On a hot summer's day, one of the best things to do in Palm Springs is to take a ride from the dry desert floor with the Aerial Tramway, 5,873 feet up into the cool climate of the San Jacinto Mountains. Come and ascend into a pristine wilderness aboard the world's largest rotating tramcars! Truly one of the greatest experiences in Southern California!
Wheelchair accessible
Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller

Please present voucher to the ticket office. Tickets will be timed for the next available tram car as a first come first serve basis.
The Tramway is subject to delays and periodic shutdowns due to unforeseen circumstances and is not responsible for ticket refunds or the inability to redeem a voucher
Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain
Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way
The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain
Strollers are permitted on this tour
During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.

This is a must do in Palm Springs! About 10 minutes up to the top and the views are amazing. If you are up for a hike there is a loop trail that can be a simple nature walk, or some up and down hiking. Tram goes up and down about every 15 minutes so can stay as long or as short as you like. Truly worth the time and not too far out from downtown.

The tram ride is smooth and not scary. It offers a wonderful communal experience. The hiking is awesome inspiring and the restaurant, Peaks, is not to be missed!

Worth every penny! The nature trail is perfect for valley overviews. The incline back to base is steep but one step at a time and you can do it! So may western bluebirds in mid April!

With Viator, you purchase your ticket and are issued a ticket voucher which you take with you, (or download to your phone.), then you receive your actual ticket at the Tram ticket center. The whole process was very easy and efficient! Parking Fee is separate! (Which you pay when you enter the park!). I recommend this purchasing process, for others to consider, and look forward to future trips myself!

Don't use viator, we which commits you to a specific day. We intended to hike at the top but it was snowing and zero visibility for photos. The visitor center and restaurants and bathroom and lookout area were very nice. Clean.

This place is fantastic. The tram up, the weather, hiking, the food. But I’ve no clue where they find the bartends or servers. They NEVER smile. They act like you’re interrupting them. I’m sitting at the bar right now and this chick hasn’t smiled the entire time we’ve sat here. The gals at the restaurant are more interested in chatting among themselves than the people. I highly recommend the tram for a day trip, but be prepared for no smile service. Third time up here in 2 months. Same each time.

Wonderful views. The tram itself is very cool. If you want to eat at the restaurant be sure to get reservations.

We arrived on time and we're told by the ranger at the entrance gate that there was a four hour wait to go up the mountain. I turned back and got a refund.

I enjoyed the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, but the Viator listing was misleading. I thought I bought tickets, but it was actually just a voucher that still required waiting in line and then waiting again for the next available tram. This added about 40 minutes to my visit. Since I had another event at 7:00 pm, I had to shorten my time at the top. The attraction is great, but Viator needs to be more transparent about what customers are actually purchasing.
