We booked this tour based on the excellent reviews, so our expectations were quite high. Unfortunately, our experience fell well below that. The tour itself is decently structured and takes you to a few interesting spots, but the food was not particularly memorable or exceptional. We also ended the tour still somewhat hungry, which was surprising given how many reviews mention being very full. The biggest issue, however, was the guide. From the beginning, the interaction felt off, but it became increasingly uncomfortable as the tour progressed. When we asked simple questions about the food or what was coming next, we often received dismissive responses like “trust me” or “you should chill,” rather than any meaningful explanation. At times, it felt like questions were not welcome at all. This is especially disappointing on a food tour, where you expect to learn about the dishes and local culture. Instead, the lack of engagement and unfriendly attitude significantly impacted the overall experience. Overall, while the concept of the tour has potential, our experience did not come close to matching the high ratings.

Nick is accommodating to the max, and for someone who grew up in the U.S., understands the needs of tourists’ is A MUST, and oh he speaks fluently and relates very well to the Japanese culture. Thank you Nick for a well deserved, and delivered knowledge of Osaka history from food, culture, common correct way of saying the language to the locals. The smart balls are a treat, it was entertaining to know “ what a fraction of skill “ is needed and what joy it brings! Okini and kudos for a job well done!

Would definitely recommend doing this tour! Our tour guide was Nick, he made the experience a lovely time and we got to see/learn a lot about Osaka Japan! I appreciated the small group size, we ate a LOT of amazing food and got to walk around some really cool areas I wouldn’t have gone by myself! Arrive hungry :)

Brian was really knowledgeable and friendly. We got a lot more out of the tour than I expected. He even took us to a bar that has a volkswagen camoer van parked in the middle of it afterwards, and arranged for us to sit inside for a drink. Would definitely reccomend for a fun night in Osaka
