The bus ride to Sorrento and Pompeii was very comfortable and was nice to experience Italian highways. Our tour guide, Bruno was amazing. So informative and could tell he enjoys his job. A great story teller!! Pompeii itself was breathless and would recommend this tour highly!!

Whilst our tour guide and the archeologist were great, the day was quite underwhelming. The itinerary says 2 hours at Pompeii, 1.5hrs of a guided tour and then ample time to explore after that at our own pace. But we left at the 1.5hr mark with no free time to explore. We only saw a very small portion of the site, many of the same things and we didn’t even get to see the amphitheatre or the arena which doesn’t make sense to me. We also didn’t get the opportunity to stop off at the gift shop and buy a souvenir. My husband and I have decided to drive back and pay again to go in and wander around ourselves to see some of the important things mentioned about that I would have expected to see on the tour. We spent more time in Sorrento and having break stops then at Pompeii. Wouldn’t do this tour again.

They have 2 stops to sell you things before taking you to the destination of Pompeii, and they only give you 1 hour and a half of tour in the tourist attraction, in a 12 hour program, the truth was disappointing.

Absolutely amazing! Franko and Marko were incredible hosts and shared so much extra information about Italy along the drive. Would definitely look them up for another tour in the future

Although the bus ride from Rome to Sorrento was over 3hrs, he guide kept us entertained with lots of info and history along the way. The scenic ride was very enjoyable and we felt safe though it was a winey path. We made a stop at a lookout which gave us a spectacular view of the coast which was a bonus. The driver was clearly v experienced and took us back to Rome punctually. Our local guide Sasha in Pompei was v knowledgeable, made the best use of the 1.5-2hr to into us to the ruin city. We covered about 1/5 of the city and his narration was amazing and left you wanting to come back for more. If you have a day to spare and you don’t want to navigate the speed train, this tour is a MUST.

Marco was an excellent guide. Long trip, but worth it. Thoroughly recommend. Sorento is beautiful and Pompeii was fascinating.

They sold a guided tour in Portuguese, but did not comply, because they joined us to a group of Spanish speaking, where the guide spoke, sometimes, a portunhol of the worst quality, in the part dedicated to Pompeii. In the section of Sorrento, the guide Enrico respected the customers by speaking Portuguese, Spanish and English equally. Unfortunately, in the most complex section, the archaeological site, the 9-year-old son could not understand anything, becoming frustrated, very sad, because he wanted to know. The guide was insensitive, without observing the context. The service provider's uncompromising with the 9th most spoken language in the world affected a family of 3 people, who paid for two children the price of an adult, disturbing a child, who could be in any amusement park or at the computer, but wanted to take advantage of the knowledge brought with the effort of countless European archaeologists.

The tour claimed to be to Sorrento yet we had only 45 minutes in Sorrento, hardly enough time to even walk to the center of town. The guide from the tour company was not accommodating in any way to us when questioned why we had only 45 minutes in Sorrento. They use the excuse of "heavy traffic" which really was not any of our problems. Given the fact we had paid to visit two cities I had heard good things about Viator and this was my first experience and will be my last. We spent more time that day on the bus than we actually spent in either Sorrento or Pompeii. Hardly worth the money to take a bus ride to the cities that we could've taken a train to for less and seen on our own. Definitely a disappointment and would not travel with Viator. And then in Pompeii, following the guided tour, our bus guide was questioned as to why we could not spend 15 minutes in the gift shop since we were already cheated out of our trip to Sorrento, and knowing that many of us were already upset responded; "we're on a strict time schedule and we are already late because of the traffic ". So, because of traffic everyone on the bus who had paid $130 for this trip was treated to a bus ride to two cities that we spent very little time in and actually spent 60% of the time with Viator tours on a bus. The guide that we met in Pompeii was quite good, but really didn't seem to care a lot about any of us and was just "doing their job" hence my one star rating. When I called several numbers and tried to find who would take responsibility for the mishaps, I was treated rudely and no one wanted to take responsibility. I did in the end receive a $13 refund for the Sorrento part of the trip which hardly seems equitable since Sorrento was half of the trip and I received a 10% refund. Very disappointing. Definitely learned my lesson with this tour company
