Peak Tram
Ride the Peak Tram to the iconic Peak (Round trip tickets included) Top 10 must do experience voted by visitors! The first Peak Tram commenced service on 30 May 1888 (first cable funicular of Asia) and has undergone various phases of modernization from coal-fired steam boilers in its earliest days to today’s super-efficient electronic control system. The 6th generation Peak Tram has been painted in a bespoke “Peak Tram Green”, in a nod to its heritage and earlier 3rd and 4th generation tramcars, which were in service from 1948-1959 and 1959-1989 respectively. Getting to the Peak by the Peak Tram is an unforgettable experience. One of the world's oldest and most famous funicular railways, the tram rises to 396 meters (about 1,300 feet) above sea level. It is so steep that the buildings you pass look like they are leaning a gradient of between 4 and 25.7 degrees!
Victoria Peak (The Peak)
Take a guided walking tour to learn about the history of the peak and visit the Lion's Point View Pavilion. Victoria Peak, known simply as The Peak, is a must-see Hong Kong destination — both day and night — offering iconic views of skyscraper-flanked Victoria Harbor, Kowloon peninsula and craggy mountain peaks. Lion’s Point view Pavilion - A Chinese-style pavilion near the Peak Tram terminus on Victoria Peak offers a panoramic view of Victoria Harbor. Discover some interesting parts of HK great having an earpiece for the commentary. Disappointed with the stop at the gold shop with a hard sell and not easy to leave the shop. Really enjoyed the traditional lunch.

Keep an eye on guide on mid-level escalator. Our guide made a turn and half of our group (14/31) did not see him. We were lost and had to call tour company to rejoin guide.

We were greeted by Simon at the Kowloon hotel and he spoke extremely fast and was difficult to understand. After picking up more people at a different hotel, we went to the tram. Simon did the tour in multiple languages and as I said, he was very difficult to understand so, often times, I didn’t know what he said. I spent the day quite confused and felt like we were a hurd of cattle being rushed from one place to another. I was not the only one confused. The day was overcast so we didn’t really see much of a view from Victoria Peak. Not anyone’s fault, just circumstances. Thankfully, there were shops. Next we had a little bus tour of the city on our way to the escalators, which took me several minutes to finally understand what he was saying. At the top, we had a very rushed tour of the old prison with some free time. Next we went to back over to Hong Kong Island and rode the Star ferry. We were only allowed on the first floor. It cost extra if you wanted to go up top. I don’t remember that being mentioned in the description. After the ferry we went to Tim Ho Wan for dinner. We were informed that we were done with the bus so take all our belongings. We all thought we were supposed to be dropped off at the Holiday Inn as described in the instructions. At the end of the dinner people who were needing to get back to their hotels were pointed in the direction of the MTR and told to use it to get back. One couple was was quite confused and I only hope that made it. Thankfully we were close to our hotel, but others weren’t. That was extremely false information to list a return hotel on your site, then literally dump your customers at a mall and leave them to find their own way back! I have done multiple TripAdvisor excursions and NEVER have I had such a poor experience as this one.

The tram itself is not spectacular ,but even on a foggy day when you can’t see the whole city is well worth it. When you get to the top if you want to see the skyline, you can walk over to the shopping center and do the same thing without paying the extra fee.
