This experience combines the two archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, famous for the eruption of Mount Vesuvius happened in 79 AD.
Join the guide at the entrance of Pompeii ruins called Porta Marina Inferiore, where the tour starts.
Discover the site and its best highlights with the assistance of an expert Archaeologist.
You will see the Forum – the main square – the most important houses and buildings and the famous plaster casts.
After the tour take a quick break, then reach the site of Herculaneum by the local metro line called Circumvesuviana at a few steps from Pompeii entrance.
End your tour with the site of Herculaneum, smaller than Pompeii but better preserved: visit the beach where more than 300 skeletons were found.

5.00Raphael was our tour guide today and managed to squeeze in so much of both sites within such a short amount of time. His delivery was informative, humorous and thoroughly entertaining - my husband and I particularly enjoyed his jokes and singing. Highly recommend others to experience these historic sites as Raphael knew all the routes to avoid the larger crowds and gave us enough time to learn some facts and take some great photographs.

4.00Knowledgeable tour guide. Transportation to Herculaneum from Pompeii was by local train and took about and hour. Also, there was an 1 hr way between the two sites that was not exactly depict in the original description of the tour.

5.00This tour was one of the best that I have ever had. Because of the oppressive heat and humidity on the day, the guide went out of her way to ensure we had as much shade as possible. The benefit of having a more expert guide can't be understated: in addition to describing what we were seeing, she also provided us with heaps of background information and context. No question was too trivial. The use of the headsets also provided opportunities for us to move around at our own pace to explore areas of interest without losing her commentary.
We really felt like we were transported back in time

5.00Michael our guide was just superb. He is one of the archeological staff at the sights and has a wealth of knowledge and makes you really understand what it was like to live in historic times. A nice stop between sights for lunch in mall and our driver Vinny was happy to look after anything we wanted to leave on the bus while we were off exploring. We had a good couple of hours at each sight. Didn’t feel rushed and again Michael was invaluable for setting the scene and imparting his knowledge.

4.00We did this tour with our 7 and 10 year old. It was a little bit of a long day for them, in hindsight I think just the Herculeum would have been a perfect tour rather than both with children.

5.00From booking and throughout we were kept well informed with all the information we needed. Pick up was easy, the tour guide was superb. Questions answered thoroughly and with an obvious knowledge. Driver dropped us off at the hotel at the end which was a real bonus. Wholly recommend this experience.
10/10 absolutely recommend for a more enriching experience of Pompeii and Herculaneum!

5.00This was a great experience! Our tour guide Diego, studied archeology and he was so knowledgeable about Pompeii and Herculaneum. I typically prefer doing self guided tours, but I am SO glad i opted for this tour with Diego since both archeological sites are so vast, I feel like I wouldn’t have had as rich of an experience as I did if I went solo or even with an audioguide. The group was small so it still felt personal which was great. The itinerary was also very organized and efficient and they helped transport us from Pompeii to Herculaneum seamlessly. We also had a break in between the 2 so that we could separate for lunch and a break before reconvening. All of the tour guides/organizers made sure we had plenty of water and bathroom breaks. I would absolutely do it again and absolutely recommend it!!

1.00Unfortunately we were not able to do this excursion due to a rock slide on the road. Traffic was backed up for miles and we eventually had to turn around. We were in communication with the tour company on the way to let them know the situation. This rock slide was on the local news as well. We tried getting our money back but Askos Tours denied any refund as did Viator. 2 couples in the group were leaving Italy the next day so we were not able to reschedule the tour. Due to the natural disaster I feel we should have been compensated or credit for future excursion. We were given nothing.

5.00Great tour, Lilly did a wonderful job recreating the life a times of people of Herculaneum and Pompeii. It was hot, so bring your auto fans and umbrellas for shade. It was also very convenient to have transportation included in the tours for comfort and ease.
