A journey to Sandwich Harbour, an adventure by 4x4 through the Namib-Naukluft Park, where the world’s tallest dunes plunge into the Atlantic Ocean, creating an unforgettable landscape. Historically, Sandwich Harbour provided a natural refuge for fishermen and whalers, drawn by its waters teeming with life and the rare presence of fresh water so close to the sea. Over time, shifting sands slowly erased human traces, giving way to a wild, unspoiled landscape where nature reigns supreme. Today, this mythical site is renowned for its exceptional biodiversity, especially its rich birdlife. Sandwich Harbour has become a sanctuary for nature lovers — a place where the vastness of the desert meets the power of the Atlantic, creating a raw and unforgettable harmony.
Let's cruise to Pelican Point, a sandy peninsula near Walvis Bay, is a natural gem where wildlife meets the ocean, creating a natural barrier for Walvis Bay’s harbor. Seal Colony: Over 50,000 seals call Pelican Point home! They sunbathe on the beach, surf the waves, and play like curious puppies. If you go kayaking, they’ll swim right alongside you! Bird Paradise: Flamingos, pelicans, and cormorants fill the lagoon with color, a dream for bird lovers and photographers alike.

Very nice experience during the day to immerse yourself in the aquatic world of Walvis Bay lagoon in the morning and dunes in the afternoon; the Pangaea team has many surprises in store for us and very well explained the treasures of their beautiful region.

We were allowed to do a boat tour in Valais bay in the morning as a family. Our very prudent, warm guide told us a lot about the life of animals and nature. We have experienced a lot: from whales to the small dolphins, seals and pelicans - we were able to experience everything up close. As a surprise we were allowed to try oysters which tasted excellent. Our daughter was also delighted. In the afternoon followed the flamingos and lots of interesting facts about the incredible areas of the salt lakes! Afterwards we continued to the dunes along the long wall including the “little five”.....how cool was that! And then, at our request, our guide will whizz through the dunes with us - rollercoaster-time! Just wow! Would do it again anytime! It was unforgettable and the time flew far too fast for us as a family! Many thanks to the professional and warm guides!

Perfect day!!! We did 2 activities with Pangae Tours and everything was great. Early pick up => we avoided the world, breathtaking views, a guide at the top, his wife Catherine who is Belgian accompanied us: professionalism mixed with sympathy, clear, easy exchanges. When we got back, we took the time to have a drink on the pier and chat. We're going back to Namibia in 2026 and we're going back to their place, 10000% sure.

We spent 4 weeks in the country and covered more than 6000km, during our stop in Walvis Bay we absolutely wanted to meet the sea lions. We were not disappointed... Thanks to our guide Hennie, we were able to get as close as possible to these colonies of animals, we were sliding on the sand like snow in one of their 4x4, it was great. Probably one of the best activities of our stay!

We spent an exceptional day with Pangaea Tours! In the morning, we kayaked to see the sea lions. Then in the afternoon we discovered the dunes. Everything was perfectly organized, and our guide, very friendly, provided us with exciting explanations. Many thanks also to Catherine, who speaks French and warmly welcomed us while adapting the day to our desires.
