Took 30 years and cost $25 million—a huge sum back then. The walls are 22 feet thick, made of solid stone! 1901: City Hall was completed. At 548 feet, it was the tallest building in the world and is still the tallest masonry building today. Top of the Tower: The 37-foot statue of William Penn on top is the largest statue atop any building in the world.

The open air vintage car gave us a totally immersive experience exploring the history of Philadelphia. Our tour guide was very good sharing his extensive knowledge of each site he took us to. He asked us many times if we wanted to stop so we could walk around sites we enjoyed most. All in our small group of new friends enjoyed our guide and the fun learning experience.

It was wonderful to be able to see from both sides, behind, in front, and up - unubstructed on a beautiful day. The commentary along with questions answered was fantastic. We had quick time to go out and see things up close.
