Sea kayaking is a unique and intimate way to explore the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park and observe Australian wildlife in and out of the water.
Our guides are qualified, experienced and friendly, and are there to make sure your experience is unforgettable! The focus is on fun and safety, whilst taking in the amazing coastal scenery and wildlife from the best seat in the house: your double kayak.
Take a guided walk to explore Penguin Island and enjoy snorkelling amongst the limestone reef full of marine life. This is a fun filled day out for those of all ages.

What To Expect
Spend a fun-filled day exploring Penguin and Seal Islands by sea kayak. Get up close and personal with amazing wildlife including Australian sea lions and pelicans, take a guided walk to explore Penguin Island, and enjoy snorkelling amongst the sheltered in-shore reefs (December to March only, when the water is warmest). Paddling a sea kayak is a unique and intimate way to explore Penguin & Seal Islands. Get up close and personal with the sea lions, cruise past colonies of pelicans and take in the rugged beauty of the islands. In between activities, enjoy heathy picnic brunch, freshly prepared by your guide, in the beautiful Penguin Island picnic area. Tours are led by a qualified instructor who will take you on a guided walk and snorkelling (in the warmer summer months, December to March) amongst the shallow reefs close to Penguin Island. It’s a fun-filled day suitable for beginner and advanced paddlers.

5.00Fabulous experience! As a complete novice kayaker it was a wonderful introduction. Ryan gave clear instructions and inspired confidence . The whole day was a joy, seals , snorkelling , a tour of beautiful Penguin island with a knowledge able guide to make it even more interesting. A really memorable experience . 5.00We had a wonderful trip today kayaking to and exploring penguin island. Ryan was a fantastic tour guide and was very knowledgeable about local wildlife and the history of the region. We saw dolphins, sea lions, a penguin and many king skinks. We felt very safe and supported throughout the whole trip, even after winds picked up in the afternoon. Thank you for a great day :)

5.00The kayaking experience was excellent. The tour guide met us on time at the designated location. Ryan was very good and informative on how to operate and handle our kayaks. The 3 km paddle along with the track on pelican Island was an enjoyable experience. The lunch prepared was high-quality and well done. The planning of the trip was well met and I enjoyed it. Greatly snorkelling was good. And the seals and other wildlife were well within viewable range. I would gladly repeat this adventure again and look forward to further Tours with Capricorn.

5.00Recently relocated to Perth, kayaking and snorkelling at Penguin Island was an absolute must-do! 🛶🤿. We saw so many sea lions sunbathing, king skinks roaming the island, and even a cute little furry penguin.Such a lovely group of people on the tour too!

5.00We almost cancelled this trip, to be honest. The day before, the weather in Perth was horrible - raining, super windy, and cold. I figured since I couldn’t get my money back anyway, I’d just show up and see how it went on the day. When we got to the launch point, we were still a bit 50-50 because it was still cloudy, windy, and cold, but I figured why not? The team at Capricorn Seakayaking was awesome though. They were super thorough with all the safety stuff and gave us a bunch of tips and tricks about kayaking in general, which made me feel a lot more comfortable. After the briefing, we set off to see the sealions and just kayaked through some really beautiful, clear waters. The best part? The sun came out, and by the time we reached Penguin Island, it turned into such a nice, warm day - totally unexpected but awesome! On Penguin Island, we had a really yummy and refreshing lunch. We took a little walk around the island, checked out the wildlife, and finished up with a swim/snorkel. The water was so refreshing, and the whole vibe of the place was just perfect. The trip back was a bit more wavy, but the team had given us great instructions, so we made it back to the main island with no issues. There were some other guests though who didn’t exactly follow the instructions, and let’s just say it made the air a bit anxious for all of us! 😂 Afterward, we helped pack everything up, which felt nice and was a good way to end the day. Overall, this was a really fun and informative tour. We learned a ton about Western Australia’s history, wildlife, and kayaking in general. I’d definitely recommend it and would totally do something like this again - probably even more eagerly next time!
