More than just a drive, this journey offers an immersive and interactive way to truly experience Taroko Gorge and Hualien
The safest and easiest way to reach Taroko Gorge from Taipei is by train. Pick-up is available at your Hualien hotel or Hualien Train Station. Staying one night in Hualien is recommended for a relaxed trip, but a day trip is also possible with an early train and evening return. Driving is not recommended due to long mountain roads, falling rocks, and fast trucks. The train is safer and hassle-free
Due to ongoing road controls and traffic restrictions in the mountain area, pick-up and drop-off at Silks Place Taroko are not available
Weather conditions in mountainous areas can change quickly. Light rain or cloudy weather does not necessarily result in cancellation, and tours generally operate as scheduled in normal rainy conditions. Cancellations or refunds due to weather apply only when the tour is deemed unsafe to operate by the operator or local authorities, typically in cases of natural disasters such as typhoons or flooding
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Taroko National Park
One of Taiwan’s most famous destinations, Taroko National Park is known for its marble canyons, lush forests, and towering peaks. The Liwu River has carved the stunning 18 km Taroko Gorge, where sheer marble cliffs rise above turquoise waters. Our visit includes highlights such as the Taroko Gorge Entrance Arch, Visitor Center, and scenic viewpoints along the gorge. Although some trails remain closed due to the April 2024 earthquake, your experienced guide will take you to the best open spots with breathtaking views and hidden photo opportunities. We dedicate a significant part of the day to exploring Taroko, with short walks, plenty of photo stops, and a relaxed pace. Sightseeing duration may vary with traffic, weather, or park rules, but your guide will adjust the itinerary to ensure the best experience. This full-day tour usually lasts around 8 hours, so starting before 8:30 AM is recommended.

We initially tried to get a public bus to Taroko Gorge however the system is quite unreliable. We instead booked a private tour and couldn't be happier. Jimmy was outstanding, he catered the trip for us as we enjoyed taking photos and took us to some very scenic spots not many other people were stopped at and allowed us extra time. Also the hand made mochi and lemonade was the icing on top. We were so thankful for Jimmy having great local knowledge and helping us with this great experience.

This is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a guided tour led by a local. Despite the closure of many trails in Taroko Gorge following the 2022 earthquake, our guide, Jack, knew exactly where to take us to ensure we fully enjoyed the experience. He also shared very interesting insights about the history of the area. As this is a private tour, don’t hesitate to request adjustments to the itinerary and schedule.

Very lucky to get Vincent as our personal English speaking tour guide, not only was he most friendly but extremely knowledgable about Taroko George and his home town, Hualien. His enthusiasm for what he does shone through for the entire day and we were thoroughly entertained. We would highly recommend this tour to all. Thank you Vincent for such a fantastic experience.

Our guide, Vincent, provided great communication from start to finish. Historical and knowledgeable perspectives of not only the gorge but the city of Hualin. You could tell he loves what he does and has years of experience as he used to be an environmental engineer working in the gorge. He was easy to get along with and worked hard to make our day special. Great smile and we throughly enjoyed the day! Thank you.

We had an amazing time on this tour. It was our favorite experience in our entire trip to Taiwan. Our guide, Jimmy, was incredibly knowledgable and had been giving tours of Taroko for 20 years! He knew all the best places to stop to take pictures, get food, and hike and was so kind and patient taking tons of pictures of us and making sure we saw everything we wanted to and more. We can’t recommend this tour enough!

Vincent was our tour guide for Hualien - Taroko day tour. He was highly informative, proactively helpful and making sure that we were comfortable throughout the tour. I was unsure if Taroko was accessible at the time of booking, but there was no need to worry! We visited key points within Taroko, as well as a short trail in Hualien. We also enjoyed indigenous food that he recommended. Thank you Vincent for making this a special trip for us!

My family & I had a wonderful & unrushed time guided by Lion-Yang. Lot of photo opportunities & stunning sights that we got to see. The easy trek upto a waterfall was also something we quite enjoyed. Other than that we lucky to have glorious weather all through the day.

I highly recommend this tour. It is impossible to get to all these scenic places by one's own. Alex gave me a lot of inside information. The weather was bad, the experience was great.
