The tour guide was good but the value for this tour is not great. You could have easily do mt Vesuvius in the same tour, but you chose not to. The other half day pompeii and Vesuvius has min 2 pax booking. Sorry, but this have been disappointing. I recommend going for other half day tour with Vesuvius if for a couple. Pompeii on its own is boring.

Very good tour. We were staying in Rome and wanted to see Pompeii but did not want to do a combo trip with other places. We also were not totally confident in taking the train all the way to Pompeii, so we decided to do high speed rail to Naples and do this half day trip. The tour guide met us near the Naples train station and we took a van to Pompeii where we were linked with a guide. The experience was very good. The only thing that might have made it just a bit better would be perhaps some narration or information in the van on the drive. That was really just a drive, but that's OK. We also did have some downtime/waiting for the guide once we got to Pompeii, which again is OK, but could be improved. The tour itself was excellent. It was a rainy day but our guide made the most of it. We learned a lot about Pompeii and I think the short time there was well spent. I was happy to have a knowledgeable guide rather than the self guided tour. I think we probably could have attempted the local train and hired a guide at Pompeii, but the ease of having the van ride right to the gate was worth it for us. The high speed rail from Rome was easy and delightful.

Elisa was a terrrific guide. She related everything to English idioms which made the tour even more enjoyable. She was very knowledgeable. The weather was perfect and I am glad I waited until now to visit Pompei

Our guide for the tour of the site was excellent. Obviously very practiced but still fun and happy to answer questions. What we didn’t appreciate was the “hurry up and wait” parts of the tour - we arrived, we’re given 15 minutes to use the facilities and 35 minutes or so later, we finally moved out on our tour. Return was the same - 15 minutes to look around the coffee shops, etc. and 30 minutes later finally climbed aboard the bus. It was advertised as a small group tour but by the time we headed into the site, there were about 30 of us. Since we were all pre-registered it seemed to me that this all could have been much more efficient.
