IMPORTANT INFORMATION REQUIRED FROM ALL PASSENGERS: You MUST provide all passenger names at the time of booking in order to visit Mount Vesuvius or you may be refused entry.
During summer months in rare cases of inclement weather or strikes, the crater of Vesuvius may be closed to visitors, therefore, if this is the case, it is replaced with a visit to Positano where you will get free time to explore the city.
Please be advised that in the case of events beyond our control, we may need to adjust our itinerary to ensure the safety, quality, and satisfaction of your travel experience.
While our day trips are typically of a fixed duration, external factors may occasionally extend tour times slightly. We appreciate your understanding and planning as we strive to provide you with the best possible experience.
If you have any dietary restrictions, please inform us at the time of booking and remind your guide on the day of your tour.
Children under the age of 18 might be requested to show their ID card at the entrance of the site, so please bring it with you on the tour
The hike up to the crater of Vesuvius requires a good level of general fitness. The walk is uphill at a 14 degree angle and takes roughly 20 minutes.

4.00They really one lose 1-star because there is no bathroom on the bus, but that's it. Our tour guide Ana and driver Luca were amazing. You get to the piazza nearby and there are tons of people waiting, and tons of staff organizing everyone into their buses. It's very thorough. And the bus does stop an hour into the drive to use the restroom and is a comfy bus (or as comfy as they get). I wish we had longer than 1 hour to go both up and down Vesuvius, but we had some unexpected delays that morning. Ana was clear, communicative, warm, funny, and a great tour leader - which I was surprised at as she was an elderly British woman, but candidly I want her to narrate my life, her voice is that fabulous. Luca is an experienced driver, and there are even some fun surprises as well.

5.00Our tour was more than a tour, it was a whole experience thanks to our guide Eduardo!! Who went Above and beyond to teach us the Italian ways, italian history, Italian language and provided tips about Rome, we learned a lot about Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii and this is my second trip to Pompeii. Eduardo kept the tour very entertaining and on schedule. He also taught me how to make sure the pasta is cooked without having to throw it to the wall 😆 this man deserves a raise and more!

1.00Do not book the tour for Pompeii and Vesuvius with pizza lunch! I signed up for this tour for myself, my son and grandkids because they wanted to hike Vesuvius. On the bus when we were almost to Pompeii, our tour director announced he was taking orders for lunch and how much it would cost. I then asked him why we would be paying when the tour includes lunch. And he looked surprised and even more surprised when I said we were doing Vesuvius. He explained they do not do Vesuvius with this tour, only Positano. I showed him my confirmation from Viator that this tour was for Vesuvius and pizza lunch and he told me this was a deception on the part of Viator because they do not do Vesuvius with this tour and this has happened for other clients as well. This tour only goes to Positano after Pompeii, and does not include lunch!! I paid extra money for this and with little children traveling another 2 hours for only one hour, 15 minutes in Poistiano was not interesting or fun for them nor was anything I wanted to do. I contacted Viator and asked for a refund and they refused with no explanation. Very disappointing and sad loss of money. I do want to mention Flavio , the tour director and the driver Francesco were wonderful despite the circumstances.
