This experience combines the two archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, famous for the eruption of Mount Vesuvius happened in 79 AD.
Join the guide at the entrance of Pompeii ruins called Porta Marina Inferiore, where the tour starts.
Discover the site and its best highlights with the assistance of an expert Archaeologist.
You will see the Forum – the main square – the most important houses and buildings and the famous plaster casts.
After the tour take a quick break, then reach the site of Herculaneum by the local metro line called Circumvesuviana at a few steps from Pompeii entrance.
End your tour with the site of Herculaneum, smaller than Pompeii but better preserved: visit the beach where more than 300 skeletons were found.

5.00We highly recommend our tour to both Pompeii and Herculaneum. Amadeo, our guide, was fantastic! He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He presented the information in a clear and interesting way. From start to finish our day was organised in terms of logistics and communication. If you are considering spending all day in Pompeii or this combined tour, we recommend seeing both places. After 2-3 hours in Pompeii, we felt we saw all the highlights. Herculaneum is worthwhile because you can view many artifacts that were found there and more of the structures are intact.

5.00This tour delivers a good insight to the history of Pompeii in a few hours. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Not suitable for those with accessibility requirements. Wear trainers, take water and sunglasses to protect eyes from dust. Headphones were given out and easy to use.

5.00This tour was excellent. Tour guide Antonio shared his extensive archaeological knowledge of Pompeii and Herculaneum with a dash of humor. He made 2,000 year old history come alive. I had always wanted to visit these two places and Antonio enhanced our visit in every way. Totally recommend taking an archaeologist-led tour vs. walking through on your own. We learned so much.

3.00Excellent tour guide Benedetto. However, we all expected the tour to begin and end at the same location, Pompeii. Or at least to include transport from Herculaneum back to Pompeii at the end. This was not the case. So lunch was rushed before a lengthy train trip with a change of trains and we were left to our own devices to obtain additional train transport back via Pompeii after the tour. Not good enough, given what we paid.

4.00Great tour guide with lots of interesting details. This is a whole day commitment by the time you here there transfer between the sights and get back. The tour ends in Herculaneum, not returning to Pompeii so make sure you are comfortable with getting back to your accomodations from there.

5.00Unbelievably good experience. Amadeo was our guide and was so good. He was able to explain what we were looking at, what else would have been present at the time of eruption, and why it mattered. A perfect level of detail. He kept our kids entertained on the full day trip. It was very easy to get to / from on public trains from Naples.

5.00Vincenzo was extremely knowledgeable about the people of Naples and the history of Pompeii and Herculaneum. He had a light touch so we didn’t feel overwhelmed but I learned so much. And he kept us together with humour and kindness. Our driver was fantastic too.
