this ultimate day tour foucuses on the nature side of Manila
The best way to get to pagsanjan falls is riding the dugout conoe famous by what the locals called “Shooting the Rapids.” Before, the boats are just composed wooden materials but today, they are made up of fiber glass. It’s an upstream ride and maneuvered by two licensed boatmen through the narrow river add up rocks and big rocks and many hindrances along the way. Imagine how strong and picture out those arms the two boatmen could have.

Pagsanjan Falls
hop on a dugout canoe for the ride toward Pagsanjan Falls. As your boatman rows upstream, pass by the verdant landscape of vines and trees, and keep your eyes open for wildlife. After about 20 minutes, you'll reach the first fall, and then continue to the main falls. The most exciting part of the trip is the rapid descent downstream known as 'shooting the rapids.' Enjoy a little heart-pumping action as the guide navigates the boat through the choppy waters.

Our Pagsanjan Falls and Taal Volcano trip was hands down one of the highlights of our time in the Philippines, and that’s entirely thanks to our incredible guide, JC. From the very start, JC was professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. He made the long drives enjoyable by sharing fascinating insights about Filipino culture, history, and local life, and he always made sure we were comfortable and having fun. The Pagsanjan Falls experience was absolutely breathtaking. The boat ride through the gorge was thrilling, and JC coordinated everything perfectly with the boatmen so we could relax and enjoy the adventure. Reaching the falls was magical—standing beneath the cascading water is something we’ll never forget. The Taal Volcano stop was just as impressive. JC explained the volcano’s history and geology in a clear and engaging way, which made the views even more meaningful. He knew the best spots for photos and never rushed us, giving us time to truly take it all in. What really sets JC apart is his genuine care for his guests. He was attentive, patient, and always one step ahead, anticipating what we might need. It felt less like a tour and more like traveling with a knowledgeable local friend. If you’re considering a Pagsanjan Falls and Taal Volcano tour, do yourself a favor and book with JC. This was a perfectly organized, memorable, and truly special experience. Highly, highly recommended!

We were told in advance that we wouldn't be able to do the full falls tour due to dangerously high water and given options. We chose to do the shorter tour to the first set of falls only, which reduced our ride by around an hour but it was still a nice experience. We were there early and it was less busy than I expected (and cooler!). You also need to be prepared to get a bit wet on the second boat trip to see the volcanoes if you go Nov - Jan as windy and choppy during those months. We were blessed with clear sunny skies for our last stop at the People's Park so had tremendous 360 dgree views right back to downtown Manila. We enjoyed the tour and Albert was a friendly and helpful. It was 11 hours door to door but you do spend around half the time driving.

Our guide JC was very kind and informative. Ian was our driver and incredible especially in Manila traffic! The experiences were a lot of fun. Only downside is there is a lot of driving involved. However we had a great time!

Amazing day with guide John & driver Kyle getting out of the Manila chaos to explore the surrounding countryside of Pagsanjan Falls-Taal Volcano-Tagaytay people’s palace in the skies. Informative insightful trustworthy people enabled me to relax and enjoy. Early morning canoe up deep gorges with amazing waterfalls and time to enjoy the serenity. Shooting the rapids a highlight and beautiful scenery in every moment. Be kind to yourself and catch these guys tour.

We didn't go to Pagsanjan due to dangerous water levels, we went to another waterfalls. What made it wonderful were the guides that knew the area and compensated for our disappointment. They catered to our likes and dislikes. Very good and meaningful experience.

I highly recommend this trip! My guide, Yvonne, and driver, Lloyd, were extremely kind, pleasant, and accommodating and made sure I got the most out of the experience (for example, offered to stop along the way to see anything that caught my interest). Yvonne also provided historical and local details along the way. A few tips if you book this: 1. You will get wet at the falls, so wear water-friendly shoes and bring a change of clothes and a towel. There's a shower available at the end of this portion of the trip to get the river water off and change. 2. Bring a tip for the river boatmen. I was told 500 pesos was fair, but they haul your canoe upstream through 16 sets of rapids, so consider tipping more. There is also a stop where you can buy cold drinks for 80 pesos each halfway through (and you can buy for the boatmen as well). 3. Bring something water-proof to store your phone if you intend to bring it. No tips for the rest of the trip, it's pretty self-explanatory (eat lunch, take a boat ride closer to the volcano - you do not get off the boat though, i.e., you do not land on the volcano, just ride up to it and back, go to the top of the mountain for an amazing view). Enjoy!

We had a great tour with our guide John! Already on the way he told us a lot of exciting things and inspired us with interesting facts. The whole trip was incredibly exciting and absolutely worth seeing – a real must! It was especially great that we were allowed to try a Filipino specialty on the way. A visit to the fruit market was also a highlight – there we could taste super-tasty pineapple and other exotic fruits. John even showed us how pineapple grows – really interesting! Lunch was simple but very tasty and absolutely fitting to the tour. All in all, a great experience – thank you, John!

We had such an amazing day with YOLO Travel Phillipines! We booked the Canoe trip to the waterfall and Taal Mountain and the People in the Sky lookout. Our guide, Via and driver Kyle were fantastic. Always smiling and friendly, helpful all the time. They were right on time to pick us up which is amazing for the Philippines. We were running late but Via was so understanding and calm. We were a bit nervous about the canoe trip up to the falls but Via reassured us that the boatmen were very experienced and would make sure everything went smoothly and safely which they did. The rains made the rapids very strong and the boatmen had to be really careful which they were. They made such a top effort to make sure we got to the falls and we got to go under the falls as well with the bamboo raft which was an unexpected bonus and well worth it just for the wet memory! Then we took a boat trip around Taal Volcano which was great. Guide told us how many active and dormant volcanoes there were. Got a little rough but the driver was careful to keep us dry (well almost!). Then we went to the People in the Sky lookout. Unfortunately the weather had deteriorated and we didn’t see anything from the lookout but that didn’t stop Kyle and Via taking us up there and giving us the chance to look around, hunt for some souvenirs and take a ride on a Jimny stretch car so famous in Manila. They could have just said let's skip this one because the weather is really bad, but instead they made every effort to take us to all our stops and give us the opportunity to experience everything even if the weather let us down. They also made an additional stop, part way down the mountain where the weather was better so we could at least see most of the view which we really appreciated. Lastly, Via took us to an open vegetable and fruit market where she gave us a rundown of some of the fruits from the area and we got to sample miniature bananas and something like Lychees. It was great and an unexpected treat to finish things off. As it was a private tour, we didn’t have to wait for anyone else, so we had plenty of time to enjoy each activity. We also got our own boat up to the falls and on Taal Lake to get a close up of the volcanoes which was much better than a full carriage. If you’re coming from a cruise ship, I’d definitely recommend booking a private tour like this. The roads were pretty windy at times, but the driver Kyle was fantastic and always kept safety first at all times. All in all, the tour was incredible. YOLO Travel Philippines and our guide Via really went above and beyond to make it a perfect day. If you’re visiting Manila make sure you do this tour but keep in mind you need 13-14 hours to do it all as it’s 2 hours to get to each destination. Great trip and guides!

I had an amazing experience on the Pagsanjan Taal Tour! The guide, Andrei, was incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole tour enjoyable. He was also very accommodating and attentive to our needs throughout the trip. The pick-up was punctual, which made the entire day run smoothly. I highly recommend this tour, especially with Andrei as your guide his expertise truly enhanced the experience. A must-do for anyone visiting the area!
