This experience combines the two archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, famous for the eruption of Mount Vesuvius happened in 79 AD.
Join the guide at the entrance of Pompeii ruins called Porta Marina Inferiore, where the tour starts.
Discover the site and its best highlights with the assistance of an expert Archaeologist.
You will see the Forum – the main square – the most important houses and buildings and the famous plaster casts.
After the tour take a quick break, then reach the site of Herculaneum by the local metro line called Circumvesuviana at a few steps from Pompeii entrance.
End your tour with the site of Herculaneum, smaller than Pompeii but better preserved: visit the beach where more than 300 skeletons were found.

5.00Highly recommend. This tour is great if you’re interested in the archeology / history of these locations (it is quite pricey if you’re not). Our archeologist-led tour (our guide was Alfredo) was exceptional for this history buff (whose first career goal was to be an archeologist). It is a six hour day, which includes a 50 minute stop at a mall for lunch between sites. Can you properly see Pompeii and Herculaneum in six hours? No, you cannot. Can you learn a TON and see the highlights? Yep, absolutely. We also got to skip the ticket line and were driven to Herculaneum. All in all, well worth the cost. Alfredo was knowledgeable, efficient, polite, patient, and interesting. The tour was very well run, with an organized and professional staff supporting our guide. Great job overall.

5.00After extensive research, we booked this company to tour Pompeii and Herculaneum and were very happy with our experience. Our guide, Alfredo was knowledgeable, funny and approachable. He brought history to life and without his guidance there is no way we would have seen the small details like the historic graffiti. We were happy to have seen both sites by booking with Askos Tours which made the experience more efficient. Taking the local train between the sites provided cultural charm but if you want a high-end experience then get a driver. The local trains need a refresh but it didn't detract from our experience.
