Arenal Vida Campesina
Enjoy a guided tour of the Arenal Vida Campesina Organic Farm where you will see a wide variety of traditional and non-traditional crops, medicinal plants and taste a harvested fruit, among others. Also as an obligatory step is to go to the TROJA, where we will process the sugar cane in a manual mill, we will have in addition to the juice, the cane in segments and without missing the shot of guaro also from the cane (only for adults). We will visit the animal farm where we will learn about the management of semi-stable animals, methane gas production, vermiculture, we will feed the goats, among others. After this we prepare to make our own corn tortillas and enjoy a typical, organic lunch made with products harvested on the farm (70%) and cooked on the wood stove. At the end you cannot miss our "Café Chorreado" on your table. Our brand of coffee from the Farm and traditional dessert.
Typical lunch, prepared over a wood fire, buffet style.

This tour was so much fun and we got a lot for our money. Our guide was darling with a great sense of humor. The path for the night tour was smooth and easy to walk, plus we were given flashlights that were strong enough to see any creatures visiting that night. The night finished with a delicious dinner where we got to meet the Queen of the family. I highly recommend this tour.

Very interesting-great to learn about the plants. Juan was very good and answered all our questions. Lunch was a big spread and very tasty. The sugar cane drinks were great.

If you’re visiting Costa Rica and looking for something real, meaningful, and unforgettable — this is it. Our organic farm tour with Dylan was an absolute highlight of our trip. From the start, it was clear how much Dylan loves the land and cares about sharing Costa Rican culture. He walked us through the farm, introducing us to all kinds of native fruits, vegetables, and herbs — many we’d never seen or heard of before. He explained everything with so much knowledge and patience, and you could tell he genuinely enjoys what he does. The whole tour was hands-on and super fun — we tasted fresh sugarcane, made tortillas from scratch (which was surprisingly satisfying), and ended with the most delicious home-cooked lunch. It wasn’t just tasty — it felt like something made with heart. One of the moments that really stuck with us: we mentioned we weren’t in the mood for coffee mid-day, so Dylan brought us fresh lemongrass tea instead. That little gesture just showed how thoughtful and attentive he is. Dylan isn’t just a great guide — he’s a genuinely kind person who clearly cares about creating a great experience. This tour felt more like spending time with a friend who’s passionate about their home than a typical tourist activity. Can’t recommend it enough.

The guide was knowledgeable, friendly and thorough. We were running late and the guide waited for us and gave us the full tour. We left with a good understanding of the most common plants in Costa Rica. We loved making our own tortilla for our wonderful typical Costa Rica lunch which was delicious. Definitely recommend this tour for anyone visiting this unique and beautiful country.
