  • Kawasan Falls was a definite win!

Kawasan Falls was incredible! Splurge on the private tour option, because the McRich Canyoneering guides made it a spectacular experience. Our team were a load of fun, knowledgeable and environmentally aware, had their eye on safety at all times, and even photographed our entire trek. On-site, opt for the zip line, do all of the swings, and enjoy the BBQ hut break stops. You’ll want sturdy soles on your water shoes for all of the rock scrambling; our trail running shoes did just fine, totally soaked. You’ll get to do 5m jumps into the pools, or go big with the 7m leaps. The Oslob Whale Watch was thrilling to see these gentle giants, yet with environmentally conflicting thoughts as you know these sharks are being fed to endure the crowds. Be prepared for about 3-4hr wait for the 30min experience. So use that time to enjoy a good breakfast and shop a bit. The transfer to the falls takes another couple hours and you’ll be greeted with a fine Filipino lunch before the canyoneering trek. Or, enjoy that lunch at the end of the trek, as we did with the timing flexibility of our private tour.

  • Very dangerous

The whalesharks were amazing!! The trek trough the river was nice but extremely dangerous! No one, not any guide or annyone else in authority told us we needed special shoes. We needed because every trail and step was extremely slippery and you had to hold on for you life or fall a very long way. The river walk was through rocks, most of them sharp and not suited for the shoes we all wore. I fell and I toured my arm. Please wear the shoes they proved or it is a very long and very uncomfortable journey!!

  • Once in a lifetime experience!

This was an amazing experience to have for my birthday! The tour did start off rocky, as the driver who picked us up (at 3am!) was a substitute driver and had very limited information from the tour company. After surviving (and I mean literally) the bumpy, narrow, dark and dangerous road there (for 3 hrs) we had to wait 4hrs for a chance to see the whale sharks. Mind you, we got no updates or information during these 4hrs, so we were actually unsure if we would see them. However, after the very, very difficult start of the tour day, we got to swim right next to the whale sharks and be recorded under water. It was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience that was worth the dangerous drive over and the long wait! Then, after that, we went to the other side of the island (1.5 hr drive), had lunch and went canyoneering! We had no idea what canyoneering was, but found out it was a 3-4 hr tour in the jungle where you could zip line (if you wanted), jump from waterfalls (again, if you wanted) and swim around in the river inside a canyon. This experience was the best part, in my opinion. The natural beauty of the areas was far superior to any area I’ve seen before (even in Hawaii). I absolutely loved this part and our tour guides (one per person) were both amazing. They helped guide us around and carried our belongings above their head the whole time so they wouldn’t get wet! It was a very physical several hours though, so be aware, bring swim attire and I would recommend you bring your own wet shoes as the ones provided will rub your feet raw. Overall, even though our trip started really rough, with the crazy drive and long wait. It was well worth it and we would do it all over again in a heartbeat! Loved it!

  • Bring your own GoPro....

Bring your own GoPro. Wear a Body Glove instead of swimming suit because your not allowed to put sunscreen so they can protect the Whale Over all it was both a great and challenging experience for a 67 years old, I wish I did this adventure when I was younger.

  • Great for Nature and Adventure lovers!

Hotel pickup is extremely early (2am). Swimming right next to a whale shark! Pay for the goPro, it's better and your phone is safe. Canyoneering is amazing, so beautiful. Moderate fitness level is best. Each person has a guide. Very friendly, knowledgeable guides know every step to take. Pay for the goPro, it's worth it to keep your phone safe and dry. Long car rides, Sunday is bad traffic. Overall an unforgettable experience, highly recommend!

Such an amazing day! Swimming with the whale sharks was a dream come true. Totally worth getting up in the early hours of the morning to do this. The canyoneering was awesome fun. Our guides Jim, Johnny, Merczon and Bimbim were knowledgeable, hilarious, friendly, encouraging and just the right amount of a little crazy 😜 Our driver Naldo was skilled and pleasant. We would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cebu who likes nature and a little adventure.

We were picked up at our condo at 2:30 in the morning by our guide Naldo 2.5hr drive to Oslob we were the 43 boat out@ 6:20am 30 mins to swim with the Whales ( we rented a GoPro camera for 550 pes=$9.50 & purchased a water proof sleeve for our I phone 150 pes=$2.50 will worth it) Then. 1:45 min drive to Kawasan Falls (chose the zip line instead of the 45 min walk 600 pes =$10.25) then 3.5 hrs of some most excellent canyoneering we were I guide per person ( this is not a tour for old people. Everyone on the tour was in their 20s and 30s we’re in our 60s. It took us a little longer, but it was way cool.) then a 5 1/2 hour drive back to our hotel in Filipino traffic an excellent day.

  • Phenomenal time!

Getting to the whale sharks took about 2.5 hours from Cebu; once we arrived to our little area where our tour groups vans parked, we did a quick trip down to the water to get our numbers, a quick overview, and then enjoyed breakfast as we waited our turn. The process was pretty smooth getting on the boats and swimming with the sharks. We then headed to Moalboal for the canyoneering and oh my word—-it was absolutely incredible. We each had our own guide, and they took charge of the camera for videos and pictures. They were essential in helping navigate the rocks. Ladies——do not just wear swim bottoms!!! You will come out with scraped up butt cheeks—-wear shorts! All of the jumps, slides, and waterfalls were amazing. This is in my top 3 of adventure things I have ever done! The only improvement I would suggest is lunch—-it was pretty sparse after 3 hours of trekking and then having a 6 hour drive back to Cebu (traffic is a nightmare). Bring snacks, drinks, and earbuds for the drive—-you have a driver (Anthony was amazing) who stays with your stuff!
