This experience combines the two archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, famous for the eruption of Mount Vesuvius happened in 79 AD.
Join the guide at the entrance of Pompeii ruins called Porta Marina Inferiore, where the tour starts.
Discover the site and its best highlights with the assistance of an expert Archaeologist.
You will see the Forum – the main square – the most important houses and buildings and the famous plaster casts.
After the tour take a quick break, then reach the site of Herculaneum by the local metro line called Circumvesuviana at a few steps from Pompeii entrance.
End your tour with the site of Herculaneum, smaller than Pompeii but better preserved: visit the beach where more than 300 skeletons were found.

5.00We did close to a month long trip around Italy and this day was our favourite. We had actually visited Pompeii a good few years back, but without a tour guide and we really felt the experience this time around. Vincenzo was our tour guide and he was excellent and very much an expert in this regard. He also brought some good humour to the tour while still concentrating on the fascinating history. We had an in-depth two hour walking tour of Pompeii which was really brilliant and then we got the train to Herculaneum to meet up with Vincenzo for around a one hour tour of that site which is also very interesting. We hadn't been to Herculaneum before so this was a full on tour to do and we really enjoyed it. The young woman who met us to organise the tour and take the train with us was also very good. Vincenzo is definitely one of the best tour guides we have had and we've met a lot. We met the tour at Pompeii itself and it was very easy for us. Thanks, from the Irish couple. (Tour May 17th)

5.00The guide provided very helpful insight with good humor. For something we are very interested in, the length of time at both locations was just right. Without the guided tour, we would have had to spend twice the amount of time to effectively see the same amount. Note: the instructions in Viator mentioned having to redeem the voucher at a different location than the meeting location, but that was not correct (you redeem them at the meeting location).

5.00This was the perfect day trip from Rome. Thanks to the high-speed rail connection, it is comfortably easy to see the highlights of Pompeii and Herculaneum and get back to Rome in time for dinner!

5.00What a great tour! I thoroughly enjoyed it. We saw so many amazing things and learned so much more than I was expecting. Our guide, Vincent, was an absolute darling. He was a wealth of information and kept us smiling the entire day. Keep in mind that this tour is a lot of walking and you'll be in your feet all day. Sometimes it was hard to walk on the stone. But I would do it again and I highly recommend Vincent and this tour.

5.00Had such a great day - Mario was an excellent guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Herculaneum and Pompei and also had a great sense of humour. We enjoyed his clear communication style, and particularly how he would provide a summary at the end of each detailed explanation to reinforce the key points. I knew next to nothing about either site prior to the tour and now feel like I know a lot! The transfer from Sorrento was seamless too and our driver Luigi was extremely friendly and keen to make sure we were all having a good time. Thank you Mario and Luigi for a great day, we appreciate everything you did for us!
