Set off on a scenic island-hopping adventure on the Oslofjord using the city’s all-electric public ferries, just like the locals. Discover a quieter, more natural side of Oslo as you cruise across open water on a series of short boat journeys, taking in wide views of green islands, charming cabins, and distant hills.
Step ashore on two unique islands. On one, explore coastal paths, forests, meadows, and beaches while learning about over 1,000 years of history and how nature shaped local life. On the other, experience Norway’s cabin culture among colorful wooden cottages and blooming gardens, hearing how these simple retreats have long been a place to slow down and enjoy the outdoors.
Along the way, enjoy stunning viewpoints, fascinating stories, and moments to relax or take photos. Your guide shares local insights throughout, bringing each place to life. Return by ferry with beautiful views of Oslo’s waterfront and Aker Brygge, ending a memorable and refreshing nature escape.

I would go on this tour again in a minute. The guide, John, was incredibly knowledgeable, patient with all questions, and enthusiastic about his job. The day was cold and rainy, but our small, intrepid group embraced it because the islands are rugged and beautiful with fascinating histories and bountiful flora. Highly recommend.

A great way to spend a couple of hours orientating yourself in Oslo. Our guide, Giovanni, was hugely knowledgeable about Oslo, the nature of the islands, and the culture of Norway.

A great mini-tour with our Giovanni who was very friendly and knowledgable on the sights and history of Oslo. Hot drinks and biscuits provided at the short picnic stop en-route. When we win the lottery we will join the waiting list for one of the islands summer cabins!

Excellent trip with Kat who looked after us with hot drinks and shared all her knowledge / history of Oslo / Norway in an easy to understand way. It was really good to see parts of Oslo that the tourists don’t usually get to.

A great morning pottering round 2 of the islands at a leisurely pace. Lovely to see the contrast between one as a nature reserve and the other with Norse cabins/Norwegian summer houses. Our guide Giovanni was fantastic (and served up some epic hot chocolate and biscuits). He was very knowledgeable and the trip was very enjoyable. Sorry for losing one of my shoe spikes Giovanni, hopefully you recovered it on the next tour!

Alicia from Canada was our guide. She was so so good and made the whole trip for us. If anyone’s going on this tour I’d strongly recommend Alicia as a guide.

A wonderful 3.5hr winter excursion walking around 2 of Oslo’s beautiful islands. Our guide, Giovanni was outstanding, taking us on a great mini-adventure, sharing interesting facts and fascinating anecdotes on the history and lifestyle of Oslo and its exceptionally friendly and welcoming people. For those wanting an outdoor experience in Winter, I couldn’t recommend this more highly, and I’m an Aussie who has had to transition from 40 deg C to -8 deg C!
