What To Expect
Government House
Government House, located on a 10 acre estate, stands on Mount Fitzwilliam and is the official residence of the Governor General of The Bahamas. It dates back to 1801 and this imposing pink and white building on Duke Street is an excellent example of the mingling of Bahamian-British and American Colonial architecture.
The Caves of New Providence
Nassau’s caves were created by the sea, millions of years ago. The area that is now the caves was originally at sea level, and ocean waves gradually wore away the softer parts of the sedimentary rock, leaving what are now large hollows. The Lucayans, the original inhabitants of The Bahamas, used the caves for various purposes, including food storage and to protect themselves during hurricanes. These caves are now home to fruit bats. If you are lucky, you may even get to see one!

5.00We had a group of 10 in three jeeps. The tour guides were awesome!!!!! We felt safe the entire time and had so much fun. It was our favorite part of the entire cruise. We found them all to be very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions about the history of the island. I highly recommend!!

5.00Our tour was may 19th 26, Captain Slim Jim poicked us up at our resort on time. He was soooo much and so knowlegeable on the different stop along the way. He never made us feel rushed and he answered all our questions. He did aa amazing job and we would book again when we get back to the bahamas. Great meeting you Slim Jim and dark Chocolate. 5.00This private Pirate Jeep Tour in Nassau was wonderful! Our experienced tour guide "Ruby" was fantastic! Ruby was born and raised in Nassau. She shared her personal experiences as a Bermudian, current politics and historical knowledge about pirates and Nassau's development. We visited gift shops, enjoyed samples at the rum brewery, a candy factory, and a special tea house which included a lecture on beneficial health teas which we are enjoying now, and also products made on the island. We visited an unusual cave used by the pirates with a rainbow colored limestone interior and little fruit bats that call it home. We truly appreciated how she carefully planned our 3 hour private 2 person tour within our time constraints to return to the ship on time! Thank you Ruby & Pirate Jeep Tours Sightseeing Adventure for a perfect afternoon in Nassau! We will look for you again when we return to the island!

5.00We had an incredible experience with Pirate Jeep Tours while visiting the Bahamas—made even better by our amazing guide, Slick Rick! His knowledge of Nassau’s history was truly impressive, and he brought every stop to life with stories and details we never would have picked up on our own. We loved learning about the color-coded buildings around the island (pink for government, blue for police, etc.)—such a cool detail! Highlights included visiting the cave where Prince Alfred once took cover (complete with hand-built stairs by natives to stay dry), exploring Fort Charlotte, and stopping at Greycliff to check out the winery, chocolate factory, and cigar factory. We wrapped things up at John Watling’s Distillery, which was the perfect final stop. What really set this tour apart was that Rick personally guided us through every location, sharing insights the entire time and making it feel like such a personal experience. We had great conversation throughout and never felt rushed. Highly recommend Pirate Jeep Tours—and if you can, definitely request Slick Rick. He made the day unforgettable!

5.00Captain Slick Rick is a wonderful guide. We all (ages 23 (2), 52, 56) had an amazing day touring Nassau and learning about pirate and Bahamian history. We also stopped along the way for a few delicious food and drink samples where we had the option to purchase some drinks, candy and souvenirs without any pressure to buy anything but were happy to support the local economy and bring some treats home! I highly recommend Pirate Jeep Tours, ask for Captain Slick Rick!

5.00Absolutely had a blast! ☠️🏴☠️ “Mad Mary” was an absolute legend. We did both the pirate tour and the rum tour, and she kept the laughs, energy, and rowdy pirate spirit going the entire day. From start to finish, it felt like sailing with the most entertaining captain on the seven seas. The stories, the vibe, the fun — all top tier. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip, and we’ll absolutely be booking again when we return. Worth every doubloon!
