The beginning didn’t start well because TripAdvisor told me to go to Savoy hotel at 9:45. The Go West company didn’t arrive until 10:50am. The driver and tour guide Sherif was awesome. I sat at the front and had a great chat to him the whole way. He had some great tips and was very accommodating for all. I had no idea what my day entailed as trip advisor didn’t give me an itinerary. When I tapped on any links they had errors. I enjoyed all the places we went. The penguins were awesome however I wish we were taken earlier as I paid premium plus and was told to leave within 15-20 mins of arriving on the platform. I don’t think there was enough guidance we should have been told to go out straight away and view the penguins. Did I see penguins yes!!! Heaps but I would have liked to have stayed there longer for the experience and price I paid. Thank you to Sherif for providing me a fun and safe experience.

This is the second time we have visited Melbourne and it will definitely wouldn’t be the last. I want to thank Go West Tours for an amazing offer with their tour package and Robbo our tour guide for his knowledge, jokes and his safe driving. Please book your tours with them as you visit Melbourne and you will never get disappointed.

We had a great experience on the Phillip Island tour with Go West Tours. The highlight was, of course, the Penguin Parade. Seeing hundreds of little penguins returning from the ocean and walking back to their burrows was a unique experience and definitely worth the trip. A special mention goes to our guide, Mark. What impressed me most was his knowledge of Australian history. During the two-hour drive from Melbourne to Phillip Island, he shared stories and historical background about Australia almost the entire way. It never felt like a scripted presentation and made the journey much more interesting. By the time we arrived, I felt like I had learned a lot more about the country than I expected from a day tour. Mark was also very helpful throughout the day and ensured everything ran smoothly. We were lucky to see plenty of penguins, and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Melbourne and looking for a memorable wildlife experience.

Great tour of the Penguin Parade at Phillip Island, guided by Mark K. He gave us some really nice tips to have the best experience throughout the day, especially to watch the Penguins up close. He's also kind enough to pace his talking according to the comfort of the guests and also gives very clear instructions.

Aleks is definitely a very good guide, she’s friendly and helpful, without her I’d rate this trip below average. The major problems I have are: 1. The mini bus is way too narrow for someone to sit comfortably, the seat space is worse than a Ryanair flight. Everyone has to squeeze themselves in except the few seats in the front, it’s almost like it’s designed for people who are 1.4m tall. 2. The Moonlit Sanctuary we were taken to, does not appear to provide good care to the animals there. The place sells kangaroo food that allowing people to feed the kangaroos and wallabies. These animals should be kept as close to nature as possible, but now they beg for food from people! Other animals such as parrots and owls are kept in cages that are way too small compared to other zoos. This place looks like something designated for tourists rather than protecting animals. The Nobbies and penguin parade are definitely worth seeing, the rest of the trip really made me feel they are just stuffed in for “filling the spot”.

We were lucky enough to have Bluey (Tom) as a tour guide for our second tour, Penguin Parade, & Wildlife Encounters Eco Tour from Melbourne. The Brighton Bathing Boxes were interesting to hear about and look at but there wasn't a ton to do there other than take pictures. The real gem of this tour is the visit to Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park. You spend a good chunk of time at the park, so you should be able to see all the exhibits. It was a once of a lifetime experience for us, we were able to see and feed the wallabies and kangaroos. We saw the kookaburra birds, a Tasmanian devil, a Wedge Tailed Eagle, an echidna, koalas, and so many more lovely animals. I could have honestly spent more time attending the short lectures and presentations they have scheduled throughout the day for the various exhibits. It was very interesting to learn about the conservation efforts and how Australia is actively trying to increase the populations of endangered animals. They also had a very nice gift shop and cafe on site. I regret not getting the little wooden keychains they had because you honestly cannot find anything similar online for a reasonable price. On this tour, we also see the Knobbies, which is a sea viewing point up on a set of cliffs. Make sure to bring a jacket if you are going in the Fall because it is chilly up there! But of course, as with most of Melbourne's coastline, it was well worth the conditions for the scenic view. You end at the Phillip Island Penguin Parade, which was a great experience. We did get hit by some more rain, which you cannot have umbrellas up out on the beach, so plan accordingly for the expected weather. Also, you will be purchasing dinner here, which the food was fine but the pricing was a little steep. Just plan for that. You are a bit far back from the ocean, so you may want to bring binoculars. We were able to see the penguins come up to land from the ocean and it was really a treat to get to experience that. Out on the boardwalk, you get so close to the penguins and they are so small. It was a great experience. Please don't be that tourist that doesn't follow directions and actively harms them. There were so many people taking pictures when they were explicitly told that it harms the penguins' eyes and yet they did not care. You are in the dark when they come up, there is no point in trying to take pictures. But also, don't let other people ruin your experience. People are going to be selfish regardless, so all you can do is focus on your experience. And we were able to enjoy our experience regardless. The little penguins were a joy to see and I'm glad that their numbers continue to increase. I highly, highly recommend this tour and recommend Bluey (Tom) as your tour guide if possible. He was a gem and really made the experience absolutely worth it.
