Peninsula Valdes
This Protected Natural Area, declared “Mankind’s Natural Heritage”, has one of the most fascinating ecosystem in the entire world, Whales, Orcas, Sea Lions, Elephants Seals, Magellan Penguins, Maras, Guanacos, and Choiques live all in the same habitat. About 35 miles away from Puerto Madryn, we arrive to El Desempeño, main access to Peninsula Valdes, and after another 30 miles we arrive to Puerto Piramides, where, from June to December is possible to get a boat and watch the Right Southern Whales, and the rest of the year there're nautical trips to watch Sea Lions and enjoy the landscape. From Puerto Piramides we will head to Caleta Valdes, 47 miles away, and there you’ll enjoy the magnificent Elephant Seals and Penguins. And from there we continue to Punta Norte, and there we find Sea Lions, Sea Elephants, and occasionally Orcas. And coming back to Puerto Madryn we will stop at Los Pajaros Island, home of a great variety of sea birds, where we will finish our visit to this incredible Protected Natural Area.

My two adult children and I just finished a private all day tour of Peninsula Valdes & Estancia San Lorenzo with an amazingly knowledgeable guide, Pierre. He shared so much information about the wildlife in the area, and helped point out guanaco, rhea, a grey fox, penguins, elephant seals, sea lions, an amazing variety of birds, and ORCA! We were not counting on seeing the orca close in to shore at Punta Norte- but he timed things so we got there near high tide and we were lucky enough to see 3 of them close in. He was very gracious about staying longer to watch them stalk the seals and had a great sense of humor throughout the day. The tour was not cheap, but it included entrance fees and lunch, and helped us avoid waits, it was well worth it. Highly recommend!

I contacted this company directly for 9 of us from the cruise ship, everything went to plan for meeting up, nice clean van, and knowledgeable guide Nora who spoke great English, no whales about this time of year but plenty of close up penguins and elephant seals & seal lions.

Fabulous excursion with Sentir Patagonia. Imagine celebrating New Years Eve with a million Magellanic Penguins and sea lions in their natural habit. We also got to see Maras, Guanacos and Choiques on beautiful Peninsula Valdes. Thanks to Sentir Patagonia, who took on this excursion, we got to see up close Magellanic Penguins and learn about their mating habits and migration. We also got to visit Estancia San Lorenzo, a working sheep farm. While there, we had an exquisite barbeque. From Estancia San Lorenzo we drove to Punta Norte which was the crown jewel of our trip. The ocean was a beautiful topaz blue, and the beach was bathed in sunlight with hundreds of Sea Lions basking in the sun. We didn't want to leave. Thank you, Sentir Patagonia!
