Tour with an experienced wine guide to the famous cellar doors of Marlborough on this approx. 5-hour shore excursion from Picton to Blenheim. Compare the aromas of Marlborough's finest wines and taste the passion that goes into every bottle. You will visit four to five wineries ranging from the internationally famous to boutique, family-run wineries. One stop will be at a vineyard restaurant for lunch (at own cost) as well as a wine tasting. Finish the day with a nibble of hand made gourmet chocolates at a chocolate factory.

What To Expect
Waitohi Picton isite Visitor Information Centre
Meet your guide at the Picton i-Site after your cruise ship docks. Then board a luxury minibus and enjoy the drive through the Koromiko mountain pass to the Marlborough wine region while your guide points out ecological and historical places of interest; this small-group tour is limited to 11 people to ensure a more intimate atmosphere. You will visit four or five cellar doors (time permitting) around the Marlborough vineyards. Taste their award winning wines and learn how Marlborough's Sauvignon Blanc has reached the pinnacle of sophistication, then take a stroll through a vineyard and learn how climate, soil, and skill combine to make these incredible wines. Marlborough is not all about Sauvignon Blanc - we have stunning Rieslings, crisp and fruity Pinot Gris, oaked and unoaked Chardonnay and our renown Pinot Noir. A stop will be made for lunch (own expense), featuring delicacies such as mussels, salmon, venison or beef when available. Alternatively, a light meal of gourmet local cheeses to pair with your wine might suffice. On the way back to the port, we stop at the chocolate factory for a nibble of hand-made gourmet chocolates. You will return to the Picton wharf at least 90 minutes before your cruise ship departs.

5.00Fantastic day all round. Bruce was great. Made sure we were back in plenty of time to get the shuttle back to the boat. Wines were very nice (as expected). Lunch spot was superb. Highly recommend.

5.00What a fantastic day in Picton with Marsley. She was a wealth of knowledge about the area and, of course, the wines and the wineries. Our small group of 10 stopped at four wineries and tasted four lovely wines in each. We learned about the wines of New Zealand and had lots of laughs over lunch at the Spy Winery. She was very conscious of our time and returned us to the shuttle in plenty of time to stop at a chocolate factory.

5.00This is a great trip to the Marlborough wineries & our host, Marsley, picked 4 great wineries. We had lunch at a fantastic restaurant (on your own) and a last stop at a handmade chocolate company. The wineries were very welcoming and ready for our small group when we arrived. The day was well-planned by Marsley and I highly recommend Jade Tours.

5.00The group was small, we were travelling in a comfy minibus, the weather was sunny and just perfect for a tour around the vineyards and wineries. Our guide John was very knolegeable and with great sense of humour. He was strict on timing so we've been able to visit all the scheduled place and then back on time to the ship. It was brilliant experience with Jade wine tours.

She grew up in the area and owns a vineyard- so she was completely plugged in to what was happening in the area, and eager to share the information. 5.00Fantastic tour!! Our local driver/guide was awesome!! Lucinda was very knowledgeable of both the local area and everything associated with the wine making process. She also was very concerned with everyone’s comfort and well being. We started with a visit to a chocolate factory and then 4 wineries with lunch at one of them. Awesome tour!!!!
