What To Expect
Pompeii Archaeological Park
See Pompeii’s ancient piazza and Forum, where business dealings, elections, speeches and processions would have played out during Roman times. Wander the site, marvel at the ancient limestone columns still standing today and capture the centuries-old scenery on camera. Continue onward with your guide to the thermal baths, where many of the townsfolk would have bathed, chatted and lived out their daily lives before the eruption. Wander down Via degli Augustali and discover the Lupanare, Pompeii’s brothel. A 2-storey building with five rooms on each floor, the Lupanare is decorated with some of the city’s most lustful frescoes. Your exact route will depend on the crowds and weather conditions.

3.00I should have asked if this was a small tour as assumed it would be based on the transportation being a mini-bus. Tour was not small groups are broken down to ~25-30 people for each tour guide which you meet at the site. Travel to and from was on a large bus it did have A/C and they also sold water for 1 Euro which was nice as hot in the summer. Tour guide was informative but with such a large group and crowds you would lose audio if group was stretched out with Bluetooth speakers, which happened four or five times during the tour. Overall tour was on time and organized fairly well.

4.00For this tour we were contacted a couple days prior to let us know a pick up point. We are grateful for that heads up so that we had time to scout out the location. The bus delivered us to Pompeii and we received a guide, Salvatore. He conducted a nice tour in Pompeii, full of interesting information regarding the ruins. The only negative I have was that because the guide from the bus didn't follow us through the whole tour, it became a little disjointed and confusing as to what to do at times like which bus to get on for the ride back to Naples.
