons, lush forests, and towering peaks. The Liwu River has carved the stunning 18 km Taroko Gorge, where sheer marble cliffs rise above turquoise waters. Our visit includes highlights such as the Taroko Gorge Entrance Arch, Visitor Center, and scenic viewpoints along the gorge. Although some trails remain closed due to the April 2024 earthquake, your experienced guide will take you to the best open spots with breathtaking views and hidden photo opportunities. We dedicate a significant part of the day to exploring Taroko, with short walks, plenty of photo stops, and a relaxed pace. Sightseeing duration may vary with traffic, weather, or park rules, but your guide will adjust the itinerary to ensure the best experience. This full-day tour usually lasts around 8 hours, so starting before 8:30 AM is recommended.

We booked a private one-day tour of Taroko Gorge from Hualien, and even though the trails were closed due to the 2024 earthquake, it was a wonderful experiences — all thanks to our amazing guide, Jimmy. He was incredibly friendly and easygoing, and his knowledge of the area made the entire day feel relaxed and genuinely enjoyable. One of the things that made this tour truly special was the extra personal touches Jimmy added. Beyond guiding us through the sights, he introduced us to Hualien’s best local snacks, including: • Crispy spring onion pancake with egg • Refreshing lemon and kumquat juice • Soft, chewy local mochi • Flavor-packed grilled sausages with local pepper And at Qixingtan Beach, Jimmy even taught us how to identify the different types of pebbles — from shimmering quartz to smooth white marble and speckled granite. It was such a simple yet meaningful moment that helped us appreciate the geology and beauty of the area even more. Another big plus is that this tour is fully private and flexible. Jimmy adjusted the route and pacing based on our interests, added photo stops whenever we asked, and made the entire day feel personalised and unhurried.

We spent a fantastic day at Taroko. Our guide, Alex, is knowledgeable, energetic (and funny). The park, the temple and the Qixingtan beach are very scenic, and well worth a visit. (The coffin bread for lunch was good too!)

Amazing experience with beautiful views and the best tour guide! Our tour guide, Jimmy, was kind and knowledgeable. As advertised, at 8am he was at our hotel right on time. He drove us through Taroko, showed us the best picture spots, and also helped us take photos. He knew everything about the history of Taroko, scenic spots, and the best food and places to eat - things we never would've known to try if we hadn't booked this tour. Thank you Jimmy!

We had a private tour with Alex in Hualien and Taroko yesterday and it was one of the best experiences of our Taiwan trip. Alex is incredibly friendly, humorous and knows the region inside out. He not only showed us the most beautiful places, but also explained a lot about nature, local culture and history. What was particularly impressive was how much he knew about the surroundings and how understandably he could explain everything. The tour was perfectly organized and was completely tailored to our wishes. Alex has always made sure we had enough time and feel comfortable. We felt safe and well accompanied at all times. A tour with Alex is 100 percent worthwhile. Absolutely recommended for those who want to experience Taroko properly.

There were no words to describe the beauty of Hualien, I was just awestruck with the natural beauty here! My tour starts with Sam picking me up at my hotel, and from then on I was in good hands. Sam is a very experienced trail hiker , well versed in English , a Hualien local himself, very friendly and knowledgeable about all the history and details of Hualien, there’s no one better guide than him. Although some trails were not fully opened due to the damage from recent earthquake , but Hualien is slowly recovering from that, so whether you’re looking for a thrilled and adventurous hike, or just a leisure walk around Hualien, look no further, please do contact them! Hualien definitely has the potential to be one of the best travel destinations in the world.

The tour was fantastic. It was exceptionally well timed and struck an excellent balance between walking, driving, incredible scenery, culture and food experiences. Alex was professional, friendly and considerate. He imparted information in a relevant, yet easy going way with a lovely blend between personal experience and educational knowledge. We can't recommend this tour enough. It is the best thing we have done in Taiwan. Thank you!

We had a great time in Hualien with Sam on 11/22. He was an extremely knowledgeable guide that came on time, drove safely, and brought us to some amazing places. Taroko was still in the process of being rebuilt, so we were only able to go drive through the gorges on the roads that were open and see some scenery. We learned a lot of facts about Hualien and the area. Weather was beautiful in November, though not a lot of flowers were in bloom. The lunch rec was also some amazing aboriginal food (though this could be catered)! Other sites like Sekul falls, Qingshui cliffs were also amazing scenery. Hualien had some amazing natural scenery, and really made me want to go back when Taroko is repaired to go on more hikes, and probably a different season with different seasonal activities. Highly recommend this guided tour, definitely wouldn’t have been the same experience without the guide!
