Private Tour
Pineapple in Taiwanese, “Wong Lai,” means good luck and prosperity. We invite you to make your own pineapple cakes. Follow the steps the master teaches you. Kneading the dough to crispy pastry, stuffing pineapple fillings from Tainan Guanmiao, you will find it interesting to make zesty pineapple cakes of your own.
DIY Pineapple Cakes-kneading the dough, stuffing, shaping, wrapping (9 pieces/person)-is suitable for families. We will introduce the history and culture of traditional Taiwanese cakes and pastries. You can also purchase souvenirs at the first floor of the museum, which will be the perfect gifts for both your friends and yourselves. Justaiwantour will give you the best experience of traditional Taiwanese desserts.

We did this experience with our two kids (7 and 5), and we had an awesome time. The pineapples cakes turned out great and our kids loved the overall experience.

Well organized and delicious! The cooks brought lots of enthusiasm and fun to the event and my aunt and I had a wonderful time learning how to make pineapple cakes!

Fun to have a hands on activity making an iconic Taiwanese pastry. The step by step instructions and demonstration were really helpful. I also liked learning about some Taiwanese customs in the museum.

Upon arrival we entered a waiting area with lots of hands on activities for children or all ages. We went into the kitchen, washed, got aprons and instructions. All instructions were clear and in both Chinese and English. A chef demonstrated and monitored progress for all while docents were at each workspace to advise participants. After the cakes were in the oven, we washed again and went to the museum level, again with a docent. Very nice explanation of the history and culture surrounding Taiwan as it relates to this bakery. Again, it was very interactive for the all including traditional dress for photos. Back in the workspace we packaged our finished product. We also got to sample one of our cookies. AMAZING pineapple shortbread! Recommend this tour for foodies, history types, and especially families. The families that were part of this tour were thoroughly involved, active, and definitely not bored.
