Considered one of the best places for bird watching and photography in the Manuel Antonio and Quepos area due to its location in the foothills of the Los Santos Zone. This rural community is only 40 minutes from Manuel Antonio but we will make several stops along the way to explore pastures, gardens, gallery forests and forest edges. In Esquipulas we will visit a family project with gardens designed for bird watching and a beautiful reserve with trails to explore. In this same place we will have the typical breakfast served in a cozy restaurant surrounded by birds. Some of the target birds are: White-crested Coquette, Turquoise Cotinga, King Vulture, Little Oz Hummingbird, Warbler, Ehuphonias and Tanagers.
A delicious typical breakfast with fresh products from the farm will be served in the restaurant surrounded by plants and birds.

Excellent experience with Quepos Information Center. I booked a private guide, Dylan, for multiple birding days including Esquipulas and a full day trip to the highlands in the Dota region to see quetzals. He is easily one of the most knowledgeable birding guides I have ever been with. He knew exactly where to go for the highest probability sightings, and there was never a moment where he did not recognize a species, whether by flight, visual, or sound. His attention to detail really stood out. I sent him a list of target species ahead of time, and he specifically planned routes around those locations, which made the experience even more tailored. The tour was private, just me, and completely worth it. We saw dozens of species, and he even tracked everything and sent it directly to my Merlin app, which was a huge bonus. If you are serious about birding or wildlife photography, this is one of the best guides you can get. HIGHLY recommend.

This is a fantastic tour and I highly recommend it. Dylan is a really nice guy and incredibly knowledgeable about birds. He took us to a variety of places and we saw numerous species - Toucans, Humming Birds, Manakins, Tanagers, Vultures and more. Our final destination was a beautiful Eco cafe set in a coffee plantation where we sat amongst the birds having a delicious Costa Rican breakfast. Afterwards Dylan sent some beautiful photos and a list of all the birds we had seen.
