What To Expect
• 6:10 am - 6:45 am: Pick up from hotels in the historic center of Arequipa. • 6:50 am: Departure from Arequipa towards Pillone Fall. • 8:20 am: Arrival in the town of Pampa de Arrieros, known as the "ghost town" of Arequipa. We will visit the old station and the church of San Antonio de Padua. • 8:50 am: Stop at the viewpoint of the western mountain range where you can observe the volcanoes Ampato, Sabancaya and Hualca Hualca. From this point we will be inside the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve. • 9:15 am: Stop in the Pampa Blanca sector for spotting of vicuñas and panoramic views of the volcanoes Misti, Chachani and the snowy Pichu Pichu.
Patahuasi
• 9:45 am: Arrival in Patahuasi. Here you can have breakfast, coffee or coke mate, and buy local crafts. From this point, we will be over 4,000 masl. • 10:30 am: Stop at Bofedal Umaluso Tambo Cañahuas to observe llamas, alpacas and vicuñas.

5.00Our day started with mostly clear blue skys which offered great views of the surrounding mountains including the famous volcano Misty. Our guide Mario had a wealth of information about the sights we visited, including the "ghost town", the rock forest, and the beautiful water falls. Mario's English was near perfect and his knowlege was appreciated. The breakfast and lunch were decent and we saw lots of llamas, alpacas and the sometimes elusive vicuñas. I would definitely recommend this company for great tours in the Arequipa area.

5.00We had a great time on this tour. From the first stop at the town of Pampa de Arrieros to the main attractions of the Bosque de Piedras de Puruña and Cataratas de Pillone. Mario was an excellent guide who was able to explain everything in both Spanish and English. Our driver (sorry I can't remember his name) was also excellent and obviously very experienced. The breakfast and lunch at Patahuasi was the best we've had during our time in Peru.
