Join us at this adventure to the summit (2351m) of Pico Mountain! This is the most iconic and memorable experience in the Azores, perfect for those who are in good physical condition, even without any mountaineering experience. Our meeting point will be Casa da Montanha 1200m where we will give a briefing to the entire group, review the necessary equipment and receive our locators to begin our journey of approximately 7 hours to 2351 meters and return. The trail is approximately 8km long and is entirely on volcanic rock with an average slope of 30%, promising challenging differences in level. In the first part of the trail, an intense change in breathing pattern and/or lack of balance are warning signs, as this is a sampling of the difference in level and the type of terrain that we will have in the next few hours on Pico Mountain and the participant may not be suitable for the activity. *Participants over 60 years old or children under 12 years old are not included in the groups, please request a private activity at a different price. *You must fill in all personal information. *The reservation will only be completed if there are spaces available at Casa da Montanha.

Our group of eleven people, including our amazing guide Isabel, started the hike up Mount Pico on October 10, 2025. We met around 8:00 a.m., began our ascent at about 8:30 a.m., and returned to the base around 3:30 p.m. We all started the climb with a sense of uncertainty, but the journey up and down was truly incredible. The views were absolutely breathtaking — one of those moments you never forget. What really made the experience stand out was our guide, Isabel. She was full of energy, passion, and enthusiasm from the very beginning. Her positive spirit was contagious and kept the whole group motivated all the way to the summit and back down. She was open, talkative, and truly cared about everyone’s experience. This is exactly how a guide should be — professional, inspiring, and full of life. It was an unforgettable adventure with a great team, full of laughter, effort, and shared joy. Everyone made it up and down safely, and I couldn’t be more thankful for this day. I can highly recommend this experience to anyone — it was simply fantastic.

Climbing Pico Mountain was an absolutely unforgettable experience! Raisa was an amazing guide—she set the perfect pace, making sure everyone felt comfortable and motivated throughout the hike. Her clear explanations and detailed guidance gave us confidence, and we always knew what to expect at each stage of the climb. We were also incredibly lucky with the weather and enjoyed stunning, clear views of all the surrounding islands—breathtaking and quite a rare sight! If you’re planning to climb Pico, I can’t recommend Raisa highly enough—she truly made the experience exceptional

We climbed the Pico Mountain in our last day in the Azores and it was an unforgettable experience! Isabel was a great guide. She set a perfect pace throughout the hike, making sure everyone felt comfortable and motivated. Her clear explanations and indications along the way gave us confidence, and we always knew what to expect from each stage of the climb. We were also very lucky with the weather and had a clear view of all the surrounding islands—absolutely breathtaking, especially this is very rare. Best way to end-up our honeymoon. If you’re considering climbing Pico, I can’t recommend Isabel highly enough—she truly made the experience amazing!

Raisa was a kind, patient guide with a good sense of humour who was able to balance the different abilities in the group very well! She balanced efficiency, fun and humour. This was a very difficult climb but an amazing life experience :) having a guide is necessary to having a positive experience.

We really enjoyed our experience! Raisa was great and it was nice meeting people in the group. We initially wanted to climb Pico ourselves but the slots were all full so we booked this guided grip. Thank you very much!

It was me and my boyfriend’s first mountaineering experience and it was amazing! We are fairly active people in their late 20s/early 30s, and even though it was a bit challenging at times, the pace set by our guide Isabel was great, the morale was high and the breaks were exactly when we felt like we needed them the most. The guide was also very knowledgeable about the history and nature of the volcano. For future climbers, do not underestimate the wind cold when climbing in the early mornings, i advise to take some light gloves and a proper hat or headband with you. Overall a great experience with an even greater guide Isabel!

A punctual guide, who adorned the climb with her comments covering both the flora and the geological aspects of Pico Raisa, instilled a good mood and adapted the pace to the group while paying particular attention to less agile participants. If you intend to "rub" at Pico I recommend this guide: Raïsa What else?

I want to specify the professionalism, kindness and availability of our guide Raisa who supported me during my fall in the descent of Pico (9 stitches.... the lava is very sharp! ) Raisa made the first bandages with a lot of cold blood before accompanying me to the hospital.

Highly recommend climbing Pico with Raisa as your guide! She was so friendly and supportive and really kept the group motivated. We had climbed a couple of smaller mountains before but were very glad we decided to go with a guide as it was a difficult climb and we would have definitely got lost without! Everyone in the group was very friendly and it was a really lovely day. We even had lunch at the very top of Pico. Highly recommend - thank you so much!
