Pompeii
At arrival in Pompeii your Skip-the-Line tickets to the ancient site will be much appreciated as you breeze past the long lines and enter into this time capsule of the ancient Roman world. Here you will meet your local, expert, English speaking guide who knows all the hidden corners and interesting tales that are waiting to be discovered inside. Visit the marvelously preserved ancient villas, public baths, restaurants, theatres, and maybe even a brothel, of the ancient world as the past comes to life through the insights and stories of your enthusiastic guide.
Costiera Amalfitana
After some free time for a few last pictures of Pompeii and lunch (at own expense) the tour will continue further south along the picturesque seaside roads of the Amalfi Coast where the Dolce Vita was born. Here your breath will be taken away by the spectacular coastlines as the mountains cascade into the sea and romantic villages climb up the mountains like grapevines.

We opted for this tour as wanted to make the most of our time on a visit to Rome and take in Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. It is a little chaotic when you meet early morning (6:50 am) in Piazza del Popolo as there isn’t really any clear instructions as to what is happening whilst the sour out the tour groups. There is a short walk to the coach outside the square and once on board you are given more information. There is a comfort break stop (after approx 2 hours) at Cassino on the way to Pompeii. Once you arrive in Pompeii it is a short walk from the coach to the entrance where you meet a Guide who is very knowledgeable and interesting. Pompeii is an amazing experience and covers a huge area. A 2 hour tour covers approximately 1/5th of the site. You are offered a lunch option (which you pay for separately) at the Restaurant where the coach parks. Personally I would not take up the Pizza/Pasta lunch offered by the tour company but instead use the snack bar just by the entrance to Pompeii. Back in the coach they announce a stop at a Limoncello Factory which is very much geared up for selling local produce and crafts - make of this what you will ! Here you are transferred from the Coach to Mini Buses for the journey to Positano. The seats we encountered on the mini bus were broken and kept falling back so not the most comfortable ride on the narrow winding coast road but the views were beautiful along the coast. Positano is beautiful. Be prepared for walking the steep roads of the village. There are beautiful shops but all very expensive. You have free time to explore and afterwards are taken by the mini bus back to meet the coach for your trip back to Rome which is about 3 hours or so. Our guide was Valentina who was charming. Paolo was our main Coach driver and did an excellent job. We felt Valentins could have been a little more informative as to what was happening at times, particularly with regard to the organisation of the mini bus transfers as at one point we were a little worried we were in the wrong bus. All in all we felt the trip was good value for money and really enjoyed our day. Please note that this is about a 13/14 hour day trip so if you have children you may wish to consider whether this trip is for you.

Alberto took good care of us during the trip. He made us feel safe. He is also very knowledgeable with multitude of information sharing. The tour guide at Pompeii, Christine was amazing too. Overall the trip was extra special because of them!

If you’re lucky enough to get Marius as your tour guide, you’re in for a great day. His planning and communication are flawless, everything runs smoothly and on time, so you can actually relax and enjoy the experience instead of worrying about the details. What really makes the tour special, though, are the stories he shares during the travel time. Marius fills the ride with fascinating insights about the cities you’re passing or about to visit, Italian culture, local food, and even a crash course on the famous Italian hand gestures. As a Roman, he also loves sharing his favorite spots, hidden gems, and recommendations. He would advise you about prices and the best spot to take a bathroom break. And whatever you do… don’t leave without asking him to sing the beer song. Dont forget to record it! Trust me, it’s worth it.

It was a beautiful day. We felt the tour of Pompeii was a little long with being almost 2 hours, but there was a lot to cover and learned so much about the site. We brought our lunch, but heard from others the lunch option (for 18 euro) was not great. Positano was beautiful and the perfect amount of time there. If you are prone to car sickness, there are lots of turns so bring some medicine. It was really lovely day. Valentina was an amazing guide.

Outstanding service from start to finish. Chiara the tour guide was exceptional! She was cheerful as early as 6:45 am, and was consistent throughout the trip to 8 pm when we arrived back at Piazza del Popolo. Chiara shared her knowledge from the Benedictine monastery to pistachios and lemon trees. An extraordinary tour, indeed. Thank you to Chiara and the safe driving of Caesare!

Mixed thoughts. Arrived at the meeting place as requested and then told to wait 20 minutes until the tour start time. Stood in a long line even though we had booked a semi private tour, we were then sent with a different guide but we could have started earlier. Tour at Pompeii was fantastic. Our guide Antonio was very knowledgeable, and provided rich history and pro tips. Our driver then “took us to a friends” place for lunch. Food was good but not scenic and fairly slow. Then we drove like a race car around curvy roads of Sorrento and Positano with no effort made to slow down or stop for a beautiful vista. Upon arrival we were told we only had one hour to walk around instead of two. There was no time to relax and enjoy the view with a drink. When asked if we could stop on the return trip for one photo we were told no. Not what I expected with a semi private tour and in my experience guides generally help you get the most of your experience. The driver offered no color or or any information on the drive at any point of the trip. The tour had great potential but I was disappointed in our driver. He did offer us his card for his other tour company. We would not rebook or recommend.

Fabrizo was great. Everything was on time and he showed us where to go once we arrived at our locations. He gave a lot of information about Italy while we were on our way. We could have done without the distillery visit, as it took away time in Sorrento and Positano. Max was a great bus driver as well.

I never went to Rome and I wanted to visit Pompeii with My Friend, but considering the price may not have visited this property too bad
