The hike up to the crater of Vesuvius requires a good level of general fitness. The walk is uphill at a 14 degree angle and takes roughly 20 minutes.

We took a day trip to Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius from Rome and it was the perfect blend of travel, education, food, and outdoor activity for our family of five (with three teenagers). 5.00Chiara was an excellent guide. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to enjoy the sites. The hike up to Mt. Vesuvius was beautiful with many great views of the cone and the water and Naples. Danillo was a great driver to get us up the hill and to each location with amazing skill.

4.00The most amazing experience was our guide Édouardo He was so informative, entertaining and giving . He really gave us every minute of his time The trip was super easy with bus and stop over s ? Was plenty of time to enjoy Vesuvius . As for Pompei - it was disappointing It was only 1hour 40 mins . 20 mins out of it we were standing waiting for people to go to the bathroom I bought the Pompei book and none of the highlights in a book we have seen It was raining but surely we could have visited lupanarium or other indoor spaces with beautiful fresci

5.00My 18 year old son and I just finished this tour today. Coming to Rome was a gift to him for his graduation so his mother and I wanted to make it special. We have been doing multiple guided tours in the city, and while this one is a big time commitment (12-14 hrs), we both came away knowing that it was worth it by the end of it. We are trying to build memories and I think this tour did that and then some. A huge part of the reason for this were the amazing guides; first and foremost, Eduardo, from City Wonders, who was one of, if not the best tour guides I have ever had on a trip. He was knowledgeable, funny, gracious, compassionate and passionate. You could tell he loved what he was doing and that makes the experience so much better for all involved. At Pompeii, our guide was Roberto, who was also amazing. It was clear he loved showing his passion for the ruins and his home to us as visitors. We couldn’t have felt more at home with these two gentlemen. They showed/taught us a lot about the not only the specifics of the ruins and the volcano but also the region, Italy, geology, food, etc. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone, just maybe don’t choose July when it’s a heat wave, or thunderstorms!

5.00This was a terrific tour - we loved our guides, both on the bus and then when we got to Pompeii. We climbed Mount Vesuvius, which was a real highlight of the trip. And the bus, the lunch, the climb - just everything - was wonderful! Meeting at the meeting spot was organized pretty well too.

5.00Good experience and tour. The bus ride there allowed for our legs to. Recover after several days of walking through Rome. Bus had good air conditioning. Had about an hour of free time to explore after the tour. Train tickets plus Pompeii ticket on own worked out to be more expensive than this tour
