Poor Golden Tour Communication and Assistance on Arriving to the Tour Meeting Point via Subway and Walking

2.00The tour and tour guide were great, but the communication and directions from Golden Tour Guide S.L. were poor. I had the correct address and watched the video the night before on where to meet. However, the video was tailored to those arriving by cab. We took the metro to the nearest stop (Vallcarca), and used Google Maps to walk to the meeting point. The problem was that although we got off the subway near the park at 10:15am for the 11am tour with an expected 15 minute walk, the walking directions lead us to a wrong gate to walk through the park to the meeting point. We spoke with the guard at the gate who directed us to go back down the steps and around the hill. When it was clear that we would not be able to arrive 15 minutes before the tour, I contacted Golden Tour on WhatsApp and they were of no help. They couldn’t get us into the park, they wouldn’t refund our tickets, and THEY DID NOT OFFER ME A LATER TOUR! We were tired and frustrated. I wanted to get to the meeting point as fast as we could, and we did not arrive until 11:45am on foot! I explained the situation to the Golden Tour Representative outside the meeting point with an umbrella. She was kind enough to allow us to join the 12pm tour unlike the person we were communicating with on WhatsApp. Golden Tour should have better directions for getting to the meeting point via foot and subway.
