The hike up to the crater of Vesuvius requires a good level of general fitness. The walk is uphill at a 14 degree angle and takes roughly 20 minutes.

5.00The tour company was very clear and specific in directions as to where to meet and everything was very timely and professional. Our guide John was exceptional. Very clear, concise and knew when to take a break and let us sleep! Well timed rest breaks and excellent guides at the site of Pompeii. Our guideeven made sure that the people who hiked to the top made it back down safely! Highly recommend this tour. Bring water and snacks!!

5.00Wear good footwear..it’s a challenging climb and can be chilly even on a warm day, weather changes quickly so just hang out at the top and hopefully the sun will come out. Well timed rest breaks. Bring water.. it’s hot!

5.00Great trip! The meeting place was easy to find! Our tour guide was great! She was very organized and gave us interesting and informative narratives! The Pompeii section was awesome! I loved it. the guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about the subject! I loved having pizza on the way to Vesuvius! It was so good! I love the climb up to Vesuvius! It was so cool to see the crater!

5.00We had a great time! The day is definitely long, lots of time on the bus, but is separated with lots of breaks. The views from the bus are insane!! The Pompei guided tour was amazing and informative. The hike up the volcano is a must (cup of wine at the top)! Wear comfy shoes as you are walking up a steep hill and a sweater or jacket. The 3 course lunch was delish too, the infamous Napoleon pizza! John was super fun and overall a great guide. Paolo might be the best bus driver ever! Give this trip a try!

5.00Jonathan was a super guide and gave us lots of historical details along the way. Day trip is well balanced between comfy bus rides, Pompéi visit (with local guide), lunch, mount Vesuvius hike and short breaks. Big day so rest up the night before!

5.00Overall great experience and would definitely recommend booking the hike and lunch with it as long as you don’t mind walking a bit. Worth the price and the group was the best! Our guide John was amazing, I don’t think we could’ve ask for anyone better! He made our day so much easier for us! Our bus driver Paulo was awesome as well! We also got to learn a lot from our guide Bernadette through Pompeii, she was Great!

5.00What a fun trip this was. We left early from Rome with a nice bus. After 2 hours a stop to refresh yourself and have a drink, then another hour or 2 on the bus. Arriving at Pompeii we were given a guide who gave a tour and showed us the most important archaeological finds. We then boarded the bus, headed to the restaurant for 3 course menu, appetizer, pizza and tiramisu. Then back on the bus, to climb Mount Vesuvius. After about 2 hours in the bus to a pit stop for a limoncello tasting and that ended the day. This took 13 hours. During the bus trip, Chiara enthusiastically talked about the culture, summer, Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. She is a nice guide! All in all, my daughter and I have a nice memory to go with it.
