Fully recommended activity. I went with my wife and the guide made us a private excursion, adapted to our needs. Thank you very much to Kevin for his treatment and for his explanations about Pico. He also prepared us a lunch, with typical island specialties and with products from his own garden, in an incredible place. Definitely the best way to get to know the island.

Kevin is a superb, knowledgeable tour guide - and a genuinely wonderful person. We were there during the rainy season but he made sure we saw so many wonderful sites - including a lava tube, the wine region and many more…just the best!

Kevin is an excellent guide! He’s knowledgeable about the islands, professional, friendly and has a great sense of humor. He adjusts quickly to the weather and makes sure everyone has a great experience. He is also very sensitive to any physical issues of his guests. We loved our day…even though it was rainy in the upper regions, we still had a great day! Pico Island is beautiful! Thank you Kevin! 🙏🏼😊

  • Highly recommend spending a day with Kevin

We had a great time with Kevin and would highly recommend this activity. He was knowledgeable, friendly, organized, and adaptable / accommodating of our interests and preferences. We got a great overview of the island, history, geology and nature. As well as a delicious picnic lunch. We had intended to do this tour on our first day on the island but it ended up being on our last day and still added a lot to our experience. Kevin was generous with his time and followed up with recommendations for our next destination as well.

  • Superb day trip experience – highly recommended

I booked a day trip with Kevin and he tailored it to my interest and the weather we had on that day. For a small uplift he even picked me up and dropped me later again at my hotel in Madalena. We visited a lava tube where we were early enough to just be the two of us inside, and he showed me other interesting lava formations later on the island and informed me about the geological background and the existing fauna and flora. We did a short and informative hike through the wine yards which are a UNESCO World Heritage and enjoyed the overview from an old windmill. He drove me through the higher parts of the island to visit several picturesque lakes within the mountain scenery and a beautiful area which consists of typical laurissilva forests, with the maritime pine (pinus pinaster), morella faya (Myrica faya) and incense (pittosporum undulatum). Though Pico mountain stayed within the clouds for all of the day, he found many places with stunning views including a fabulous picnic at such, gazing over the beautiful coastline of the island. In the later afternoon we visited some older villages at the seaside including fascinating cliff and ocean scenery (though tempting, I did not take the opportunity for a bath in the natural pools as I went scuba diving the following days). Kevin was very knowledgeable about the island and everything he showed to me and the time spent on the different place was just right. As we had both fun and really great conversations I felt rather traveling with a new friend than "just" with a guide who is doing his job. Finally, Kevin provided me with some hints and tips for my upcoming days, including where to find the best ice-cream on the island, a nice hike near the coast and things to visit for a day on the neighbor island Faial. Conclusion: I do highly recommend booking one or more tours with Kevin. Thanks for the memorable time, Kevin!

To keep it short it was an amazing day for us. Now for the longer version. We had all for season in one day, so a tipical azorian weather and Kevin made the absolute best of it. The Picknick with local cheese and homegrown grapes and Tomatoes was a Highlight for us. Kevin asked us in advance what we would especially like to see and adapted the tour accordingly. We got some History, a lot of nature, some interesting facts and insights into local life from an outside perspective. He had charts and maps and pictures. He even sent us some links and ideas for things to do the following days..

Kevin was a great tour guide of the island. He was very knowledgeable about the different caters and information about the volcanic activity on the island. The lunch spot was beautiful and the scenery made it for a great spot to have a picnic. Kevin brought food from his garden which was delicious and added to an already great experience. The hiking spots he took us too including the lava tunnels, we would have never known to go on our own and it ended up being one of our favorite days on our trip. Kevin was very personable and toward the end was more like we were hanging out with a friend and then being escorted by a tour guide. We highly recommend!

We had an amazing day with Kevin as our tour guide. He showed us all around Pico island, was very informative and friendly with our group. He also packed the most delicious picnic lunch, most of which came out of his own garden. I would HIGHLY suggest anyone consider Kevin for your trip to Pico!

  • We're rarely booking a guide, but Kevin gives you really something special. He really adds his heart to these adventures. You go

The tour with Kevin is unbelievable. Kevin is making sure you won't miss anything you should see on the island. Besides, Kevin gave us a lot of suggestions for restaurants and other visits. Kevin knows a lot about the nature of pico. We he even let us try some wild herbs i would have never known they were eatable. Sure, you can do everything without a guide, but this add-on gives you so much more. The Picknick Kevin planned was the cherry on the cake as we weren't expecting that at all. Thanks for this special date
