Pompeii
At arrival in Pompeii your Skip-the-Line tickets to the ancient site will be much appreciated as you breeze past the long lines and enter into this time capsule of the ancient Roman world. Here you will meet your local, expert, English speaking guide who knows all the hidden corners and interesting tales that are waiting to be discovered inside. Visit the marvelously preserved ancient villas, public baths, restaurants, theatres, and maybe even a brothel, of the ancient world as the past comes to life through the insights and stories of your enthusiastic guide.
Costiera Amalfitana
After some free time for a few last pictures of Pompeii and lunch (at own expense) the tour will continue further south along the picturesque seaside roads of the Amalfi Coast where the Dolce Vita was born. Here your breath will be taken away by the spectacular coastlines as the mountains cascade into the sea and romantic villages climb up the mountains like grapevines.

Our guide Vivianna was fantastic and provided a lot of information about the areas we traveled to. Antonio our driver made the trip seamless by providing transportation services which took the stress out of coordinating our trains back from p Pompei. We were also able to see the breathtaking Amalfi coastline through this tour which we could not have done otherwise. Our Pomei guide Enzo was funny and knowledgeable about the history of the area. All in all an amazing day. Thank you all for the memories!

Very nice day trip, lovely towns and the drive is very scenic, our guide Francesca was very attentive, knowledgeable and clear with instructions. Although not everything was open because of low season the experience is still worth it.

Ion was hands down the best tour guide I’ve ever had. From the very beginning, his energy was infectious he was incredibly knowledgeable, sharp, and genuinely funny, which made every moment of the tour engaging and memorable. He seemed to know everything and explained it in a way that was both fascinating and easy to follow. What truly stood out was his constant upbeat attitude and enthusiasm it never felt forced, just pure passion for what he does. Ion made the experience come alive, and you could tell he genuinely loves sharing his knowledge with others. I absolutely loved this tour, and if I had the chance, I would do it again in a heartbeatespecially if Ion were the guide. He set the bar impossibly high.

I researched Pompei way back in high school over 50 years ago. It was fascinating then and more so now: seeing homes, decor, roads, waste management, restaurants, cart wheel damage to the streets, cats wandering freely begging for a scratch or pat, artisan water available by tap at one location, and picture vantage points...I still love post cards - unless I reverse the lens and put myself in the picture. NO WHEELCHAIRS AT ALL...be prepared to sit while companions do the walking at Pompei. The museum held many more wonders...jewelry, an entombed family, a dog...so, so sad, yet beauty of their last moments...kudos to the man who discovered a way to find the bodies buried in ash and preserve their bodies for us to understand the love & anguish as they perished together. The Margharrita pizza was filling...not as thermally hot as I would have LOVED & i just love plain water although other drinks were available as part of the tour package, AND a tasty treat for dessert. Seeing the beauty of the Amalfi coast was very nice - movies HAD been made here...a very different drive from other mountain roads and cities I've visited: Route 1 in California; The Greek coast: train riding from Athens to Soloneki and driving down the next two fingers of their coast; and some Colorado roads and towns perched on mountain edges... The skinny roads in Amalfi reminded me of Brazillian coast and Colorado back streets in Estes Park. The next part of our journey was harrowing indeed. The bus driver handled the curves wonderfully... When we reached Positano we changed to smaller vans and drove down MUCH skinnier streets - impassable for large buses. At our drop off point there were benches to wait for our eager bus companions to walk WAY DOWN to the water & back in 2 hours...a VERY STEEP CLIMB in both directions...a short walk one way to Gelato and the other to a variety of shops. SO...no NEED to walk to the bottom of the hill we waited on benches or sat on a wall overlooking the view The bus driver has to be mentioned yet again. It poured rain all the way back to Rome. He kept safe distances from cars, trucks, other buses and used a device similar to WAZE used by many drivers in USA. He NEVER had to put on his breaks as in an emergency stop...he kept safe distances...I was in a front seat so I witnessed several harrowing experiences up the road and he was all calm..

very well organized, be on time, the bus leaves on time, with or without you. Pompeij is really worth to visit, but try not to choose a high-season date, as there is overtourism. 1.5 hours is really too short for the guide who was very competent, and the german curator of Pompeij - Gabriel Zuchtriegel - has published a book in 2025 that adds to the understanding who people lived in Pompeji. The next stop is the amalfi coast, 1 one hour drive, which in Winter is not attractive. The charme of the coast is lost in a cloudy, even rainy day. Everything followed swiss timing, perfectly organized, but 3 hours drive back to Rome is not pleasant, knowing that you rather have spent more hours in Pompeji. the bus seats were very dirty from long-term use, but USB outlets, and slow WiFi

This was a great day trip from Rome to Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast, and Positano. Our guide, Flavio, was incredibly personable and knowledgeable, and our driver, Julius, was excellent. Flavio also shared helpful tips on other places to visit and offered useful safety recommendations. Both Flavio and Julius were very organized and kept the tour on schedule. The tour included a few unnecessary stops (such as the limoncello factory), and there was a bit too much time spent on the bus. That said, both the guide and driver did an outstanding job overall. I highly recommend this tour for a day outside of Rome.
