This may have been our favorite part of our trip to the Azores (with maybe the exception of the whale watching trip). This full day tour has IT ALL!! First of all I must say how awesome our guide Kevin was. He had so much knowledge and was so passionate about what he did. We almost did not take the tour because it said it starts at Lajes do Pico and we were staying on the other side of the island with no transportation. But then we saw in a review that he picked someone else up in Madalena so we contacted him and for a very small extra fee (gas isn't free) he picked us up at our hotel in Madalena as well! And he structured the whole tour around that side of the island first. But he still made sure to hit all of the spots on the island that were must-sees. We walked along the volcanic rock along the coast, through a small village with a little museum on wine making and through the really cool vineyards that are unlike anywhere in the world. Lunch was awesome, fresh bread, a tuna fish spread (which I don't eat) and tomatoes from his own garden and local cheeses and for dessert a mousse he made himself which he also shared the recipe with us. The main lava tunnel was closed due to a crack in the roof but there was another lava tunnel that he took us to that was really cool. And the wine tasting was wonderful! The wines were excellent and we even got to choose a snack! If you are visiting Pico and did not rent a car this tour is the way to go to see everything and have great guide to show you it all!

In the morning we hiked along the coastline, learning about the ingenious and picturesque configuration of Pico vineyards and their connection to the sea. After a tasty lunch at a charming cafe, we journey up to the Plateau, experiencing a vastly different flora. Kevin is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, and very kind. I would happily book with him again!

Kevin was a fantastic guide. He was knowledgeable about the island and since I was traveling with my elderly parents , he amended the tour to consider their abilities. We saw all of the highlights of the island and had a very yummy picnic that he put together for us! Would highly recommend booking him.

Kevin is a super nice guide. He has a lot of knowledge about the island and adapts the route to your own wishes. It is definitely recommended! We did the tour on our first day on Pico which was very nice. Kevin also gave good tips for the days after and that was very nice. 100% worth the money

We ended up having a very rainy and foggy day on Pico Island but that didn’t stop Kevin from showing us the historical, geologic, and cultural wonders of Pico. He didn’t leave any stones unturned, driving us all around the island to visit the different villages and learn about Pico’s whaling history and historic wine production. We visited 3 small fact-filled museums but the highlight was the personal touch (and sense of humor) Kevin brought to each one explaining things that would have gone unnoticed had we not had his services. Kevin provided us with a delicious, sustainably packed lunch which included tomatoes from his personal garden. We hiked the coastal lava fields and the UNESCO Landscape of the Pico Island Vineyard Culture. One of the greatest highlights was the Grutas das Torres, the lava tunnel caves. I can’t say enough good things about this tour and Kevin, our guide, who was not only a delight to spend the day with but also very knowledgeable about Pico Island’s geologic and volcanic history. Overall, he shared his love of the little things and subtle beauty of the island. We loved the tour and Pico island.

Great day on the island of Pico thanks to our guide Kevin. We had one day on the island of Pico and Kevin adapted to our schedule and made us discover wonderful spots, this combined with a pic Nic break in an amazing setting. One thing is certain, we would not have discovered this beautiful island as well without our guide. We recommend it without any hesitation. The extra key: Kevin speaks fluent French which was very pleasant to understand perfectly and remember all the information that was delivered to us during the visit.

Magnificent Welcoming of Kevin who made us discover (in French) many nuggets of Pico in a very short time. A warm day and as pleasant for children as for parents. Thank you 🤩

We, as a family, had a great day with Kevin! He took us around the island and adapted the program so that it was great for our children aged 9 and 11 too! The beautiful views, the short hikes over the lava fields along the coast, the delicious lunch (with tomatoes and lettuce from our own garden), the snorkeling, the short stories about the history, the rock, the vegetation, everything brought personally and the tour of a beautiful cave were unforgettable! Thank you very much, Kevin!
