Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon
Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, built in the late 1880s by French colonists, is one of the few remaining strongholds of Catholicism in the largely Buddhist Vietnam. Located in Paris Square, the name Notre Dame was given after the installation of the statue ‘Peaceful Notre Dame’ in 1959. In 1962, the Vatican conferred the Cathedral status as a basilica and gave it the official name of Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Measuring almost 60 metres in height, the cathedral’s distinctive neo-Romanesque features include the all-red brick façade (which were imported from Marseille), stained glass windows, two bell towers containing six bronze bells that still ring to this day, and a peaceful garden setting in the middle of downtown Ho Chi Minh City District 1.
Saigon Central Post Office
The Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh is a beautifully preserved remnant of French colonial times and perhaps the grandest post office in all of Southeast Asia. Located next door to Notre Dame Cathedral, the two cultural sites can be visited together and offers visitors a chance to imagine life in Vietnam during the times of the Indochinese Empire. The building was designed by Alfred Foulhoux and features arched windows and wooden shutters, just as it would have in its heyday in the late 19th Century.

Dear Anna, Rudi and I truly enjoyed exploring Ho Chi Minh City with you as our guide. Thank you for sharing your deep and well-founded knowledge of the city’s history, culture, and everyday life in such an engaging way. We especially appreciated visiting places away from the main tourist routes, such as the local food and clothing market, which gave us a much more authentic impression of the city. Your warm hospitality during the excellent lunch was another highlight of the day. Thanks to you, we were able to see all the important and beautiful landmarks of Ho Chi Minh City, while receiving clear, compact, and very informative explanations in excellent English. We can highly recommend you as a tour guide. The same applies to your driver, with whom we felt completely safe at all times. Thank you for everything. We wish you continued joy and passion in your work as a tour guide and would happily book another tour with you anytime. Warm regards Rita

We had lunch at a restaurant thatt Bao took us to, it consisted of Soup, 4 main dishes, rice, a desert and a drink, we both enjoyed our meal. I can recommend this company, they are very reliable and Bao was a terrific guide

We booked the private tour from cruise terminal Phu My to Ho Chi Minh City and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our guide Tony Tap made contact with us directly via WhatsApp and was very easy to find at the port entrance. We were taken by luxury air conditioned mini bus with water provided to the city. Tony was really helpful and full of information and interesting stories along the way. Each place we visited was really well organised with Tony either sorting out speedy entrance and even guiding at the location with the transport never far away. He treated us to a traditional Vietnamese coffee and later very generously paid for a tradition lunch and even bought us all a cold local beer. We really enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely recommend this private trip.

We had a fantastic Best of Ho Chi Minh private tour with Kai and an expert driver—and trust me, that driver deserves a medal 🏅. The two-hour drive from the port into the city is not for the faint of heart; traffic rules are more of a suggestion and it truly feels like every man (and scooter) for himself. Having a highly trained driver was not a luxury—it was survival. Once we arrived, everything was smooth, comfortable, and wonderfully organized. We toured all the “must-see” sights in a brand-new luxury van that easily fit our party of four, giving us a front-row seat to the energy of Ho Chi Minh City—without actually having to dodge motorbikes ourselves (huge win). Lunch was a highlight: delicious chicken pho at a Michelin Guide local eatery that proved simple food can be absolutely extraordinary. Kai was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the day both informative and fun, sharing insights while keeping the pace relaxed and enjoyable. If you want to see Ho Chi Minh City in comfort, learn a lot, eat well, and live to tell the tale of the traffic—this is the tour. Highly recommend Kai and this unforgettable experience!

Amazing private tour with Rushy & driver. Beautiful car. Easily organised through Viator, then contact immediate via whatsapp with our guide Rushy. Rushy spoke excellent English and was so knowledgable about Vietnam and the culture. He checked with us about timings back to the cruise port so all was good. We visited Notre Dame, The Post Office, bunker, war remnants museum, independence palace, and the emperor pagoda. It was amazing we learnt so much from Rishy. We lunched on authentic Vietnamese food of noodle soup and the fab sugar cane drink. Well worth the trip. Thank you Rishy x

We had the best tour to the Cu Chi tunnels with our tour guide J Kay. He knew all of the history was easy to understand, knew where to take us to avoid the crowds and is also a really good bloke. After leaving the tunnel's we stopped at a great restaurant for lunch before catching some sights on way back to our cruise ship.

I book this tour because we wanted a little of everything in Ho Chi Minh City. Richie was spectacular! From the communications via WhatsApp to the personalized pick up from the port, it was well worth it. A few days before, Richie asked what we had in mind and what sights we wanted to visit. He gave his opinion and created an itinerary we would all enjoy. I messaged him about a local Koi Fish restaurant and he advised it might be packed due to tourist popularity but he found a similarly location and it was breathtaking. It was a restaurant where the seating area INSIDE was a Koi Pond! I hope to upload pictures later on this app because it was stunning! We were able to feed the fish while sipping on refreshments! After that, we headed to the museum but my mom wasn’t feeling well because of the heat, so we left a little early. We opt out of the other location and wanted to go straight to the market instead. I had also mentioned about trying the famous egg coffee, and Richie was able to find a coffee shop that sold it along the way. Richie was very flexible and willing to work navigating around our circumstances. His driver was funny and entertaining along the way! Richie spoke good English where we could understand each location as we went on throughout our day. He made sure we got back to our port right on time with no traffic issues. I highly recommend this tour! 10/10
