On a hot summer's day, one of the best things to do in Palm Springs is to take a ride from the dry desert floor with the Aerial Tramway, 5,873 feet up into the cool climate of the San Jacinto Mountains. Come and ascend into a pristine wilderness aboard the world's largest rotating tramcars! Truly one of the greatest experiences in Southern California!

Please present voucher to the ticket office. Tickets will be timed for the next available tram car as a first come first serve basis.

The Tramway is subject to delays and periodic shutdowns due to unforeseen circumstances and is not responsible for ticket refunds or the inability to redeem a voucher

Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain

Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way

The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain

Strollers are permitted on this tour

During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.

There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods

This is just a voucher to get a ticket. There is no way to pick a time for the tram so you can arrive and after waiting 50 minutes in line, only be able to get a ticket that’s 3 hours away. And there’s no way to change the date when buying this way. Not worth the savings.

Take many layers of clothes. Backpack was very useful. Wear hiking boots. Plan time for a meal and cocktails at Peaks restaurant

My only complaint is that the video of how the tram was built and its history wasn't running. There was no one to help on level 3

Our timing going up the mountain and then later descending in the tram was amazing. I got some great photos. Hanging out on top, enjoying the view, the movie in their little theater, and eating in the cafe was all great. They have the BEST hot chocolate!!! Rich and creamy. Loved the whole experience.

Beautiful views with lovely eatery options for a variety of palate preferences at the top. A few short hikes available or just soak in the views from the patio. If traveling with people with limited mobility, consider dropping off at the stairs & using the elevator to the main entrance at the bottom.

From the person who answered my questions on the phone to the staff members from whom we bought the tickets to the gal who ran our tram, everybody was super friendly. We reserved tickets and had to change the date -- no problem. This is so worth it, you just gotta do it if you're in the area. The only con I have is that there are so many people on the tram that it is hard to see if you don't have a window view.
