Pompeii
At arrival in Pompeii your Skip-the-Line tickets to the ancient site will be much appreciated as you breeze past the long lines and enter into this time capsule of the ancient Roman world. Here you will meet your local, expert, English speaking guide who knows all the hidden corners and interesting tales that are waiting to be discovered inside. Visit the marvelously preserved ancient villas, public baths, restaurants, theatres, and maybe even a brothel, of the ancient world as the past comes to life through the insights and stories of your enthusiastic guide.
Costiera Amalfitana
After some free time for a few last pictures of Pompeii and lunch (at own expense) the tour will continue further south along the picturesque seaside roads of the Amalfi Coast where the Dolce Vita was born. Here your breath will be taken away by the spectacular coastlines as the mountains cascade into the sea and romantic villages climb up the mountains like grapevines.

Ion with City Wonders was an exceptional tour guide. We highly recommend this experience with City Wonders and specifically Ion as your guide. Ion has a remarkable gift of detailing the history and geography of Italy in an interesting and understandable way. His accent is lovely and he is easy to understand--he is also very witty. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip experience and highly recommend!!! The driver was amazing as well!!

Lucas driving was excellent. Manoeuvering The bus around the Amalfi coast is a great skill. The guide Parnian was helpful and friendly. The places we were shown were the key features for us to see. A taste for what we would like to come back and see.

Very enjoyable tour, lots of history to see at Pompeii, Positanio was pretty but very limited on what to do and see. Getting onto the busses was chaotic first thing in the morning at the meeting point and a lot of waiting around. Tour guide friendly and knowledgeable. Velcro on the seats on the coach have ruined a brand new wollen jumper getting caught everytime getting on and off the coach. A very long day over 4 hours to get back but enjoyable overall.

The trip was 3hr drive both ways (one bathroom stop in middle so make sure to get snack/water) and we got stuck sitting in the very back of bus. MISERY!! the very back middle seat has a hard plastic thing in between seats that digs in your thigh. Got to the limoncello factory first. Waste of time. They don’t show u anything (u walk through Hall and see machines that they use) ,give u the tiniest tast of limoncello, then u can buy some candy or limoncello drink…. and told you have five minutes to drink. Boo! People are really friendly but I wished I just stayed on bus or we skipped all together. Next,. to positano. It was GORGEOUS & well worth it.youre Only there a hour though but prepare to take pics as you go down the windy narrow road. We went in Dec and not many stores open and no food except pizza but still worth it. Then off to Pompeii for a few hours of tour. They give you a single earbud and Bluetooth contraption so you can hear the guide. Earbud was super muffled for me and I wish I brought my own earbuds (kids complained wishing it was headphones instead of earbuds so perhaps bring for kids opposed to ear buds like mine). The tour was really good though with plenty of time. As you walk out you get the pizza you bought. As you pay for the pizza and figure out where bathrooms are, the guide yells “get on the bus”. Honestly I Wish we never got pizza. Flavor was actually really good (super thin floppy 4pc pizza and thick crust along outside) but It’s more crust than pizza and no time to eat unless u eat on the cramped bus. I understand why they offer it and it IS a nice offer but it is simply TOO rushed. . Honestly they should cut out the limencello stop to give everyone more time for pizza and relaxed talk instead. I will say that All in all….the guide was great, the drivers are VERY skilled, and the tour of Pompeii was amazing. LOOOONG DAY. Shhhh……we considered getting the train home for 60 more euros to avoid sitting in the absolute back of the bus again…..but it REALLY was a Great tour and out of all of it, the Pompeii part wasn’t rushed at all. I’m thankful because I love history.

Such a great day trip from Rome, the bus ride is a tad long but a break stop along the way helped. The sites are worth the money for the time.

Great experience. Viviana was awesome sharing good insights on our trip to and from Pompeii & Positano, and did a fantastic job to make sure everything ran smoothly. Enrico - our guide at Pompeii - was awesome: he gave a very engaging and colorful narrative of life in Pompeii before the eruption & the archaeological discoveries made. The trip was easy to book even last minute (booked Saturday evening for Monday morning).

We had a great experience overall. The bus was comfortable, and both the driver and guides were excellent — friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The Pompeii tour was truly the highlight of our trip. Our guide was funny, witty, and brought the ruins to life in a really engaging way. The weather was perfect — sunny and balmy — and the tour was well-organized from start to finish. A couple of small drawbacks: we spent nearly 30 minutes at a limoncello stop, which felt a bit unnecessary for our family. Also, we were given about 90 minutes in Positano, which was beautiful but felt rushed — we really wished for at least one more hour to soak it in. Lastly, the lunch stop was underwhelming. €18 for a basic Margherita pizza and a drink felt overpriced, and the food was just average — especially for being near the birthplace of pizza. That said, we’re still very glad we went and would absolutely recommend the Pompeii portion to anyone visiting the area.
