I really enjoyed this experience as an introduction to Colombian culture. I learned about the Colombian philosophy of “nothing goes to waste”, which we saw evidence of in the market, and which I want to start implementing in my life. Daniela and her mom were wonderful hosts and the home-cooked meal warmed me straight to the heart. We even got to try some local fruits. As a bonus, I learned a lot of Spanish words. Highly recommend this class!

What a lovely and unforgettable experience! Cooking with Daniela and her mom felt like leaving dinner with my own family. We made a delicious traditional Colombian soup and fresh arepas together, and the whole evening was filled with warmth, laughter, and genuine hospitality. Thank you, Daniela, for inviting me into your home and sharing such a special part of Colombian culture with me. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Medellín — you’ll leave with a full belly and an even fuller heart!

What a wonderful experience it was meeting Daniela and her mother Beatriz, it is an absolute must do event in Medellin! Before the day, Daniela was in contact with me, giving me the menu choices for lots of appetizers, main dishes and deserts. I nominated one of each - Appetizer (Papa rellena), Main dish (Ajiaco) and Dessert (Almojábana with guava and cheese cake). We visited Plaza Minorista to get the ingredients, and while there Daniela pointed out lots and lots of different fruits and vegetables, also I saw the meat and fish stalls. When then went to Daniela´s apartment and she and her motherdid most of the preparation with me assisting (because of the short time available, it needed three people to prepare the three dishes). All the time of preparation, Daniela was explaining what was happening. It was an enjoyable time. However, even more enjoyable was eating the delicious food!!! Also heaing stories about Colombia, I learnt a lot. So without doubt, if you want an authentic Colombian experience, make this a must do visit. It is fun and get to eat very healthy food. 100% recommended!!!

Daniella and her mother were wonderful! I especially enjoyed walking through the markets. The fruits that I got to taste were not fruits I was familiar with and the food we prepared was great.

It was a wonderful experience with Daniela and her mother. They picked us up in our hotel in El Poblado, and off we went to explore the Plaza Minorista market. Good thing we had them as guides, would have been hopelessly lost otherwise! It was great to see so many Colombian vendors and shoppers in action, and we tried several fruits we'd never seen before. Then back to Daniela's home where all 4 of us got to work preparing the 3-course meal we'd chosen in advance, in her very functional and professional kitchen. We made patacón with toppings, lentil cazuela, and almojabana with guava - all highly recommended. Even the salsa for the patacón was made from scratch. The four of us enjoyed our creations in a sit-down meal in Daniela's cozy and well-lit dining room. It was a great chance to chat to the two of them about life in Medellín and Colombia's past, present and future.

Daniela and her mother were a great hosts and a teachers. We all had a wonderful time and enjoyed the market and cooking. Likes: - the food, the drink, the market (and trying wonderful fruits there. suggested Improvements:- recipes or opportunity to take a photo of the recipe for future use - we generally were hoping to be more involved in the process of cooking than we were. We helped, but feel it would have been more fun to do the vast majority of the meal preperations.
