Ok, I was not prepared for how cold it would be. Pope doesn't show up until 9:45 or later but you need to queue up around 6:40 so it's several hours of being outside in the cold. Thankfully someone let me have one of their hand warmers. Be prepared. All that said, this was an incredible experience. Yes you can get in for free. But Rosanna knew (1) when we needed to show up and (2) where to sit. I cannot believe how close we were. That was very worth the price. And Rosanna was full of knowledge that helped the time pass by. This was certainly a highlight of my trip to Rome and I'm not Catholic.

Max was a great guide. Knowledgeable and entertaining. Max knew the best vantage point. I understand why it was so early, but I didnt realize it was going to be 2 hour wait in such cold weather. Other than that it was a great experience! Thanks Max

Dress for weather. You will be outside for 3 hours. Bring food. The guide walks you about .5 kms and through security to a seat. Julia was fantastic. She assured people had time for a restroom before entering. She got us excellent seats. So happy to see Pope Leo in Jubilee Year

Lots of walking to get there and if you have back issues or walking issues- you may want to rethink this trip.

It was a wonderful experience! Our whisper guy had a lot of knowledge about the Vatican, that I really liked it. Even when this wasn't a private audience (it was at Saint Peter's Piazza with thousands and thousands of people) I was very pleased for what I had. Thank you so much.

You are not required to pay for a papal audience. I did not perceive that paying for this ticket in any way gave me a better experience, a better spot to stand/sit, or any other type of access.

This was a once in a lifetime experience while visiting Rome and Vatican City to see and hear the Pope in Saint Peter's Square. Our guide made sure we cleared security easily and entered the public seating area so we could clearly see Pope Leo and hear his message. As expected, many other faithful pilgrims from all over the world were also in attendance in the square. His security team drives the Pope through the main aisles of the Square so getting photos of the Pope is definitely a possibility.
