Before we get started, our tour reflects the local cuisine and the limitations of street food vendors means we unfortunately cannot cater for every dietary restriction. Here's an honest appraisal for the tour so no-one is disappointed ✘ Unsuitable for vegetarians, vegans, no-pork diets and those who follow a vegan diet ✘ Unsuitable for severe allergies. ✘ Unsuitable for severe gluten intolerances / coeliac, there are traces of gluten in soy sauce. ✔ Suitable for lactose intolerances. ✔ Suitable for no beef diets. Many are unaware of Penang’s unique culinary history, a mouthwatering mishmash of Malay, Indian and Southern Chinese culminating in a unique Nyonya cuisine. Penang might be one of South East Asia’s lesser visiting spots, but the culinary scene more than measures up to its neighbors. Four hours of feasting on our curated daily food experience awaits. Master your chopstick skills over sizzling plates of Hokkien char and char ho fun, dip lok lok in simmering aromatic hot pots, mop up daals and vegetable curries on banana leaf thalis and discover what colourful Nyonya kueh are among more than a dozen more sumptuous tastings at places you’d struggle to find alone.

5.00This tour is fantastic and Sandy a brilliant host and guide! We wished that we'd done it earlier on our trip so we could re-visit some of the stops. We took two primary school aged kids on the tour and they were looked after and accommodated. Sandy is kind, knowledgeable and friendly and clearly an expert in local food and culture. My tip would be to skip lunch on the day of the tour - you need room for all the tastings!
Good food. Good guide. Surprised to taste some wonderful new foods. We experienced new tastes and met new friends.

5.00I’ve been on a few tours around the world and this has to be the best in terms of value for money, guide knowledge and the wide range of tastings! Sandy was an incredible guide who passed on so much knowledge as she took us through the many cultures that make up Penang’s food scene. We have been to Penang a few times but still were able to try things we had never tried before. We had such a great time and left feeling very, very full. I can’t recommend this tour more!

5.00Sandy led our tour and was a mine of information over the 4 hours! She thought of everything to make sure our group had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Come hungry because you will have a lot of very tasty food to try. Great to eat where the locals eat, try new dishes and meet the people who prepared the food. It set us up for further exploring over the next three days visiting Penang. Highly recommend.
