This is the only calabash painting experience in Curaçao led by a local artist and cultural entrepreneur. At La Hacienda Olivia Plantation you will learn about the centuries old history of calabash on the island, take a picture next to the tree, hold a calabash in your hands, taste local drink & snack, choose your piece: earrings, bracelet, pendant or keychain and paint it yourself with personal guidance. This experience is perfect for curious travelers, culture lovers, families with children aged 8 and up, and anyone who wants to take home something they made with their own hands rather than a mass produced souvenir.

What To Expect
You will arrive at La Hacienda Olivia, choose your calabash piece: earrings, bracelet, pendant, or keychain and paint it yourself with guidance from local artist Junaiska Geferts. You will learn about the history of calabash in Curaçao, develop your own design, and leave with a finished wearable piece you created with your own hands. No experience needed.
