I had No idea this tour would be so interesting & fun. Indie showed us around - scary loud voice to start with but good volume in amongst all the workings. We saw Fantastic colours in corals & those fish & the details about it all - so good. Just wandering around was so delightful, visually stimulating and (just quietly) ... I learnt things in the best way imaginable. Highly recommend this - even for those hard to motivate. Have fun.

  • Very interesting and colourful tour

There is only one tour a day at 10.00am so make sure you book before arriving. This is a working farm so wear closed-in shoes. They have colouring in tables for the kids on the deck where you wait for the tour. Our lovely guide Nyki was very welcoming and really knows her stuff. On arrival you get a special lens for your phone to use when photographing the coral and a fan as it gets a little warm. First is the inside shed. This shed is under a blue light and this is where you use the lens. Nyki gave a talk about the coral and shows us the 'housekeepers' and then lets us wander around the tanks for a few minutes. She then gathers us back where she feeds some coral and another informative talk about other aspects of coral breeding. We then venture outside where after being under blue light for 30 mins plus, everything looks orange for a few minutes .. weird. Next is the outdoor shed under shade cloth. We get to see more coral and also breeding Nemos and Black and white Clown Fish. There were several hundred species of coral and what was surprising was how small some of them are, just are also very intricate and beautiful animals. A great tour.
