A disappointing experience – last time I'm using Viator

I should've known better than using this company. We booked the tour and gave specific instructions of how we wanted it customized. We ended up with a very nice but boring university student who didn't listen to our needs and just wanted to do his standard walking tour. We could've done the same thing on a free walking tour. A total waste of money. The tour was even ended half an hour early because he ran out of things to say. If you would like a private tour guide, look at recommendations from Rick Steves, get your guide or another private guidewebsite. My last experience with Viator at the Musee d'Orsay in Paris included purchasing an audio guide that was a third market product that was useless and we ended up getting the museum audio guide, and they would not refund the money.

Alessia was a fantastic tour guide! She knows the area, the distant and recent history. She even knew people along our route and was able to answer lots of questions. She was warm and welcoming, and I felt comfortable with her right away. It was by far the best thing I did - well worth the investment, and I felt so much more confident navigating Palermo on my own afterwards. She teased me for some of the silly things I had done in my trip so far - and I definitely deserved it, it felt so comfortable and easy.

We booked the 2 hour tour. Great overview of Central Palermo. Visited the Cathedral, Food markets, Convent with bakery selling cannolis and other baked goods, beautiful churches in different styles, etc. Our guide Bianca was knowledgeable, informative, and a pleasure to spend the morning with. Highly recommend
