Luggage is not permitted on the coach. Please note that luggage storage is not available.

What To Expect
Pompeii
At arrival in Pompeii your Skip-the-Line tickets to the ancient site will be much appreciated as you breeze past the long lines and enter into this time capsule of the ancient Roman world. Here you will meet your local, expert, English speaking guide who knows all the hidden corners and interesting tales that are waiting to be discovered inside. Visit the marvelously preserved ancient villas, public baths, restaurants, theatres, and maybe even a brothel, of the ancient world as the past comes to life through the insights and stories of your enthusiastic guide.
Costiera Amalfitana
After some free time for a few last pictures of Pompeii and lunch (at own expense) the tour will continue further south along the picturesque seaside roads of the Amalfi Coast where the Dolce Vita was born. Here your breath will be taken away by the spectacular coastlines as the mountains cascade into the sea and romantic villages climb up the mountains like grapevines.

Disappointing—not what we expected

3.00We were very disappointed with how little time was spent at Pompeii—we were only there 1.5 hours (of a 14 hour day.) The time there felt very rushed, with a few spare minutes at the museum to see artifacts. Positano was beautiful, with plenty of adorable shops to stop in. Be aware if anyone in your party has mobility issues that the roadway to get to the bottom is steep and cannot accommodate the vans, so the walk can be a challenge. The day consists primarily of driving; we had 1.5 hours in Positano and 1.5 at the archeological site. Overall, the day felt disorganized and this was, unfortunately, not our favorite experience.
This tour was great from start to finish.

5.00My tour with City Guide Wonders was wonderfully organized and made even better with the knowledge and passion of our tour guide John. He told us fascinating stories of Roman history, has a clever sense of humour, and clearly has a passion and love for Italy. One of my favourite stories was about tomatoes! The revelation of how delicious they taste in Italy, and the origin of the word “pomodoro”. He also shared his knowledge of the regions: the history of each and how different their foods and dialects are. The tour itself was very organized and on time. The drive to Cassino and Positano was comfortable and relaxing. Our polite driver Danilo, is an excellent driver and easily navigated the windy narrow streets of Positano and the traffic along the way. John was very personable and took the time to chat with most everyone. At the end of the tour, he happily checked in with everyone asking them if they had any questions about the tour or even Rome, itself to give advice and tips to have a wonderful Roman holiday. Highly recommend John and City Wonders!

5.00Our bus ride and shuttle to Positano were breathtaking and comfortable. Lovely!!! Our driver Donealo was a champion! Our tour guide, John, was friendly, entertaining and very knowledgeable about the regional history and culture. Our Pompei guide, Fredricka, was very sweet but a little difficult to understand, using the ear phones that were provided. The Pompei experience was slightly disappointing compared to our previous visit there. It seemed abbreviated and many exhibits and statues here not present. No souvenir vendors was stationed there today😟
Great locations, but Roberto made the day exceptional.

5.00What an amazing day and Roberto was a phenomenal tour guide. From the start he was personable and ensured that everyone understood the days agenda & timeline for all stops; including bathroom & snack breaks. His knowledge of all things Italian and Roman were such great additions. He made the hours on the bus enjoyable & engaging. I cannot think of one thing I would have changed about the day. Even after 13 hours he connected with every passenger to answer questions & ensure everyone knew how to get back to their hotel & offer tips for their remainder of the stay. As for the tour itself, this is the perfect way to see these major sites in one day, if you are thinking of booking this tour, do it. Five stars for all aspects of this tour.

5.00The tour was amazing! Rob is an excellent tour guide, both entertaining and educating! I was a bit skeptical of taking a 12 hour tour, but have no regrets. The travel and tour were well organized . I highly recommend!
Pompeii and Amalfi coast trip from Rome

2.00Most of the trip is sitting a bus for hours. The tour is 12 hrs but the exposure places of interest is very limited. The Pompeii tour is very short and rushed. The whole bus was taken to a pizza restaurant that had nothing special: no view, regular pizza and rushed service. The bus trip along the coast was entertaining from inside the coach and only 2 stops were made. Time spent in Positano was 2 hours, no much to do there. Not bad but don’t have high expectations. You get what you pay for.

5.00This was an amazing experience from start to finish. The entire day was well organized, smooth, and truly unforgettable. Pompeii was fascinating, and the views along the Amalfi Coast and Positano were absolutely beautiful. What really made the trip stand out was our guide, John. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and kept everything running perfectly while making the experience fun and engaging. You can tell he genuinely cares about the group and wants everyone to have a great time. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you get John as your guide!
