Paulo was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable about Pompei and Herculaneum. He was entertaining and knowledgeable. Easy to connect with Askos Tours in the morning. However , it was a tricky bit of train connection with the other guide getting from Pompeii to Herculaneum (trains canceled, took a long time waiting on platform and needed to switch trains, lost at least an hour on platforms). To be honest, a bit problematic starting tour in Pompeii and ending it in Herculaneum (we had stored our bags in Pompeii and had to then train back to get to them, and the Circumvesuviana Train is cheap but a scheduling nightmare) but it would have been much easier without bags if we had just been training back to Naples after this tour. So … don’t do this tour if bringing luggage with you to Pompeii; too difficult to coordinate bag leaving and picking up. Do it (and you’ll be glad you did) if you don’t have your luggage with you and you’re doing it as a day trip from Naples or Sorrento. And, of course, this was all good since the weather south of Naples is lovely in late April. Much harder to enjoy this in the summer.

The tour was great. Unfortunately the train from Rome to Naples was an hour late. But the tour waited for us and we made up some time during the tour. At the first stop there was only 1 men and 1 ladies rest room which made for long lines. The place should have more bathrooms! The tour guide was excellent and described the history and artifacts at both Herculaneum and Pompeii in great detail.

We throughly enjoyed this tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Our guide, Mario, had great knowledge and enthusiasm and had an interesting way of bringing to life how things would have been in these fascinating places. A highlight was seeing the wall paintings and, in Herculaneum, some preserved wooden furniture, which was amazing to see. We highly recommend this tour - wear comfortable shoes!

Our guide Gennaro was excellent! He was easy to understand and very informative about the two sites we visited. The tour spent a good two hours in each one, which was enough to cover both sites adequately. Our lunch stop was at a nice shopping mall, so we didn't have to battle tourist crowds and found good choices at the Food Court. We would highly recommend this tour!

I booked this tour as a small group tour, maximum 12 ppl. There were 23 people on this tour! I could have booked a similar size tour for 1/2 the money. The tour guide was supposed to be an archaeologist, not sure that she was. She rushed the tour along. Moving to next area without waiting for the entire group to catch up. This made us miss a lot of info. I wouldn’t recommend this tour.

Vincent was very knowledgeable of all of this archeology.,a very interesting history tour. Unbelievable remnants of history left from that long ago and available for viewing. Sad but very interesting about what the volcanoes did to each area. If looking for a great history and archeology tour this is the one. Unbelievable. But it happened to those poor souls.

It’s a great tour however doing both sites on one day requires a lot of walking, much on uneven surfaces.
