On a hot summer's day, one of the best things to do in Palm Springs is to take a ride from the dry desert floor with the Aerial Tramway, 5,873 feet up into the cool climate of the San Jacinto Mountains. Come and ascend into a pristine wilderness aboard the world's largest rotating tramcars! Truly one of the greatest experiences in Southern California!

Please present voucher to the ticket office. Tickets will be timed for the next available tram car as a first come first serve basis.

The Tramway is subject to delays and periodic shutdowns due to unforeseen circumstances and is not responsible for ticket refunds or the inability to redeem a voucher

Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain

Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way

The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain

Strollers are permitted on this tour

During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.

There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods

We had a great time. My granddaughters loved it. The last time we were there was when my daughter was 9. It was fun to be there with her 9 year old and 6 year old. Dress warm even if its 100 down in palm springs the higher elevation makes it cold.

This was a lot of fun, great information during the entire experience Truly enjoyed it. The process of getting a time slot is not good. If you purchase tickets online, you should be able to purchase them for a specific time instead of just the day and then going there and having to wait once you check in. Not a good process.

It was a beautiful day! Make sure you realize that it is much cooler up there. Bring a warm sweater. I had shorts on, had a medium weight sweatshirt and bought a warm hat up there and was fine. Went on a short nature hike. There is a paved walkway down to where the hike starts, it's a pretty strenuous hike up. There are educational videos available... kind of dated. The bar was nice. $11 beer, other special drinks available for $$. I didn't eat up there. The tram was cool. Where you stand rotates so everyone gets good, changing views. The ride down was after dark and was entertaining with a fun singalong! I would definitely recommend.

This was so much fun! We spent 3 or 4 hours here today. Breathtaking scenery on the tram ride and all around the park at the top. Nice walk down to the half frozen creek, good food at the cafe at the top. Everybody should do this while in Palm Springs area!
